Seriously, you need to put ID in to play the lottery there? Up here the only thing you need to put in is moolah.
I missed the “L” upon first read, & given that the poster was Mr. TMI, well…
Laundry is outta the dryer. Off to Race #1, then back home for a bit before off to Race #2 / socializing, then back home to shower (again) before off to another social gathering/dinner. Can I haz hap time in there somewhere?
Anybody who races for fun doesn’t deserve hap time.
Showered and dressed, waiting for **FCD **to finish dressing so’s we can go get breakfast. Round about 8:30, I couldn’t stand my morning mouth and lack of shower - who knew it’d wake him when I went into the master bath!! Am I mean to do that?
No matter - it’s time for breakfast, and I’s stahved!!!
Howdy all! Thank goodness the weekend is finally here. This past week was hell from the Devil himself. Our office phones and fax were out since Tuesday. Every single line. Our scanner quit working and I screwed up my laptop and had to pay $310 to get it hacked and fixed. Nothing worked. Plus the wx sucked too. So dang windy.
Stress level is at an all time high.
Good news is I have a pan full of bacon cooking in the oven for BLT’s minus the L.
Wow! Your stinky breath &/or BO woke him when you walked by? Pee Ewe!
Did really well @ Race #1; did a good time for me but great overall, mainly due to a lack of competition. If they had given out awards, I would have got one. They ran out of shirts in my size; which is fine I’ve got overflowing closets full of 'em, but it woulda been kinda cool to wear a race shirt with today’s date to a different race. Butter’s, BLT should be minus the T…& the M(ayo)
Back from breakfast. I just planted the two banana trees outside (pics in FB) and I took my 3 spider plants back out on the front steps. Quite enough labor for today. OK, I’ll probably do some laundry, but that’s not exactly hard work.
Oy! One should always drink at least a half a cup of coffee before attempting to prepare breakfast.
I was having trouble with the big burner of the stove, so I decided to go with a little one. I managed to get the big one going (I had jarred the coil out of its plug when I cleaned it) so switched back before putting the skillet on it. I also put the cover back on the little one and set the package of bacon on it, ready to go back in the fridge whe I put the eggs back. :smack: I forgot to turn the blamed thing off. I was pouring coffee and putting jam pn toast when I smelled it. Ewww!
When I grabbed the package of bacon, it momentarily stuck to the burner cover which immediately dropped to the floor, hitting my bare foot on the way. :smack: :smack:
So now, I have the rest of the pound of bacon fried (it just got warm but the melting plastic didn’t get to it) and in the fridge and a cold washcloth on the foot and wondering how much shoes are going to hurt today.
It’s a cloudy 53 degrees outside, going to get up to 59. Looks like it’s going to rain any minute.
I woke up too early, then fell back asleep and slept too late. I have lots to do today.
We’re going to the armpit tomorrow. It’s supposed to rain so we won’t be able to bring too much back with us. He needs to finish cleaning out his room. There’s a chest of drawers I want, it’s not heavy and if not too rainy maybe we can bring that. My niece is going to be there so she can help load things and get things from the attic.
I should run up to the grocery store today and use my card to get gas, I’ll probably get 50 or 60 cents off the gallon.
Sometime today I’ll need to irk a bit. The dog needs a bath and a toe nail clipping.
I wonder, are there little gremlins that run around behind me screwing things up for me?
I went back out to the FAFSA website again this morning and everything is fixed from yesterday and I get right in. Only thing wrong is that they have my SSN listed with his name - and I think well maybe because they are using my tax info? We can’t change it, the site won’t let us. We’re bopping right on through the site until pages later it asks for my SSN, and then everything comes to a screeching halt because we have matching SSNs. So I page backwards to try to change his SSN. Turns out the SSN is the ONLY field you are not allowed to correct online. I look through last years stuff and it was correct then, why is it incorrect now? So either he has to go to the college financial aid office, or I have to get the forms and mail in the correction. Such joy and happiness there. I’ll try again Moonday, maybe it’s an error on their part again and they’ll fix it.
I just don’t get this crap, this stuff should be routine and easy. Then again, it is the government.
If I’m real hungry, I’ll skip everything but the B…
Left work early yesterday due to lack of sleep (I’ve got about 16 hours of leave I plan to use before the end of April, so that took care of 2 hours). Napped for 3 hours then woke up early again this am. Feel pretty good, I’m an early riser anyway, but I’mbeginning to wonder about my bed and if it’s time to look for a replacement.
Ouch, red, yeah bare feet in the kitchen can be hazardous…glad to know the bacon was alright…:p:cool:
Chickie rice soup is simmering away. I prefer chickie noodle, but the resident sickie prefers rice, and since I’m nice, dammit, we’re having it his way. Before I boiled the carcass, I stripped off most of the remaining meat - half for the soup, half for chickie salad. The soup has carrots, celery, and onions in addition to the rice and chickie.
**FCD **has gone out to ride his Hog, so it’s just me and the critters. It’s not even 60° out there, so he’ll be cold when he gets back - soup will be good.
swampie, I see St. Patrick’s just missed having it’s day in Holy Week again! Three more days and it would have been 2008 all over again!:p:eek:
I spent time at Topeka’s St. Patrick’s Day parade today.I wish I had a kid to take, it’s more fun when you get to help them grab candy being thrown out! I go for the people watching, but I did have a beer at The Celtic Fox, Guinness of course. I saw some wild hats and makeup.
I’m going to veg out the rest of the day, as I did also have to irk some before I went to the parade. Tomorrow I serve as a chalist during deheathenization, but then I have to go do laundry at mom’s, and write out some bills for her.
It may be wrong of me but I left a poor Google review of my credit union. I went to use our ATM and it charged a fee! My own credit union! I don’t know when that started, as it’s never happened before. I gritted my teeth and paid because I needed the cash, but I’ll call Moanday and rant about it, politely of course.
Got some wood for the smoker, got some 12 pounds of choice but cheap pig to smoke, and planning out just how I want to combine it all tomorrow. A terrific weekend already!
Just got up from a long nap. Was out very late last night - worked late then on the way home got a call that a coworker had been in an accident. To be precise, the mast was up one section (about 8 feet) while he was driving and it struck an overpass. This bent said mast preventing the truck from being driven further.
I had to help him safely park the vehicle, return him and the reporter to the station and begin the paperwork process. Also I have had to give advice to that employee about how to deal with this.
I’m fairly sure he won’t be fired, but I feel real bad for him.
Why is it that the people you want to hear from don’t text and the ones you want to go away send multiple texts?
My internet keeps going in and out. It’s very annoying.
I tried the FAFSA site again, now it’s back to locking me out while telling me I’m already logged in. Time to give up I think. It’s on my list of things to do, another one that won’t get done.
I haven’t watched a parade in a number of years. After today; it will be many more until I watch another one. I guess the St. Party’s Day parade is not the one to go to if you don’t want to see lots of drunk idiots. After race #2, the road remained closed for the 2pm parade. I had been invited to a loose party in the parking lot of one of the businesses on Main St. Apparently some got there as early as 10:30 to start their drunking (not drinking with an i, but drunking with a u) because I heard a noise, turned around, saw one end of one of the tables had moved two or three feed & a woman sitting on the ground where the table had been. She was literally falling down drunk by 2pm.
The parade was slow (like one unit per block slow) & it was getting colder as clouds obscured the sun when the front rolled in so I went home, showered & went to the next outing. We went thru da hood to get there & saw a bunch of people standing on the sidewalk. It was a Mexican wedding that had just spilled out onto the street, judging by the woman in a white dress & the 4 mariachi players following her. She had her own mini-parade.
I feel a little bad about what I did, based only on the outcome, & I’d do it again in the future in similar circumstances…
As I’m driving up the road on the way home, a van pulls out real s l o o o w & wide, then is doing maybe 30 in a 45 zone & is also doing a ‘bit’ of swerving. We call PD on him. Cop later tells me that he’s an out-of-state contractor (I could tell the out of state part by the license plate) staying locally in some hotel/motel/(non) Holiday Inn & trying to find chicken (that isn’t slowly rotting into something that looks like cheese) noodle soup. He hadn’t been drinking but was playing with the GPS, even showed the cop all of the local restaurants he had looked up. I guess the guy’s feeling under the weather & trying to get some soup to feel better, but you know what - pull over & do that instead of driving all stoopit-like late on a Sat night & maybe, just maybe someone won’t sic the cops on you when you’re driving all DUI-like. :smack:
