Simpletown Mafia the Third

As promised, here is a quick rundown on my current feelings regarding the players in the Game:

Johnny Bravo: I think he is probably Town. I do not see why a Scum player would push so hard for one player. Once I am out of the game, what will be Johnny Bravo’s fallback position? “Oops?” That would be a mighty dangerous game for Scum to play. Read: Townish.

Kimble: Too quiet. I appreciate Post’s like #207, where Kimble points out that the voters on Johnny Bravo being the same as the voters on** Prof. Pepperwinkle**. I hadn’t noticed this. This is the kind of postings we need. Unfortunately, they have been few and far between this game. It still bothers me that after Prof. Pepperwinkle’s suicide post, that Kimble (Post #134) only responds to protest the Professor’s vote switch to him, and does not comment on the player’s impending suicide at all. On the other hand, I think Scum would likely find themselves scarce at that time, and Kimble did post. Read: Slightly Scummish.
**
Precambrianmollusc**: A leading vote-getter on Day 1 gets no votes at all on Day 2. It’s quite strange, until one considers that the Day 1 vote was merely based on** PCM**’s reasonless vote of Mahaloth. Way too quiet until very recently, but I still get a Town vibe. Read:Townish.

septimus: I don’t think Scum would write in verse all Day on day 1. I think Scum do not want to stand out on Day 1 at all. The few Posts on Day 2 have been much more helpful —which, if I read #217 right, is a Scum tell in septimus’ mind? Not in my mind so much. Read: Townish

snfaulkner: Believe it or not, snfaulkner has the second highest post total in this game after Professor Pepperwinkle (who has been dead a week). That’s a lot of postings basically saying he doesn’t know what is going on. He voted for Professor Pepperwinkle and wasn’t around at the EOD… just a few minutes afterwards. Read: Scummish.

TexCat: She was the first to vote for Professor Pepperwinkle. I think TexCat has good Scum hunting sense but I think she was also wrong about PCM on Day 1. PCM may be Scum, but I don’t think there was much evidence on Day 1 to support it. Is her scumdar turned off this time? She has been much more silent in this game than I have seen in other games. But then, so has everybody. Read: Neutral.

Fair Rarity: Johnny Bravo has gone all plum pudding with his disgust that no one will comment on his case against me. But what about my case against Fair Rarity? Are we really going to allow a player to post this little? The only time Fair Rarity seems to reply is when she is called out. I don’t have a bunch of suspicious posts to point to because there have been so very few. My only note entry in her favor is that she might not know that Mahaloth was an experienced player and would thus have little reason to kill him the first round. But if she is just as quiet on the Scum boards then she probably wasn’t the one to suggest it. Her play is anti-Town — much more anti-Town than other players receiving votes, IMHO. Read: Scum.

Like last week, I will be at work and only able to post around 4pm during lunch— probably too late to do anything about it if Johnny Bravo gets the wagon rolling on me. However, if any other Town players try and commit suicide, I will do my best to talk them out of it then. Actually, in case I arrive too late, could someone else do it this time?

1 - Biotop (Johnny Bravo[160])
1 - TexCat ([del]septimus[164][182][/del], septimus[217])
2 - Johnny Bravo ([del]septimus[186][217][/del], snfaulkner[194], Precambrianmollusc[206])
3 - snfaulkner (Fair Rarity[159], TexCat[177], Kimble[207])
1 - Fair Rarity ([del]snfaulkner[172][174][/del], Biotop[185])
0 - septimus ([del]Kimble[158][207][/del], [del]TexCat[162][177][/del])

I now think TexCat and Biotop are the two top Scum candidates. Both are calling snfaulkner Scummy. Ergo, snfaulkner is Town.

I urge Players to join me and Lynch either TexCat or Biotop. Let’s not wait until the last hour.

Posted from the restroom:

Your case against me makes no sense. Super scummy. I will trust that Town sees that.

Unvote Fair Rarity

Vote septimus

Low activity is bad. EOD is soon. My Internet is flakey, so I’ll consolidate while I can

Unvote TexCat

Vote Biotop

I’m slow to catch on, but now I think Johnny is right. Let’s Lynch Scum.

I’m barely awake, so I’m sure I’m not thinking completely clearly. But I think there is a better chance at jb today. If you think he is scum at all, reinstate your vote.

Imma go back to sleep for a few hours now. I’ll try and be up before EoD.

Wait, hm?

I think this is a slip. If I almost had you convinced, then how is TexCat also scum? Also implies certain knowledge. Only scum could speak with confidence like that.

I’ve had a niggling feeling that septimus was using my votes on Biotop as an excuse to vote for me, and have been wondering if they’re scum partners. As I was posting and previewing my observations about what I believe is a slip, I see that they’re now voting for each other.

My current working theory is that septimus, snfaulkner, and Biotop are the scum trio. Looking at it from that angle I’m seeing what looks like under-the-table communication from septimus and snfaulkner.

snfaulkner to septimus: “But I think there is a better chance at jb today. If you think he is scum at all, reinstate your vote.”

septimus: "I urge Players to join me and Lynch either TexCat or Biotop. Let’s not wait until the last hour. "

This communication, plus the slip, make me feel pretty good about this theory.

Which means it’s probably wrong but, y’know, mafia.

Posting from lunch. I think I’ll be able to take a break right before the deadline, so I’ll try to get my preferred bandwagon going again:

Unvote snfaulkner
Vote septimus

Data dump incoming. No responsibility for typos and whatnot - the whole thing was done in notepad:

septimus/snfaulkner/Biotop collusion

Post 51: Joking phase. septimus votes for snfaulkner, then immediately unvotes him. Haha, just the joking phase, so why not throw a quick vote on a fellow scum?

Post 53: snfaulkner votes along with septimus for Prof. P. As a scum read, this is really bad play. Such a bad move that it almost speaks AGAINST their scumminess. Let’s read on.

Post 165: Biotop comes back from the night phase with some really nice questions for septimus which allow him to clear up why he did what he did. This seems like something that a scum Biotop would have planned for.

Post 172: snfaulkner thanks Biotop for being such a townie town player. But wait! He still might vote for Biotop. Haha, just kidding, no he won’t. He’ll vote for Fair Rarity instead, who **Biotop has voted for.
**
Post 185: Biotop votes joins snfaulkner on the Fair Rarity vote.

Post 186: septimus builds a case against Johnny Bravo for being inactive (heh) and also for, wait for it, voting agasinst Biotop.

Post 188: septimus defends Biotop.

Post 193: snfaulkner claims that Johnny Bravo is pushing against Biotop for “just pointing out basic strategy,” and then says that he has a “PermaFoS (for Meta Reasons)” against Biotop, which is of course the same as nothing at all.

Post 198: snfaulkner reiterates that he has zero reason to suspect Biotop of anything.

Post 199: snfaulkner says some stuff about how Biotop will be town “if” Johnny Bravo flips scum. I addressed that particular post in #219.

I think Biotop’s vote, when he made it, was safe and inconsequential from a scum point of view because there were zero votes on septimus at the time. I’m happy to make the stakes higher.

unvote Biotop
vote septimus

I should be able to keep watching almost right up until EoD.

Good News and Bad News.

Two items of good news: I’m an innocent Townie. I apologize for any phrasings that could be misread. Other Good news: Johnny Bravo is Townie. Any residual suspicion dissipates with his latest post. If he were Scum, then Biotop would presumably be Town and regardless of whether Johnny or Biotop flips, his accusation against me has no Scum value. Ergo he is Town.

Bad news. Johnny’s recent post may eliminate any chance of developing a bandwagon against Biotop (or his probable fellow scum TexCat). Perhaps Johnny is sincere Townie expecting to get Lynched but revealing the Biotop-snfaulkner-septimus axis. But that axis is incorrect. I’m pretty sure Biotop is Scum, and snfaulkner may be a swell, but I am not.

Johnny may hope to develop a bandwagon against me this evening. If so, I gave one request. I don’t want a repetition of the previous game. If you want me to claim I’ll need to do it right away, with bad Internet etc.

BTW, Biotop’s assessment of the players in a precious long post was written by Scum. It will give insights into his thoughts. Killing him, to confirm his scummitude for disbelievers, is mandatory. Note, for any unsure of me, that this conforms to both Johnny and my plans. Please Lynch Biotop.

Reading his post now, certain that he is Scum, I’d rank the other players as follows in decreasing order of Scum likelihood:
[ul][li] TexCat - most likley to be Biotop’s partner. Note the careful “neutral” lean.[/li][li] Kimble[/li][li] snfaulkner. (Rather than being Scum, he may be Lynched off by scum this round.)[/li][li] Fair Rarity - Biotop builds case against[/li]
Not scum:
[li] Me, septimus.[/li][li] Johnny Bravo[/li][/ul]
Biotop has “Townish” leans on both Johnny and me. Clever Scum.

Sorry that Johnny lost faith, but if we much msLynch this evening, misLynch me. My flip will confirm I’m delivering straight scoop. If Johnny flips, you might believe his misconception about me. (Like the Professor yesterDay, may should go suicidal.)

Johnny, Aren’t you bothered by Biotop’s vote on Septimus? Do you think that’s part of the collusion and he’s going to move it at the last minute?

When Biotop voted for Septimus, he was moving it from 0 votes to 1 vote, and at a time when snfaulker still had three votes. So no, not really bothered.

Septimus, if you have a claim to make you’d better make it. I’m not removing my vote from you if you claim a power role at the last minute and don’t give anybody time to counterclaim.

JB, Why did you choose Septimus over snf? Just to put Biotop to the test???

I make the vote now:
Septimus 3: Biotop, Kimble, JB
snf 2: Rarity, Tex
JB 2: snf, PCM
Biotop 1: Septimus

And here’s septimus, high and making spelling errors. “A swell” is “as well” “precious” is “previous.”

The septimus you’ve seen this game is a slow and lazy-skimming player. I was sleepwalking but I’ve woken up. Scum are Biotop, TexCat and Kimble (or, less likely, snfaulkner). Where are the players? Fair Rarity and snfaulkner; we need you to move your votes.

Partially.

At the moment I’m watching to see whether septimus has a claim to make.

I am a (vanilla) Simpleton. I win with the Town.

Ok, I haven’t got much time to go into any detail right now. However, here is what im feeling.

Septimus, I believe you are most likely town, regardless of your big blue claim. While it certainly doesn’t take much to make me believe biotop is scum, jb’s case against you seems like total flailing to me, reinforcing my vote for him. Also, I agree with you about texcat. She seems to be sitting back and pulling strings. I can certainly envision jb/texcat/biotop scumfront.

I now must shower, install pants, find caffeine, a drive to the acid mines. I doubt I will be there in time for the secret fuzzy deadline.

But jb and biotop are NOT Scum together. It is jb who has made the persuasive case against Biotop. Reread … Vote Biotop.
