Sliding into May in the MMP

 I hope that there’s no permanent damage.

metal mouse, I originally read your $1.5B as $1.58 and thought *Holy cow, you can’t even buy a coke, popcorn or a box of milk duds at the theater for that. * :stuck_out_tongue:

nava, our Renaissance Festival will be going on every weekend during the month of May. http://tnrenfest.com/ It’s at a castle too. I’ll likely attend the second or third weekend this year.

Things are beginning to get back to normal at irk and home. I stopped to deposit my tax check this afternoon (yes, I still get it in a paper check thanks to a screw up a decade ago) and drop some letters / bills in the blue box. I’ll pay the last of the medical bills off with the tax refund and my Q1 bonus. Then, I will rebuild my PTO up (two accidents in seven months will do a number on that) and do a bit of travelling this fall.

I like it made without glaze/topping and then add said on reheating down the line. Ketchup is good but a little firm spaghetti sauce or stewed tomatoes can be better at the right times. And a brown sugar/cinnamon glaze can be nice. But for really good results smoke your meatloaf with pecan and hickory low and slow in a regular loaf pan and let it just simmer for 4-6 hours in its own juices.

Nah – Haunted Hot Sauce’s “Flesh Feast”. It brings a lot of flavor to the table and not just heat making it a nice mix-in; say two table spoons per pound.

Darn; a couple off the top.

Returning the earworm, Mouse? It’s a good thing I generally know how to get rid of them (generally), listening to the whole song normally does it.

I bought some French bananas. With my apologies to growers in Martinique… I definitely prefer Spanish ones. Plátano de Canarias for me, thank you. Maybe it was just a bad bunch or something, but these have a bitter undertaste I don’t like at all.

jumps into giant mud puddle with my shiny red rain boots and shiny yellow rain coat and hat and splashes y’all

I have been a bad, bad girl today. No writing whatsoever. But my kitty wee’d on me this morning after not having done that for months, and she kept me up most of the night before. So it’s Patches fault.

TGIF!!! Not that it means a lot to a part-time worker who usually has Firday off, but still…

Daughter is going to a school play tonight - the kids she taught in 2nd grade are seniors this year, and they’re doing Cinderella at the high school, so I’m babysitting while mommy and daddy have a night at the theatah!

I came in to a big pile of stuff on my desk - gonna have a busy day for sure! Guess I should dive right in.

So Happy Firday!!

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up, caffeinated, purtified, and have broken fast so no YAWN. ‘Tis 72 Amurrkin out and cloudyish with a predicted high of 88 and possibly N.O.S. this afternoon. Or it might rain. TWPTB are bein’ willy-nilly today. We broke fast together this mornin’, a thing we have not done in quite a while on a weekday mornin’. I was wide awake at four-thirty, so when OYKW got up to get ready, so did I and we had a McBrekkie together. I’ve been back at da cave for an hour and just now gettin’ around to post. Call me a slacker. In a bit I shall head over to the church house to do candle duty (teachin’ how to change a wick this mornin’) and to haul the biiiiiiiiiiiiig trash can back to where it lives between pickups and knowin’ me probably a couple other things. Sup shall be majik intartoobz pizza.

Happy Firday Y’all!

Took care of the two HOT HOT HOT PRIORITY drawings already - go me! Now I get to work my way thru the piddly pile of changes. That’s why I get the big bucks.

That sounds like a euphemism for a social disease.

“The Doctor gave him an antibiotic for a mild case of French Bananas.”

Only a deeply disturbed mind would associate fruit with a social disease. Or someone who needs more dietary fiber… :stuck_out_tongue:

flytrap, I’ll note that very few bananas are grown in Arkansas, so you also eat of exotic fruits…

Scribe, is the cat ok? Might be a sign of something wrong if it continues.

ruble, I don’t know what Mom used in her recipe, but it was slow-cooked and streaming with juices and soooooo good. Only place that I find palatable for meatloaf now is Logans Roadhouse, and they grill it, so slightly different.

Red, my movie ticket was $6.00; the ‘small’ popcorn and ‘medium’ coke were $10.50. I know where the theatre makes it money…

Rained a little last night and more is expected tomorrow, but N.O.S. today. 71F heading for 86F. Solve the sudoku’s and coach soccer and maybe do a little housework in and around is the plan today.

Got a letter from Sports Illustrated saying I needed to renew my subscription or it might be cancelled. Problem is, my subscription is good until March 2020. Might be a fake, will check with the SI folks at the POC on the website. If they are trying to hustle me for money a year early, they will have a most grumpy subscriber.

Ok, need to prepare sustenance. All y’all take care.

A guy on Kanis road used to grow them. He dug up the root balls each Fall and put them under his house. I haven’t been by in years, so I don’t know if he still grows them.

Happy Firday!

The sun is trying to come out, expecting a high of 81 today with rain later in the day.

Nothing special happening today, pay some bills, clean some house, work in the yard a little, go to the park.
I have a load of laundry soaking, will wash them today.
I have one shirt that I wore when I delivered papers and I’m trying to get ink out of it. Then I stupidly threw a new mostly red dress in with a load yesterday, not realizing that I had two white t-shirts in the washer. My formally white t-shirts are now slightly pink t-shirts. I don’t know if soaking in oxyclean will get the pink out, but it should get the ink out.
All of them are old shirts anyway, so if I end up throwing them away it’s not a big deal.

blurfage TGIF. Irking as usual. I don’t have any big plans for the weekend except watching movies and reading. Happy Weekend all!

Lunch break!! I’s been bizzy this morning! But the day is flying by, so there’s that.

But it’s only 8:30 in the morning! :stuck_out_tongue:

Johnny, ya gotta stop living in the past!!! :stuck_out_tongue:

Our time-share cat was named Patches and so is Wally’s Akida. Its one of those pet names that usually indicates a strong personality.

Durn Leftist.

We know somebody who owns a theatre, two actually) and he said that the distributors take so much of the gate that concessions are where most of the profit comes from.

**FCD **crashed, so I made supper just for me - tuna steak, broccoli, and biscuits. I’m no longer starving! When he wakes up, I’ll throw something together for him.

Meanwhile, chillage shall ensue. Tomorrow will be busy.

ehh days not over yet paid bills went through the usual bs about it

its nice here … nothing exciting going on …
