Yay for The Perfect Child!
Well, that was fun - my fridge had no power. Apparently **FCD ** cut a line in the basement that he thought was dead, but it wasn’t. So after some fussin’ and cussin’ (him at the wires, not me at him) we have a brand-new junction box bringing power to the fridge and dishwasher once again.
I’ve got the lasagne warming up. Plus we’ve got some leftover pineapple upside down cake and brownies for dessert. yummmmmmmmm

Muppet, we got some wonderful fresh, local green beans over the weekend, and we’d picked up some prosciutto just 'cause, and I had the brilliant idea (if I do say so myself) of putting them together. We just wrapped the p. around the green beans and ate them raw. Major YUM. I suppose you could cook them, but why?

**Bbbobbio ** - SIL has been working for a month now - almost full time. But he’ll be cutting back his hours come Sept when he goes back to school. But that was part of the reason they’re living with us - so he can get a degree and a real job.
And the Pink phone is temporarily disconnected till we finish a bit of drywall in my studio - then it’ll be hooked up again. I loves my pink phone!

Grrr. The power is out at my apartment building and at my local Tim Horton’s, yet not at the mall, despite the fact that the former two are on either side of the latter. So, I can’t get coffee at my favourite establishment and I have no computer to use at home. I’m typing this from my iPhone.
And I can’t even cook dinner 'til the power is restored.

It’s cloudy and dreary lookin’ out. It’s rained a little bit and we’re supposed to get rained on a lot tomorrow and Wednesday. I’ll be more than happy to come home tomorrow with a pile o’ work to deal with tomorrow and Wednesday if that’s the case.
Dindin tonight was some beef stew I pulled outta the freezer. Sometimes it’s just nice to be able to pull out a bowl of sump’n, defrost it in the microwave then nuke it.
I also yanked a pork roast and some ground beast outta da freezer while I was at it. I’m thinkin’ tacos tomorrow night and since I’ll be home Wednesday a nice pork roast with some baked apples, though that sounds more fallish than summerish. Still it’d be good.
MinDude sounds like a takeout night to me!
Woo! Power’s back. No takeout for us though, but that’s okay. I had my heart set on a nice bean soup. At least I can charge my phone now.

The part I am distressed about regarding the sleep training we’ve been doing is that the going-to-bed crying (which I have currently been experiencing for twenty-five unfun minutes) isn’t getting any better, and I have no idea why not.
I am right now very angry that Mr. Lissar will be away every night except Friday. It’s not his fault, he has to teach because sensei’s away, but he also has to be at the dojo between 5 and 9. He gets home from work at about 4:45. I hate it.

I’ve only met one Doper, and this was before SDMB existed. We had met in another message board on AOL. And now that I look around, he is yet another that has let his subscription lapse.

I was going to work on caulking in my room (caulking the baseboard along the exterior wall and the window, while I’m there, but I’m tired and uninspired. Maybe I’ll get up early to do that for a bit.

BioRosie perhaps I’m not the best to answer this bein’ as I am sort of a medicine wimp. Benadryl will put me out for a couple of hours. Vicodin, I need to be lyin’ in bed, head on pillow when I take it cause it zonks me big time. Melatonin gradually makes me sleepy and usually gives me between seven and eight hours of good sleep. I’ll take one when I’ve had a night or two of not sleepin’ well.
