Sliding into May in the MMP

I tell ya, I have the most interesting conversations at the dog park.

Talking to a guy from l.a., used to be in the crips.
I’d like to have heard more, but someone else came in, so he changed to conversation to a more neutral topic.

Ripple is whipped, we were there for almost three hours. At one point I thought we were leaving, but a new dog came in and he wanted to play some more.

My son got the AC cleaned, I told him we weren’t turning it on until he cleaned it.
Personally, I think we don’t need to yet.

The oxyclean got out the pink, but didn’t get out the ink. I made a stronger solution to soak the shirt again.

Howdy Y’all! I took care of stuff over to the church house and slothed the rest of the day. Majik intartoobz pizza has been consumed. OYKW put a cheesecake in the oven just now. It shall go over to the church house for Sunday brunch along with the usual gallon each of sweet and unsweet tea. He opened his mouth in front of our pew buddies at the last brunch and sorta kinda promised cheesecake so now he must deliver.

I hope Patches is OK scribe.

metal mouse, my last movie ticket was somewhere in the neighborhood of a sawbuck and I almost had to take out a bank loan for a drink and popcorn. :stuck_out_tongue: Re the SI subscription, when my dad took over the household finances after my mom went blind, he found out that there were about a dozen magazines that she was subscribed to years ahead. Every time they sent a renewal notice, she sent a check. Four years after she’s been gone and fifteen after she went blind, he’s still getting a couple.

sari, if the ink isn’t set in, try some rubbing alcohol to get it out (spoken as someone who plays with ink on a daily basis in the studio :stuck_out_tongue: ).

I didn’t get out of irk until a little after three and by the time that I picked up groceries, it was almost six. I figured, WTH, I’ll swing by Popeye’s before I go home and I’ll be in for the night. Oy! Twenty three minutes in the drive thru and there were still two cars ahead of me (there were five when I queued up), so, even though I had ordered, I cut out and went across the street to Sonic and was out of there in 5.5 minutes with a cheeseburger and onion rings. Popeye’s is off the list now (along with the nearest Captain D’s) if there are more than two cars in the drive thru. That ain’t fast food.

I’m finishing the heathen children’s craft up and making the chicken pie other than baking it tomorrow. I still have to go to Tar-jay for some washi tape and hair conditioner whilst the chicken is cooking in the crock.

Evening all. Watching trains (on Virtual Railfan) after soccer coaching and BLT’s (but not at the same time). Rain and Tunder-Boomers are expected tomorrow, but Ali-bama weather can be…unpredictable, so maybe we’ll get the soccer games in.

Red, 23 minutes; they have to go out and catch the fish first? Even Mickey D’s when it stacks up never took that long.

Sari, everybody loves dogs…even ex-crips. Plus you must be an easy person to talk too–probably because you actually listen.

OK, that’s all for tonight–up early tomorrow for soccer (*weather permitting)

Sari hairspray for ink stains. I don’t know about after having been washed but never fails when fresh.

Steak night. Was good. Houseguest did not leave like I was told he was gonna…grumble.

Thank God for Weekend. Happy Weekend All!

My week so far:
“i want my money back for this product and I threw away the receipt!”
“I can look it up, when did you buy it?”
"I don’t know "
: performs Act of God :
“This is taking too long, I’m complaining!”

: Jackass in BMW swerves into my lane at high speed :

“You overcharged me, I want my money back!”
“When did you shop here?”
“I don’t know!”

“Why didn’t you fill <prescription not in system, over the counter item, item doctor denied>?”
“Well, there’s no Rx for those…”
“Don’t you talk to me!”

: garbage disposal develops leak, floods part of kitchen :

: email deletes password, mails me a new one :

On the bright side, the Canes swept the Islanders.
[Carl Spackler]So I got that going for me, which is nice.[/Carl Spackler]
Feel better, Patches!

Nava!
: tacklehug :

There is no greater feeling in the world than being woken by your alarm when you’re really not ready, then realising you only dreamed that the alarm was going off, and you can go back to sleep for another 3 hours.

Anyway, I must purtify for irk. It’s gloriously N.O.S today, and I wish I could go out to play instead, but hopefully it won’t be a long day today.

Last night was an adventure. Even past 8, Roxy was running around like a tiny crazy person. But I got her into her jammies to start her new nighttime routine. Daughter wants to get away from falling asleep on the bottle, so we’ll do a bedtime bottle somewhere other than in the bedroom, and put the baby down after.

I made up her bottle, and when I went to sit in my recliner, Roxy looked really confused - she stood at the end of the hall, ready to go to her room, staring at me. It was rather comical. But she came over to me and had her evening tummy-filler, seeming to drift off at times. When she finished, I carried her back, and she lay her head against me and fell asleep… I thought…

Into the crib, and she fussed a bit, so I stood there, rubbing her back to soothe her (yes, she’s a tummy-sleeper, always has been) and she fell asleep. Until I walked out the door. Then the screaming began. Not crying - screaming as if her bed was on fire! I let it go on for about 10 minutes, hoping she’d quit. Hah!

So I went back, picked her up, and rocked her for about 15 minutes. It took most of 10 minutes for her breathing to go from gasps to a relaxed rhythm, and when I finally put her down, she was out till just a few minutes ago - a 9-hour sleep. We think her teething is causing the crying, etc. We shall see.

Meanwhile, I’ve got to mulch today, do laundry, and help **FCD **in the shop. I expect to be whipped before the day is done. Happy Saturday!

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. YAWN ‘Tis 71 Amurrkin out and cloudy with a predicted high of 86 and possible rain/tstorms/apocalypse this afternoon and tonight. We shall see. Not a lot on the agenda today. A few chores need doin’ so we shall get to those. I shall also make tea for brunch after deheathenization tomorrow. We may or may not go grab a burger at the bar down the road. They make good burgers and we haven’t been in a while. I could go over to the church house and program the sprinklers to water the yahd around the church and hall. However, I could also accomplish that whilst there tomorrow so that might be the plan.

Now I need more caffeine and to feed rumbly tummy. Then, onward into the day. Rah.

Happy Sattidy Y’all!

Up, dog walked, houseguest gone and tis the weekend finally. I may go back to sleep for a while.

Happy weekend All!

Happy Saturday!

We had big thunderboomers last night, lost internet, phone, and tv, but only for a few minutes.
It’s wet outside this morning, supposed to be cloudy with more rain later today.

Thanks for the tips Butters and Red. I don’t have any hair spray, but I do have some rubbing alcohol.

MetalMouse, I usually can talk to anybody about anything. I like hearing other peoples’ stories.
Except the pedophile I used to irk with. Couldn’t even look at him without wanting to hurt him.

I don’t know what all I’m going to do today. Irking now, and I have a bunch of stuff I needed to do yesterday that didn’t get done.
I feel very disorganized lately, and I don’t like it.

butters, the old school hairspray with alcohol will work, but most formulas now taut alcohol free and lack the ingredient that dissolves the ink. (science lesson over, class dismissed :stuck_out_tongue: )

Up, breakfasted, caffeinating, puppy crate cleaned and towels in teh wash waiting for the dryer. Once I get KP done, I’ll shower, suit up and head to Mt. Juliet to Tar-jay and Tuesday Morning. I need to get a new crate bed for Nelson, since his old one didn’t fare too well in the wash after the Great Poo Esplosion on Tuesday. It is old (it came with him from Texas), and has been washed many times, so it’s time.

Happy Star Wars Day!

Happy Derby Day! (I’ll don a floppy hat and toast with a mint julep to my SIL’s recently deceased mother who lived around Louisville for years and adored the Derby)

Whew - break time! I put down 6 bags of mulch (12 cu ft) then mowed the front, back and side yards. **FCD **is at Lowe’s and when he gets back, we’ll start putting up the conduit and pulling wire. It’s overcast, but according to the weather channel, it’s not supposed to rain till tonight. We shall see.

I’s hongree - breakfast was a long time ago. But I’ll wait for my sweetie to get back before having lunch.

I still have Ripple’s bed that came from Oregon, I think his head and shoulders still fit on it.

The sun is coming out, once I am logged out of irk I’m going to open the windows. I close them when I am irking because I have noisy neighbors.

I paid my car insurance, which I meant to pay yesterday and didn’t. It’s due Moonday, so not a problem. It’s taken out automatically, but I wanted it to come out of a different account.
I much to do today, probably most of which won’t get done.

I’ve had four 12-ounce cups of coffee, though not filled to the brim. (It’s hard to drink it when it’s that full.) So I’m guessing I’ve had about 42 to 44 ounces of coffee.

I’ve grated the potatoes, rinsed them, and dried them; and now the hashbrowns are cooking. Bacon’s in the oven. The margarine for Mrs. L.A.'s eggs is melting in a pan, and the water for my poached egg is simmering. Soon we’ll eat.

We’re planning on starting to empty Mrs. L.A.'s storage unit, and moving stuff into the canopy shed. The Tacoma she sold a few weeks ago would be handy today. I have the back seat folded down in the Cherokee, and I have a LoadWarrior rack on top. Good thing I put the rack on a month or so ago!

Soccer was cancelled since it rained hard for two hours completely soaking the fields. It’s dry and N.O.S. now, but too late to restart. So free Saturday. Which I’ll probably do nothing with…

All y’all take care.

I’m at the point that I need to run stuff across the router table to clean up some edges, and then glue some more pieces on. Except I ran out of carpenters glue yesterday, and had to go get the Elmer’s Glue All out of the work room. Trouble is, I can’t get the glue to come out of the bottle in anything more than a tiny squirt. :smack: I may have to do surgery on the bottle. Oh well.
Maybe I can get the cap off the old bottle to fit instead.

I was invited to go help build a yurt today, but I really don’t want to, and they invited about 8 more people than they needed anyway.

Went to Artwalk last night and sold $124 worth of soap, and visited with a lot of friends.
We don’t need the money, but I need socializing, so there’s that.

Happy Satidday y’all.

Got 15 inches of snow 5 days ago, so sliding into May is quite appropriate for where I live.

**FCD **is doing some preliminary work on the conduit. Until he needs my help, I’m doing laundry. Woo and hoo! :stuck_out_tongue:

Still looks dreary, but we’re not supposed to get rain till tonight.

Howdy Y’all! Been mostly a lazy day but did get a couple of household chores done, so there’s that. OYKW had his first dip of the year in the cee-mint pond. I made tea for tomorrow and have strawberries thawin’ for the cheesecake. We et a late N.O.L./early sup at the bar down the street so any further need to feed will be via forage. All in all a nice day.
