Sliding into May in the MMP

Four trips to the storage unit in the Jeep, three hours to move everything. The canopy shed is half full. I think I’ll clean out the back bedroom in the next few weeks, and put the single bed back in it.

Worked a half day, came home, napped. drinking a mint julip, and about to watch the Derby.

Butters, about the hubby!

In the things that raise an eyebrow department… Today I looked over at the vehicle next to me at the light and thought, wow, what a filthy car. Not that mine is all that clean, but I don’t have trash everywhere. Anyway, I saw what I first thought was two rags laying on the dash, but were actually a folded pair of men’s tighty whities and a very large pair of women’s red lace panties.
Not that it is any of my business.

I wasted part of the day by taking a nap, but I needed it.

Dear Mr. Bear, you is a looong way from New Yawk. Make you a deal, I won’t make grits & you don’t make cheesecake, mmmmkay? Of all the ways to ruin a perfectly good cheesecake, that is about the worst of 'em.

I turned on the tube earlier & the derby show was on. I looked it up, it was still a little over an hour til the race. Turned off the tube & went to the sto. Missed the race. I’d join you in the julep but don’t have the mint leaves; guess I’ll just have straight Jim Beam.
Oh wait a sec, I have one of these that I’ll quaff this evening.

Just curious, was the driver Meatloaf or maybe John Valby?
Steaks (of the sam’ich variety) for dinner.
Knew of two food twuck festivals today, < 5 miles apart. One was free to enter while the other was $5 for the privilege of buying food. Actually ended up at another place that had an outdoor festival/science fair & there were ½-dozen food twucks there, & I was hongry but the lines were super long so I walked on.

what happened i heard it was a mess?

Well, the rainy weekend forecast was bs cause it’s sunny and warm … only thing the weather people got right is it’s windy … which in the high desert is like predicting the sun will rise tomorrow …

sari, in addition to the queen sized bed he sleeps in at night, Nelson has three beds: one in the studio, one in his crate and one on the shotgun seat of the car. Long as he’s comfy. :stuck_out_tongue:

I made the trip to Mt. Juliet. Nelson’s new bed is seafoam blue, memory foam, and converts to a doggy cave. SIL came over for a bit to have a mint julep and watch the derby in a floppy hat. :stuck_out_tongue:

I made my mom’s recipe for chicken pie, double batch, for supper here at home and one to bake while I’m in the shower tomorrow to take to the potluck. There was enough filling and biscuits leftover for a half casserole dish of it for the freezer, so’s I put one up there for a thaw and bake meal down the road.

When I started to wash up while the chicken pie was in the oven, I found that my kitchen sink was backed up. I got the standing water gone with the plunger and poured some draino down. I’m fixing to flush it with cold water now. Crossing appendages that I don’t have to call maintenance and leave dirty dishes until Monday.

Three hot wings, half a shredded beef taco salad, and two 20 oz. ‘Cadillac’ margaritas. Whee, doggie!

I may fall asleep on the couch.

The car has a slight oil leak; I suspect when they did the 105k the mechanic may have not done the filter quite right. I could try to lift it and get under but am going to wait it out maybe.

On worse news I’, not even close to the top of the next page. :frowning:

Evening all. Dry during the afternoon but raining again, so my plans to mow the yard on Sunday may have suffered a setback. Did go out and pay some bills, then ruble’s talking earlier this week about meatloaf sent me to Logan’s Roadhouse for dinner, so I am properly stuffed.

Not a julep drinker (not much of a drinker at all), and not a big hoss’ racin’ fan, so I missed the Derby. Did make it up by watching the last hour of Secretariat, so I guess that counts.

All y’all have a good night now.

I don’t know if that improves Bud, or wrecks a perfectly good bourbon barrel. But I had Knob Creek bourbon in my Julip.

Maximum Effort was DQed for bumping another horse. Apparently horse racing is a no checking League.:dubious:

WHEE!!!:stuck_out_tongue:

But I am! :stuck_out_tongue:
I is not a horse [del]racing[/del] fan myself. But I is good luck at the track. On the day I was born [del](the nurses all gathered round)[/del], my cousin went to the horse track with her then boyfriend. All she knew at that point was I was born & I was a he; didn’t know my name or other stats yet. They bet on any horse with “boy” in the name…& won. He also proposed to her that night (& they’re still married all these years later.)

doggio, that was a good, respectable bourbon you had there. Mine was made with Bullit and mint gathered from SIL’s garden.

The chicken pie was good, as were the green beans that I fixed on the side. I got the sink unclogged and the washing up done, so’s no maintenance call needed.

Haven’t had their Bourbon yet. But the Rye is good(neat or in a Manhattan)

I spent yesterday evening, and most of the day today at the Godzilla and Friends Film Festival. Saw a number of shorts and five feature films. Plus, since I was on the committee I passed out prize tickets, helped judge the kids coloring contest, and the roar contest, and did a lot of fetch and carry. I had a great time. I even would have won a prize, but when my number was drawn I told them to pick another, I had just wanted the thrill of hearing my ticket called. Then, when it was all over tonight I helped break down the stuff and carry it to the car of the guy who is head of the committee. I am tired but after the week I had I was glad to have some real fun.

One of the prizes we had was a signed and framed poster from Svengoolie. We all gathered around and took a group photo with the winner in the middle. It will be sent to the website and so maybe it will get on TV sometime. Maybe.

Up stoopit early because stoopit bladder. But Roxy has slept thru the last 2 night’s so at least I had good, uninterrupted sleep. Today will be spent working in the shop. Luckily, it doesn’t matter if it rains. I don’t think it rained overnight - guess I’ll find out when it’s light out.

Happy Sunday!!!

it’s only 2:30 here and yall getting up ? yeesh …

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. YAWN ‘Tis 70 degrees out and rainy with a predicted high of 85 and partly cloudy for the day. Does partly cloudy also mean partly N.O.S.? Weather terms be weird. Today we shall deheathenate followed by first Sunday brunch, so we shall eat well. I shall also set the sprinkler system to start doin’ its thing three days a week early mornin’ whilst there. Yes, I know, rainy this mornin’ and I’m talkin’ about turnin’ on sprinklers. Who knows what else the day may bring.

Spidey I don’t make cheesecake, OYKW does. It is a very good, dense, and heavy cheesecake. Also very rich, so a little bit will do ya, at least for me. I take it you do not like a toppin’ for cheesecake. Also, make all the grits you want, just don’t put sugar in 'em. That is an abomination.

CupCakes glad you had a good time at the film festival!

Now I need more caffeine and to feed rumbly tummy. Then purtification for deheathenization must commence.

Happy Sunday Y’all!

Out of bed. Critters have been tended to. We got rain - not a huge amount, but enough for a half-size driveway puddle. Yes, that’s our rain gauge.

I’m just caffeinating because I don’t know if **FCD **will want to go get breakfast or not. I’m letting him sleep in because I’m nice, dammit!

Up, caffeinated, and sheveled. Off to work. Raining today.

Happy Sunday!

It’s raining, hard.

I saw Antlers out on the neighbor’s porch this morning and since (s)he didn’t run, I took out some canned food. As I thought, now Adam wants canned food. Amazing what a little competition will do for picky eaters. We tried to keep Adam in as long as we could so Antlers could eat.

I’m tired this morning. I feel asleep sitting up on the couch last night, my neck is still sore. After I went up to bed, a car alarm went off and it took forever for somebody to shut it up. I had lots of weird dreams, and several bladder calls.
It’s going to be a grumpy day.
I can take a nap later.
