I’ve been to Greenville, MS too! Why do they live there doggio? Have they taken up riverboat gamblin’?
Well lordy swampbear I’m starting to feel like you should come back through. Dove season opens in less than a month. I’ll be over here gassing up the 4 wheelers.
Do they know where the dizzy is coming from yet, doggio?
Shadow, have they considered having people bring their own lunches? That would be cheaper, yanno.
Welcome back, Soapy!
Forgot to wave hi to Mama Tigs yesterday. Hope things get better soon! We’re still looking forward to the tales of your trip. And pictures.
Back from Whole Foods (did you miss me?). I was able to restrain myself. Got yogurt, bread, crackers, cereal, and one bar of chocolate. (Chocolove dark chocolate with cherries and almonds. Quite the yum.)
Decided to watch a bit of the Olympics tonight. Women’s synchronized diving. Kinda interesting. Of course it would be more fun without the commentary (although it isn’t quite as bad as the one from the opening ceremonies). The Mexican duo just jumped from eighth place to third just now. Woo hoo!!!
I’m about to upload more pics to my albums. I’ve been meaning to do that for a while.
Nice relaxing evening…

I regret that I have not work harder to get synchronized pool noodlin’ and pool floatin’ recognized as Olympic events. Then again, both, to be done properly require a floatin’ cooler of beer to be nearby. That might be a little hard to get past the IOC.
JellyBean I’m not much for the hunt part, but I can make up a mean dove supper. Fried dove, rice and gravy and homemade biscuits! YUUUUUUUUM!!! Also works with quail.
Lunch comes back tomorrow… he’ll be so disappointed!
Swampy- thanks for the good word with the Vermont bears- though I really like the image of fuzzy, stocky gay guys going through my stuff…
Vermont was a lot of fun, despite the fact it rained a lot! We spent much time just sitting around staring into the campfire talking and reading. Moat of the trip was spent setting up camp and then breaking it down- but that is fun too. The nights were sooo dark and the kids just loved crawling into their tents, bickering for awhile ( :smack: ) and then going to sleep. It’s amazing how living with the natural cycle of the day encourages you to be sleepy when it gets dark and wakeful when it’s light.
So, despite the rain, a good time was had by all!
I missed y’all-- Happy belated b-day Dotty!
I can’t imagine trying to catch up- except to say that the only Doper I know I’ve met in person is Moment Slayer… my husband!
Tho’ there are some I communicate with outside of posting…
<looks around wildly for webcam in backyard or master bathroom>
I will require much washing tomorrow after I (finally) plant my new bed. Pupmanservant, can you soap my back? Ta.
Oh yeah, rigs, just what he needs, encouragement!
Ima go nitey nite now.
Nitey Nite Y’all!
Yikes. That isn’t much of a budget. My average lunch is between $8 and $10 per person and I’d imagine that cost of living is higher where you are.

Still not quite awake. Need coffee.
When’s the last time I mentioned how much I dread the last few weeks before school starts?
Pretend it was just now, ok?
I have never heard you say that before in your life, MBG. Ever. When does school start again? I’m so sorry. You didn’t exactly have a quiet summer, either, did you? Seems quite unfair.
That sounds like fun, Soapy. Makes me feel like going camping, although doing that alone wouldn’t be quite as much fun.
I edited a bunch of pictures and am uploading them right now. Got a call from work a bit ago, had a process that had run into an endless loop. I got to tell them to just break the stoooopit loop and we’ll get the business owner (not me, thankyewverymuch) to deal with it in the morning. I uploaded two sets of pix while listening to the IT guy complain about the bad design that he was being victimized by (sadly, we were on the receiving end of it; it would never have happened in the stuff we send…).
Guess I’ll finish uploading and go off to beddy-bye…

Silence! the nurse has spoken!
Smartie
I am late as usual but,
I was looking at your pics of space dawg , that is a great tribute. They started getting a little blurry towards the end though.
What a lucky dog.

Two down, three to go!
Watching the Olympics - nice bit of eye candy there - but also working a bit on my crochet projects (still only doing scarves, but working up to an afghan, I hope). Also still working on my Michael Connelly book. Say, I tried some of that Green and Black chocolate and boy it -is- good! I gotta say, though, I really liked the Lindt milk chocolate (it comes in a white wrapper/box)–normally I do prefer the dark, but that Lindt milk … num!
Still awake. Why?
And so it is morning again.
I woke up early because I had to go to the bathroom. Of course, not early enough that I could go back to bed and get a decent amount of sleep. Oh well.
I’ll be going to TVLand today. The lunch that I’m delivering is about halfway between where I live and where TVMan lives, so that will be nice.
Fourth night sleeping through the night. Hooray! On the bad side, Mittens and Slippers decided to play in the bedroom at 4:55, and woke the kidlet up. Oh, well- it’s still forty minutes later than he’s gotten up the past two days.
We might be able to move our bed back in tomorrow or tonight.
On the other bad side, Mr. Lissar and QD had a big argument yesterday, and Mr. Lissar wants to avoid her for a few months because she irritates him unbearably. They just… you know when two people just immediately don’t listen to each other/rub the wrong way/talk past each other?
Argh.
Today is either Nat clothes shopping with Driving Husband, or quiet day at home, possibly with my Dad coming over to visit the baby and wash dishes. Either’s fine with me.
Good Mornin’ Y’all! I survived my commute from the coffee pot to the study.
I’m glad to be in da cave today. It’s rainin’ big time out right now. Looks like it might keep it up through the day. We have both tornado and flash flood watches out. No tstorms, just lots of rain. However, radar shows BIG RED STUFF that will be comin’ in later this mornin’.
Ok, Ima go get me another cup o’ caffiene and go out on my back porch for a bit and listen to the rain. Then, it’s work time.
Later Y’all!
I’m on the Weird Shift this month. One of the Indians got hitched and is off making whoopee with his bride. I’m logging on at 3:30 am and working til 5:00 pm or later. Yesterday was 16 hours. I have a hard time readjusting to normal sleep patterns, so I fully expect to be sleep-impaired through September.
Other than that, it’s turning out to be a good week. The weather is unseasonably cool and comfortable, making for a less cranky spousal unit (wooHOO!). I’ve been working on the photographs for this year’s christmas calendars. I got some great shots of buds and petals unfolding. I think the family’s gonna dig 'em. All in all, not a bad week!
What? You mention pretty pictures and don’t share? :dubious: Sounds like a non-fun schedule, though. Do you at least work from home?
That’s sad about Mr. Lissar and QD, LiLi. And yeah, it’s frustrating to hear two people talking, but not listening at all. But yay on the better sleeping!
I’m reluctantly up and need to be out of here in 15 minutes.
