Episode 1
I think the show will really get rolling tonight after plenty of “set up” last week in the season opener.

Should be interesting to see how Vic responds to being left out in the cold for the “gang czar” position. I’m sure he will be pleny motivated to kick some ass.

The Shane story line might be the most intriguing of the season. I’m sure he and Vic will continue to cross paths.

Enjoy!

Ex Chief Gilroy turns up in a bodybag! I did not see that coming. His beard was pretty cool.

Vic is up shit creek now.
He’s trying really hard to ride the straight and narrow and become a good cop again, and just as that’s happening, his past is haunting him with Shane working for that gangster. And he CAN’T bust Shane or Shane will spill the details about their escapades together…but if he doesn’t, he’ll never bring down the most powerful gang in Farmington.

My prediction is that Shane will get killed by the gangsters before he has the chance to incriminate Vic.

This show is so complex, I love it.

Aceveda obviously has some serious issues with rape fantasies and the such. Don’t forget that he was accused of raping that very young girl, I believe in season 2. Seems that he has always had some sort of S&M fetish, but trying to deal with his own sexual assualt has probably confused the hell out of him. What a deep character. I hope they don’t limit him too much now that he is leaving the barn.

I think Shane will get in too deep, and will need help from Vic. Basically, he’s doing things now how he always wanted to when Vic was in charge, but Vic kept him in check (or tried). Now he’s out of control and maybe he’ll realize that Vic was right those times. Then Shane and Vic can team back up and really kick some ass on the street, when Shane starts listening to Vic. Shane’s sidekick, however, won’t last the entire season. Maybe that guy being killed will be the trigger for Shane to realize he screwed up.

Anyone think they’re going to have Wagenbach hook up with Vic’s wife? I noticed the exchange between them, and the very next scene was talking about setting him up on a date with some other girl.

The set up for Wagenbach was with another girl, but I also noticed the looks exchanged between Dutch and Vic’s wife. Can you imagine Vic’s reaction if he finds out Dutch boy was getting it on with his wife? God help him.

I’m glad to see there are at least a couple of Shield fans out there, I was beginning to wonder if I was the only one.

I remember the beginning of Season Two, when Vic was playing a reduced role in policing, to deal with his separation and all. Shane was in charge, and he kept screwing up. I don’t see why now will be any different. Shane’s a dead man. The only question I have is whether some bangers are gonna ice him, or whether Vic’s gonna have to do it himself

I’m glad Aceveda is moving on. Don’t get me wrong – I think the actor does a fantastic job, and I’ve been a pretty big fan of his. But there’s too many cooks in the Barn, with him and Capt. Rawlings, and the soup’s getting ruined. Plus, am I the only one, or does David seem like he’s just being a major dick recently? I know, he’s always been a hard-ass, but generally it seems to be for the greater good. Or at least to cover his own ass. This season, he seems like he’s being a jerk just to be a jerk. Then again, I guess the new Cap’n noticed, too, because she said something about him looking vindictive. I’m sure it ties into his rape, which makes for a very complicated character (can I get a whoop whoop?? I love complicated TV).

I think Aceveda has been a major dick lately. In fact, last night I said to my husband, “Do you think they’re making him unbearable on purpose so we don’t miss him when he’s gone?” He was like nails on chalkboard the entire episode.

I wonder how much we’ll see him in the future.

I felt the same about Aceveda. Suck… err, typo… such a dick! It’s definitely something to do with the rape and unresolved agression. He’s just leaving the barn for city council, I’m sure he’ll still be in the show. Either he’ll resolve his issues, or there’ll be a huge scandal later when it’s found out that the city councilman gets off on rape videos and goes to hookers. I’m voting for the second option, probably with the help of Vic. Maybe they bust someone who offers up Aceveda as part of a deal.

I’m glad this episode was better than last week. I almost feel asleep during the season premire.

I can’t wait to see the Shane/Vic confrontation. I think Vic is going to have to put Shane down like a rabid dog. Hopefully he’ll do it himself instead of some gangbanger.

I think Shane / new partner is going to go the same way the series opener did. How Vic handles it, however, I have no predictions.

Another fantastic episodse. One thing that’s starting to bother me, though, is that silly smirk that Glenn Close’s character wears at all times. She needs some new face material.

And for the first time last night I noticed a major mistake in the “police lingo”: when Vic told Glenn Close that he thinks his runaway might be involved with the shooting, she said “Your runaway is involved in this one-eighty-seven? You’re making it hard for me to trust you.”

:cringe: Numbers 1-9 in police code are pronounced as single digits - 187 would be “one-eight-seven” - 1080 would be “ten-eighty” - and so on. Officers would think she meant 1807 which is nonsensical. An ex-Farmington cop turned Captain would certainly not make that mistake.

My favorite line “Dutch Boy’s been promoted to Bathroom Guard! Shitty job, but someone has to do it!”
