Skins-Cowboys: I Pray To Thee

Very classy

Good sportsmanship has been tilting to the wrong side for too long. Your good deed has not gone unnoticed.

Indeed. As a lifetime 'Skins fan (making up songs like that is part of how I’ve dealt with the Norv years and the Danny years), I’m delighted, but how the fuck did that happen?! (It happened long after I’d gone to bed; I just can’t watch the second half of MNF and be anything but comatose at work on Tuesday.) I gather that during the first 26 minutes of the second half, Brunell didn’t look any more inspiring than he did in last week’s game, or the first half of this one.

Must’ve taken large amounts of finite improbability.

That’s one thing I love about this rivalry. Boys and Skins love the fight, but it’s usually a civil fight with respect on both sides. Sure, we have silly nicknames and songs about each other, but it’s all in good fun and put aside when the day is over. Gibbs called Dallas fans “ugly” but we know it’s harmless ribbing.

Compare Philly. I doubt the Boys or Skins fans would ever think to throw batteries from the stands at the opponents and cheer when an opposing future hall-of-famer suffers a career-ending neck injury on their field.

Another good part of this rivalry is that each side seems to be able to pull a surprise win or a spoiler when they really shouldn’t. It keeps the rivalry alive. I really love the Boys and “hate” the Skins, but on top of that, we love to “hate” each other.

Bastards!
