Taters FWIW I don’t think you look like Sarah Palin. You’re way purtier than that.
I have signed my name so many times that for right now I hate my name. Plus I’s hongry. Time for some N.O.L.

I know it’s hard to set aside the politics but IMHO this is intended to be a complement and should be taken as such. No one is going to tell you that you look bad.
So last week I got a bit ornery with my bosses and reminded them if they wanted to have me do an early live then swing into night shift a 2pm start is better than 3pm. That extra hour to get rolling before rush hour is very important, and on a personal note if I am going to work at a pace of about 1.5 to 2 times my coworkers, I would like the built in opportunity for some overtime after 10pm, or the chance to blow town early (at 10pm), whichever each day provides.
Without fuss, they agreed, starting today. I am delighted.
On other notes I say to myself “Get motivated!” I spent the weekend locked up in my tiny home enjoying no one else: no phone calls, no contact at all. I watched movies on tv (Saturday night marathon of Master and Commander,* Animal House* (uncut) and Ronin) and generally relaxed. The time off my aching foot was good. I did do the dishes.
Still there is much I need to do and I have not been doing it.
No but Cookie and Kermit on the other hand --------- (really not safe for work)

Yeah, I know a lot of people say she’s attractive; but it’s hard for me to separate her politics and her whole personality from her looks. I’m am so unlike her in every respect.
Besides, I’m older than her; it was MY face first.
Taters, I feel your pain. Starting with my aunt about fifteen years ago, a lot of people say I look like Sandra Bullock. It doesn’t help that she went to ECU as well. (I finished, though, and she didn’t. In fact, I finished twice. :p)
I’ve responded to three of the most promising roommate ads I scrounged yesterday, cleaned up my bedroom and part of the kitchen, tidied up the living room a bit, did laundry, went to the grocery store, and now I’m just waiting for Male Roommate to wake up so I can borrow his toilet brush to scrub my commode. I’ve also cleaned up a lot of the files on the computer*. I did not go to Goodwill or the Dolla Sto’ today because I was at the Aldi on Hell St. and I hate being on that road. I’ll do that after irk tomorrow.
Now I shall fritter away my day by playing Skyrim. It looks like rain.
*Culinary Boy ain’t getting this computer back. MINE. I will give him back his culinary set, though, if he has his own place and I can be reasonably assured he won’t use the knives on himself. I think he’s in inpatient psychiatric care at the VA. From what I’ve inferred he might have been suicidal when he went in Thursday. I think I broke him. Not sure what to think about that.
Morning All,
Been trolling the past few MMPs and thought it was time to post…
It was a long hard weekend of work and I am tired, this getting old and working in the music biz might not be working out so well
Waiting on UPS and USPS to drop off parts for the motorsicle, get to rebuild the front forks and put new mirrors and clutch/brake levers, just thought the old gal would like a facelift
South Texas summer is a coming already 91 in the old money 33 in the new and they say its going to rain tomorrow .65 in or 16mm and a bit more for wed
Cheers all have a great day
Capt
me, too.
Jim! (that’s your nickname, now. All mumpers get one. :D)
So, I got bitchslapped by reality last night. I’ll be selling and renting a shoebox for a few years til I get my credit scores back up and can afford a mortgage.
:smack: and here we go
Welcome, Capt! Whereabouts in TX? **Rebo **hangs out in Houston, as does lieu, who has been absent of late… I was in Houston once, and in El Paso for a long weekend many years ago, but beyond that, I’ve managed to avoid the Lone Star State.
No, I lied - when I was a several-months-old poop-machine, my folks drove from San Diego to Baltimore, and part of their trek was thru Texas, but I can’t count that since it’s not ensconced in my memory.
I’ve picked up FCD’s meds and had lunch. I can’t seem to get motivated - I’m blaming my lack of sleep. Or maybe lack of sunshine - dreary days wear me down…
**rosie **- while I know it’s none of my damned business, have you considered that maybe renting is the best thing for you? Someone else is responsible for maintenance and repairs and all that crap, and all you have to do is the routine happy homemaking. Since you’re not a handy-type person when it comes to fixing stuff in the house, perhaps the peace of mind of being a tenant is a good thing for you?
Sometimes I feel like home ownership is overrated. Maybe it’s my recent well-digging adventure warping my perspective, but I’m pretty sure that if my sweetie should die before me, I’d get to the point where I’d gladly surrender the house and mortgage for a nice little place where I don’t have to worry about stuff. And I can think of at least two times in my life where renting really would have been the better alternative to buying. In any event, it’s none of my business, but I thought I’d toss that out there anyway.
I need to read more, I think.
Howdy Y’all! I had to be out seein’ folks earlier this afternoon, so I made the executive decision to finish up irk from home. I mean, I can enter case notes and such just as easy sittin’ here in shorts and a tshirt right?
Rosie I know that’s not the outcome you wanted but who knows it might be for the best. Plus, with today’s market, who knows, maybe sump’n can be worked out. I mean if there’s an anxious seller out there and a buyer who’s really interested, sometimes things can happen. At any rate best of luck with however it works out.
I shall start dindin shortly. Country fried steak 'n gravy, rice, squish and green beans. Maybe even bizkits if I have some in the freezer which I think I do.
Laterz!
Slept late but not too late. Sweetie officially has my cold and he’s reminding me of it at every opportunity. I went to Rite Aid to get his inhaler and some cold medicine then to the shoe store and then to Fascist-Mart. Found a box set of MST3K that we don’t have yet, we do now though.
Lunch was my yummy shepherd’s pie (the best ever, if I do say so myself). Now I’m gonna settle down with some horrible movies, some Diablo II, and some Milk Duds.

Well thanks FCM, I’m in Houston. Avoiding the Lone Star State is recommended til we turn the heaters off about Sept/Oct but I love shorts in Jan and 300 M/C riding days a year. Hows the water?
Hahaha FCM said “trek” to Capt Kirk (who obviously intensely dislikes being called ‘Jim’)!!!
Capt, if you’re referring to my new well, the water is all that is wonderful! If you’re referring to the Chesapeake Bay, upon which I hope to spend more time sailing this summer, it’s too cold for swimming right now, but we’re promised a plenteous harvest of blue crabs this summer.
I just ran the vacuum - I really need to do that more often - good grief, what a lot of cat hair and crud got sucked up!! I also noticed that the aquarium was full of bubbles, which is not a good sign. I went downstairs to check the sump and noticed that *someone *had turned the automatic refill pump off. So I added some water and the bubbles have subsided. All is good in fish-land.
Faced with the prospect of cooking for one for supper, I’m thinking a sammich will suffice. I’ve got turkey and swiss and multi-grain bread, and some cucumber salad on the side. That sounds almost healthy! Oh, yeah, and strawberries for dessert.
AAW, now shucks I let Bones and Spock call me Jim, I can let y’all as well
As I tend to work at night I just came back from a delicious breakfast, CFS w/gravy, three OE eggs, cheese grits, sourdough bread, Katz’s coffee and an Iced Tea
I promise to eat my fruits and veggs for the rest of the day
Bike is starting to shift a little funny so off to the parts store, oil change time
Been using the synthetic but really $40 for a gallon of oil!?!? oh well:eek:
FCM yes I was referring to the new well I was a trolling the saga and am glad to know that all is well. We should be playing the Western Maryland Blues Fest and i’m a hoping I can put my hands on some of those tasty blue crab critters, just had some of the soft shell variety when we were in Bama a couple of weeks ago. MMMMMMMMMM Cheers
OK, you don’t just toss it out there and not expand - what and when will you be playing at the blues fest? I’m guessing not accordion… Altho I suppose one could make a squeezebox sound blues-y. And my accordion is blue… hmmmm
Back on track - I googled the fest and there are lots of groups playing. Which are you?
I’ve now given myself a hankerin’ for steamed crabs, but I prefer Baltimore style to southern MD style (pepper vs. salt) - I’ll be in Baltimore visiting my mom this Friday. Perhaps I’ll take her out for some crabs. There’s an idea!
Sorry FCM, I wasn’t trying to be obtuse. I tour with the Matt Schofield Trio as Tour Manager/FOH/Step and fetch it/etc, Booking and MGMT haven’t sent updated calendars yet so I am unsure of the dates but will keep you posted. We had a blast last year and got to hang out with George Porter Jr. from the Meters/Funky Meters.
All I can say is MMMMMMM Crabs
The next time the thread goes quiet, I’ll be right there with “It’s dead, Jim.”
Moooooom, pls send me the link to the forum you were reading, I’d like to see it, but we are only 2 of the Teeming Millions who are interested in ambulance responses.
