I shouldn’t be posting my intentions since the last three times I did so things came up on the job which prevented me from attending Dopefests.
That being said…
The pious, chaste and modest ChiefScott shall attend should proper accomodations for changing and crashing be available. I shan’t wish to drive following an Irish pub debauche.

Well let me just say to all you Raleighites that no, I do not think you should be having another dopefest.
I think you should all get back to work, you overpaid computer wizards, because most of us are never going to get to a dopefest in Raleigh or anywhere else. We are chained by our jobs or our lives to some far flung backwater city where there will never, ever, in a million years, be a doper get together.
But you folks in Raleigh are always talking about the last dopefest or the next dopefest. Yes, I’ve been to Raleigh, and yes it’s lovely.
On behalf of every poster who is never going to get to a dopefest I’d like to say, bite me!

I’m definitely coming and bringing my husband (who’s much more fun than I am!). We already made hotel reservations and arranged for the dog to go to the kennel for the night, so there’s not stopping us now!

I’d like to come but Sqrl. will just get home about 8 p.m. Friday night after a week in Houston from work so it looks like we won’t be there after all.

This site also has a “Citysearch” link on there; it has an area you can search for info on hotels, if someone doesn’t post something more useful here. If you search by neighborhood, choose “Inside the beltline.” (And ignore the fact that they include the hotel with Chapel Hill in its name in this list. The last time I checked, it was in, ummmmmmm, Chapel Hill.)

Falcon…you know, you could stop by Richmond anyhow and carpool the rest of the way with us, so you’d only have to do about 2 hours of driving both ways…wink wink

I live in Durham (used to live in Raleigh), and I suggest after you’ve imbibed enough at Tir Na Nog, you shoot on over to Jillian’s (also downtown Raleigh), where the ACC tournament will be on the many, many big screens, and you can shoot some pool on the tournament style tables.

We still need a time for this shindig. Tir na nOg serves dinner from 4-10pm, and stays open until 2am. And the possibility of moving on to Jillian’s for pool, video games, etc. has been mentioned.
My feeling is, the earlier we start, the more time to hang out together. How about 6pm? If you think that’s too early, just right, or (unlikely, I’m sure) too late, speak up.
And, persons in the maybe category, let’s hear from you if you’re still following this thread. Tir na nOg has a room for private parties, and given the possible size of our group (I count 15 definites and 10 maybes), we may want to see if it’s available.

I think the idea to adjourn and move on to Jigglian’s, uh Jillian’s is a great one. It’s not far away and I’ll most likely be sober enough to make it there. Whether I make it HOME or not is another question. So we’re thinking 6pm on the 10th of March at Tir na Nog? Count me in.
