Series you've recently watched, are now watching or have given up on

Thought we’d try Before We Die on PBS. A British police procedural, but not a very convincing one. We watched two episodes, but I think we’re going to abandon it.

I loved that series and was sad to see it end. And I agree with you, that whole Bates’s storyline was borrrring.

Hearing Anna fellate the words “Mr. Bates” got old real quick.

We started the new season of Upload last night. Probably should have re-watched season one first; it’s been nearly two years, and we’d forgotten a lot of what happened. It pretty much took the whole first episode to catch up.

In fact, I’m not even sure we are caught up. We might go back and re-watch before continuing.

I checked this out tonight and ended up watching the first four episodes. It’s not often a comedy will really make me laugh out loud but this one did. I’m looking forward to the rest of the series.

I keep trying to like Lost in Space, but it gets bogged down in kid interaction. I think it’s just too PG for me or something.

Same here. I finally gave up.

I didn’t mind the kids so much, but I thought there was already enough drama around without Dr. Smith. I know, I know. They’re part of the story, but I found them annoying. I also gave up.

I watched around half an episode of Halo. That was plenty for me.

Didn’t bother doing this. By the end of episode 2 we were pretty much back up to speed. First couple eps of season 2 were fine, but it’s time to move the plot along.

The newer one on Netflix?

I’m just now discovering this.

I’m a sucker for this sort of thing—all the other people are gone, you can do whatever you want, etc. It’s had some pretty funny moments but also a few that left me like “Yeah, no…” Overall I like it well enough so far to continue.

Included with Hulu.

Also tried this:

I didn’t finish episode 1. I do like Morgan Spurlock’s stuff but this was totally observational and didn’t work for me.

Included with Hulu.

Continuing with Wecrashed tonight.
Signed up for disney plus , so have I a lot of Star Wars univers to get to. I also watched a bit of “The Right Stuff” ( a series not the movie) that looks pretty decent.

I really enjoyed Last Man on Earth, Gail being my favourite, it grew to be quite the thing and could have done with one more season at the end, I think they had one planned. Will Forte is in good things, but he’s usually playing the idiot and unlikeable characters. I do love his use of swimming pools though…

Was a big fan of “”The Walking Dead” when it came out and was glued to it for the first 7 or 8 seasons like millions of others. But somewhere after Negan came on board it jumped the shark for me. I gradually lost interest and would DVR it and fast forward through much of it and before long I just stopped watching altogether. I was a fan of “Fear” for the first few seasons too, but they both become like soap operas after a while, going nowhere fast. It’s a shame, because it was a really innovative show at one time. First episode of TWD was a masterpiece, with Rick Grimes waking up in a different world after a coma. And those walkers were creeeee-py.

Yeah. I remember the original, which was not exactly high art, but I had hoped that this one would be at least somewhat interesting.

It has a couple of threads here with people venting about problems with the series. (But I think yours never came up. Kids should be seen but not heard talking to each other?)

Not what I said. The series is geared to the “G” or maybe “PG” audience, which means kids are getting more air time. It’s just not all that interesting to me.

We’re back into Bridgerton on Netflix. Another period piece, but done with humor. There was a dance scene and I suddenly realized that the music was a Victorian version of “Material Girl”.

I’m also trying Peacemaker, but it’s not something my wife would like.

I got sick of Will Forte and gave up.

Now looking into this one. Ep1 was good and it looks very promising. A British program with Christopher Walken, wow! It follows the series of characters and shows their bad decisions outside their community service.
