Lotions: right now, the lineup is: Pomegranate Apple, Blue Agave, Strawberry Kiwi, Peachtree Tea (peach with green tea), Lavender, Citrus Blast (alllll my citruses in one handy bottle! Clementine, Lime, Lemon, Kumquat, and Grapefruit - with a hint of Kiwi), Aloe, and Vanilla.
Soaps: All of the above, plus Cranberry Citrus, Blueberry, Neopolitans, Watermelon, Aloe and Green Tea, and many as-yet-unnamed kinds. My scent drawer might frighten you.
They’re selling ridiculously well at the farmer’s markets. I’m really excited and soon I will have proper packaging. I’ve made a couple of special kinds for mothers and children - my old consignment shop manager has expressed some interest in maybe taking a peek at my soaps to sell there. Maybe. Perhaps. I hope!! The “mother” soap has lanolin in it, and is a shea butter opaque white soap with a light, classy scent - a soft blend of ginger and amber. The child soap is shea butter and has no colorants added to it, and a very, very subtle trace of a scent called “oatmeal, milk and honey”.
I didn’t make it to Swampfest. I am very sorry to have missed meeting swampy, too, 'cos he reads like he’s a blast and a half.
Home - looooooooong day! I just finished a big salad followed by a dish of moose tracks ice cream. I’m ready for bed… <yawn>
The trip was a good education, but 3 hours one-way in an old van is not fun. My sweetie is out of town tonight and probably tomorrow night, so I’ll be sleeping alone. Oh well, at least we’re closing in on Firday.
**Rebo ** - your recipe sounds yum - and I just happen to have some tilapia in the freezer.
**Taters ** - nice pics. I also want to see the PNW. Someday, I hope…
And that’s all I’ve got for now. Hugs all around. Maybe I’ll be chattier tomorrow.
Hey, SO! Welcome back! We missed you. Room 304 has been deserted.
And hi, bonkeydear. Glad you’ve turned up again.
picu is a sometime Mumper, Shasta. Love the lotion story. And the smilies.
I’m exhausted and rather proud of myself for not having strangled our Help Desk today. They’ve gotten pretty inefficient lately and we seem to be having more that needs to be fixed than usual…
So things took about an hour longer than they should have because of stuff being broken and I didn’t get home till after 6:30.
I think it was tarra who asked about my vacation…? I’m starting to make a list of things I want to do during my vacation week. I’m mostly taking the week off because I have things I want to do at home and it’s driving me nuts not to get them done, but I want to do fun things as well. So I’m gonna make a list and a schedule and hopefully get most of it done and have a nice balance between fun and productive stuff at home. I’ll be in Cincinnati with my niece and nephew at the end of the week. I’d also like to do a couple of day trips nearby. I’d love to get up to Michigan, too, but I think that’s going to have to wait. I think this might be the first vacation I’ve taken since grad school where I’m not going anywhere. Well, except when I moved to this house. And that wasn’t even a full week.
That’s almost 20 years without a staycation.
Dinner is done: I made stuffed shells, garlic bread and salad. It was good. Daughter made the lemon cake for dessert. I am now as stuffed as the shells…
Dunno bout you guys, but I can’t figure out nbcolympics.com, especially the scheduling of stuff. I’m not into into the Games, but I’d like to be able to see some stuff…
For the new girl, I have eight husbands. Only one of them is Legally Married to me, the rest are just extra. They’re all good friends of mine or Mr. Lissar’s, and it got too bothersome tyo say Friend From Work With Keys To Our House or whatever. Two of them are DOpers, actually, although they’re MIA and maybe I should divorce them? Driving Husband, Intellectual Husband, Dishwashing Husband, Lazy Husband, Exgineer, scout122, Attacks Things Randomly Husband, and Harmless Husband (one of the senseis at Mr. Lissar’s dojo, and kind of a psycho).
And QD is a very long-time friend. Muppet has it spot-on- she’s not in any way malicious or trying to be difficult, she’s just borderline OCD about tidiness and… well, in my experience some people just don’t listen well. Or chronically misunderstand. I can think of three people off the top of my head like that, surely other people know people like that, too?
Interestingly, QD is barely quirky at all compared with Other Quasi-Daughter, who’s very nice but her husband is a saint to put up with her interrupting, dropping things, and constantly needing reassurance.
They’re all nice people! Really! I have thousands of annoying flaws myself!
LiLi has flaws? Anybody beside me havin’ trouble believin’ this? She cooks. She cleans. She sews. She produced a keeeeeeeyoooooooote kid. Flaws? Nah!
I should go to bed. I’m not sleepy but usually when I go to bed I can lie there for a bit and get sleepy. I really should go to bed.
OOH! I was messin’ around and came across this site called buffets.fishbowl.com. One can join up and get stuff, so I did. I have a buy one get one free buffet coupon for Ryan’s. It expires on Saturday. Guess where we shall dine tomorrow? MMMMMMMMM… belly up to the hog trough.
What she said. Love the sunset pic. Love the forest pics. Love the surf pics. Hell, love the pics… Lisslar–we’re ALL annoying as hell, really. It’s just that once married, friends need to learn to back off a bit, especially when they are more friends of one spouse than the other. She has no business planning your time or vaca, IMO. How old is she? She sounds (forgive me) immature.
I’m sure they’re all lovely people–that sounds like snark, but it’s not meant to be. It’s just that we don’t know about how great she is with old folks or puppies etc, we only know what’s shared here. Based on that limited info, I’d have killed her by now. I suppose I could live with her rearranging my pantry, but if my spouse needs space from her, that tops all (yes, even TH).
Please don’t flame me. I’m still full from dinner and can’t run very fast.
I’m getting ready to go to bed too. I’ve been watching the Olympics. With the sound off until the swimming started.
I’m just randomly watching stuff, rigs. And, yeah, it’s hard to figure out what’s when. Best page I’ve found is this one. If you click on any one of the blocks, you’ll get the detail behind it. But still, you only get a list of what’s going to be on in a given 2- or 3-hour block.
Oh, lovely. Papa Tigs just assured me that I’m nowhere near done with this crappy bug – one of his coworkers told him he fought it off for three weeks. As of tomorrow, I’m on day 14. :smack: Another week of this, feeling decent one minute, the next minute having a blinding headache, getting that under control only to have dreadful muscle aches, getting those stopped only to have zero energy, etc., etc., etc.? Just kill me now.
Why does NBC keep showing so much beach volleyball? I don’t know anyone who likes to watch more than maybe one match.
Anyway, I’m going to try to get a bit of work done since I got the muscle aches quieted down – I was literally so miserable an hour ago I couldn’t sit comfortably in my super-comfy ergonomic chair. I am really, really sick of this stupid bug, have I mentioned?
OK, I’m up, at work, and somewhat beyond the PTSD of having two weeks worth of absence to catch up with…
Read a bit (OK, skimmed briefly :o)… Six-Degrees? I’d never even survive third-degree!
Seriously, though, I’ve never met any Dopers, mumpers or other, IRL. That is something I wil have to remedy someday!
Vacation pics should be posted… well, hopefully to this MMP… as well as a more detailed account than “Netherlands… was nice.” Promise.
I don’t think I have more than that right now (other than, “Taters, I really ought to flirt with you a lot more ;)”)
I’ve seen the church in Grand Rapids, OH that Silvertygergirl’s Dad preached at. But only in passing.
That’s another thing, although we are talking about interpersonal connections… what about the unique inanimate- the physical nexus for these connections? They must figure in somewhere?
Hi, SO! Let me casually mention that next Monday happens to be available. ::bats eyelashes in the general direction of Tel Aviv::
And yeah, every time I turn the TV on, there’s beach volleyball. it’s actually kind of fun to watch in person, but on TV…well…nice bodies, I suppose, but even that gets boring after a while. That was one of the reasons I washed most of the Olympics without sound last night.
Hope the Sick goes away really soon, Mama Tigs.
I’m up and thinking about what I’m going to do with my week off. It’s becoming an obsession. (That’s kinda good; maybe I’ll actually get something done.)
CutiePie that’s because I are not smart. Go to Ryan’s and go to their eclub and sign up from there. There’s four more of those hog trough places mentioned, none of which are around here.
Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up, purtified and downin’ some caffiene. I’m meetin’ ol’ y’all know who at IHOP for brekkies in a bit. We haven’t seen a whole lot of each other this week. No spend the night night time even. Just one of those busy weeks. He’s got new staff in trainin’ poor thing.
Ok, Ima grab another cuppa caffiene and then I’m off to brekkies and the fascinatin’ world of work.
We had that. Mr. K had it for the better part of 2 months and I had it for a couple weeks. Neither of us have been sick in at least 10 years prior to that. It’s an evil bug and I hope you survive unscathed.
