Shield Season 4 Direction So Far - Thoughts (UNBOXED SPOILERS!)

I’m a little concerned the direction the first ep of season four has taken this season, its pretty drastic to say the least. In particular killing off the traditional STRIKE team is strange but if the new anti-gangs thing comes together who knows. Also mixed feelings about the new captain (good ridence to asaveda though), not sure a women will be able to have the chemstry the old one and vic had.

Anyways it was still a pleasant surprise to see the first ep so soon before the rumor’d air date, I’m about to watch ep 2 and hope its proves the new formula has what it takes.

Between 8 and 36 hours ago anonymous individuals released dvd-quality versions of the first two episodes of The Shield season 4. Of course this being the CS forum we do not judge the originals of mass-media, we simply appreciate whats out there.

Finished watching the 2nd ep…much better! Shane character has gotten very interesting in his new role, Vic’s family isnt coming up too much, and the Men’s washroom has finally been fixed (there was a celebration).

Hopefully the new eps will keep coming, but I bet not all of them have even been made yet.

So far, I’m liking it. The building problem between Shane & Vic seems really interesting, especially as Shane is just doing (or trying to do) what Vic and he did together for years. Seems to me that Vic’s the one who changed.

I like the new head bad guy. I’ve seen him in a bunch of things, he’s a good actor.

What I’m not sure about is why Vic suddenly got incompetent since last season. That garage sting operation… were we given any indication it was a shambles before now? I don’t remember that from last year.

As for Glenn Close, so far so good. She’s definitely different than Aceveda, and she seems to have some big ideas for the barn.

Sorry if anyone felt they learnt too much, I tried to just talk about the general direction the 4th season is taking with divulging major plot points (aside from the men’s washroom getting fixed). But anyways, thanks MOD for amending the title to be on the safe side.
