You lot are bizarre. So far, sevencl’s “crimes” seem to have been to correctly point out one troll, and to express a rational position on tipping. That said position seems wrong to you is because you have been brought up with a stupid position which bears little reality to the way the rest of the world works - ESPECIALLY Scotland where no one ever tips at all. In Glasgow if someone left £20 for a £19.80 bill, then it would be more likely to be a “keep the change” type incident where the person doing it thought they were doign the staff a favour than an insult.
She seems entirely reasonable to me and I hope she won’t mind me saying that I PM’d her for advice about something and she gave me a very thoughtful reponse, something I really doubt that a troll would do.
Why does this not surprise me in the slightest
Two complete fucking assholes agree with one another. What a shock the douchebags are on the same side.
Since I know I am not an asshole (I suppose I could be a doucehbag, that is a matter of opinion, but there is no conceivable way I could be an asshole) your remarks just reinforce how much of a silly person you are.
Actually, she didn’t “out” a troll. She never brought up any issues with the OP of that thread per se, she just highjacked the hell of it with her ongoing threadshit about her privacy concerns. And as has been brought up by most posters in this thread, it’s amazing how 1) intimate she is with board culture and how she just happens 2) to be on the controversial side of things. Every single time, long-windedly all over the place. What, 300 posts in less than three days? Too much just doesn’t add up. I’m sure that TPTB haven’t got her on their radar for no good reason.
LOL. It really was meant to be positive. Perhaps not overly-gushingly so but positive nonetheless. For all his eccentricities, I like SL. He’s entertaining.
Yeah. I’m not going to speculate on whether she’s a troll because I’m really really bad at figuring out stuff like that, but let’s be honest about what happened in that thread. Whether or not Frosty Camel was pulling his story out of his ass, her behavior was still inappropriate.
Here’s a clue as to figuring it out. If someone joins and immediately starts posting about issues that have caused heated debates here (especially multiple heated debates), it is probably a troll. You’ve been here long enough to know which buttons get pushed to get a reaction. Next thread “Why can’t I have an avatar pic of me and my declawed Pitbull?”
While I do agree that in certain instances Sevencl’s posts have not been very polite, and on some occasions rather inflammatory, I am not posting here either to flame or to defend him/her.
My point is this: I registered here a few years ago (to enable the search function TBH) and started actually posting very recently (and not even every day). Thing is, I lurked unregistered for years before that and am quite familiar with several aspects of the “culture of this board” as has been mentioned upthread, even though I am a very new poster.
So what I’m saying is that being familiar with the board culture in itself doesn’t really point to somebody being a troll or a sock or whatever.
