Are you kidding, darling? I’ve beat that game forwards backwards and upside down. After I beat it legitimately I went back and cheated so I could get all of the strongholds. I’ve played it multiple times.
I actually played BG II and the expansion first, then at a later date went back and played BG I. I love the game.
Matter of fact, it might be a good time to start it again.
MBG, can I ask a stupid question? What exactly is a podcast? I am vaguely aware it is something you download for your iPod, but other than that, I have no idea.
And do you listen to your iPod at work on your computer? I can’t download iTunes. But it occurs to me - I wonder how big the program is? I wonder if it’s something I can put on a zip disk and then run off the zip disk here. Otherwise, I have no way of listening to my iPod at work?
Herbs I think Mindude just said you’re sweet and smell good.
I’m back from da ‘Burg. I left it in one piece. There’s a property auction goin’ on on the courthouse steps and the Methodist ladies are havin’ a luncheon today. I have legal car tags for the next year. The little stickies are on all three tags now. This year they are white with blue letters. Last year’s were pink with black letters. Oh, and the utilities people still ain’t set up for online bill payment. The lady at the at the counter told me they would be by the first of next year. Hey, usually the answer is, “soon, we hope” so maybe things are lookin’ up. The new McDonald’s is open too. Da 'Burg now has a McD’s, a Krystal, a Hardee’s, a Subway and a Krispy Kreme. Rumor has it Booger King will build shortly. Da ‘Burg is boomin’! Have I mentioned that there are now two count ‘em two traffic lights in town now? Now that’s up and comin’!
I stopped at the little farmer’s market whilst there. I got two nice lookin’ medium sized watermelons for tomorrow’s doin’s and two purty cantaloupes.
It’s been nearly 2 hours since I called and was told I was next stop for the techs. No, he/they haven’t shown up yet. It’s starting to get warm. I’m about to call again. I know doggone well they won’t come tomorrow, and I don’t want to waste any more vacation days. They better get here pronto. I am displeased, which, as you all know, is one step away from mightily miffed, and a mere 2 steps from royally pissed off.
Criminy, if they’d told me it wouldn’t be till this afternoon or something, I wouldn’t care. But don’t tell me I’m next and that they’re probably on their way. LIAR LIAR PANTS ON FIRE!!!
Morning, all. Barely. I stayed up too late last night cause it was really my first chance to get much productive work done without interruption. Poor Papa Tigs, he came home from work SO grouchy and SO miserable, and the muscle spasms in his arm were at least twice as bad as they’d been Sunday. But would he be sensible and stay home today? Yeah, right, sure. So I massaged his arm as best I could to get it to where he could at least try to sleep. But he could hardly use his arm, so every time he needed to do anything, I had to get up and do it for him.
At least he has tomorrow off!
Other than that, I got nuttin’ much this morning. Except to add to the chorus for kai that a root canal isn’t nearly as bad as you fear – I’ve had a couple, and frankly, what I remember most about them is the feeling of relief when the tooth stops hurting. So don’t worry, it’s mostly long and uncomfortable (from holding your mouth open so long), but the root canal itself will probably be far less painful than the tooth pain you’re feeling!
I do have I-tunes on my laptop which helps, but I don’t think is necessary. A podcast is basically either a video, or audio file that sits and you can listen to anytime. On I-Tunes, I know you can ‘subscribe’ to podcats - for example - everytime there’s a new “All Things Considered”, and if you check the right box, it automatically downloads it for you the next time you open I-tunes.
Some news sites - I THINK NPR in fact, have a link on their page where you can download recent broadcasts, and play them in Media Player.
I don’t listen to the I-Pod on the computer, I bought one of those Pod Players you can find at Best Buy or anywhere. I pop the I-Pod into it, and it charges and plays all the time.
I normally don’t listen to podcasts or subscribe, but since I’m music-less today, I’m catching up on some interesting looking NPR and ESPN radio shows from earlier this week.
Mika - You know how some websites, or online news programs/papers or whathaveyou, record a kind of online radio show? That, more or less, is a podcast, just a daily/weekly/monthly/occasional (depending on the source’s schedule) “broadcast” you can subscribe to and download, like an RSS feed, only for audio (and video, too; video podcasts are also fairly popular. I get NASA’s weekly video podcast myself.)
You can also listen to podcasts directly on your computer, Meeks; I have yet to bother to download them and put them on my iPod, I just plug my headphones in and listen to them online. Not that I listen to many, but basically since it’s just an audio file that I’m only going to listen to once, why bother to go through all the trouble of downloading it when I can listen without having to?
Like they said - I never put them on my I-Pod, I only ever listen to them on the computer then dump them. Most of the ones I listen to are daily radio shows anyway.
I’m still next on the list. Apparently the first job this morning required 2 techs and they’re both still there. Once they’re done, they split up and mine will come here. 'Cept he’ll prolly stop for lunch first. But such is life. It’s still kinda cool, but it’s definitely warmer than when I got up. I shall be Zen.
Plus, you know, if it’s all warm and stuff, I’ll have to cool down with ice cream, right?
Well, I reckon you could just call me Arky; in the pit I’m usually referred to as effing moron or something.
Since we’re in extremely MPSIMS, I might as well explain my handle…(for those for whom it’s not obvious):
It’s actually a threefold play on words, firstly, I was born and raised in Arkansas, and Arkansans are commonly referred to as Arkies. Second, there’s a line in the Sex Pistols’ Anarchy in the UK that says “I wanna be anarchy”, so it’s a homonym of that. Thirdly, there’s that silly “Gonna build me an arky, arky” song.
Hi there, freshly-converted MMPers! throws confetti about in honor of Maggie and Arky
Well, there’s still about twenty minutes left of morning here, so I think I can officially say Good Morning to you all, right? Today’s plans involve seeing the Fantastic Four sequel with my dad, visiting a friend I haven’t seen in a while, and joyously pouncing upon Ali the moment I see him this evening.
Speaking of which… It’s really starting to hit me. I’m moving in with him tomorrow. Holy freaking WHOA. It’s one of those situations where it sounds so idyllic and wonderful in your head, like a good dream – and then when you realize it’s going to be real, you really have no idea how to cope with it and completely freeze up. Apparently I’m just one of those people who doesn’t know how to take good news.
(afternoon to the UKers here–and our Israeli correspondent)
I am off to the shrink with daughter-daughter no longer wants to see said shrink (she has OCD), so this is our last meeting. Said shrink is a wee neurotic, if you ask me: hair down to her ass, wears 80s style Lady Diana dresses (think Laura Ashley on steroids), and talks about field hockey-a lot. We only see her for the meds, but no more meds, so…
I go to the pulmanologist today. I really don’t feel that much better, if truth be told. I do need to go to work this week to be able to afford this illness, though. Interesting conundrum.
So glad the car has its stickers, the techs are on their way (I was shaking, fearing the impending wrath of** FCM**).
Welcome all newbies! Jump right in, the water’s fine.
Mork, I love that you referred to me as both Hank and Haze in the same post.
Morning all. So last night, in a fit of boredom, I went to OKCupid.com and created a profile and stuff. And was immediately bombarded by messages. Apparently there are many people up at 1am, combing OKCupid for potential matches. Out of about seven messages there was only one who vaguely interested me, mostly because his message was not written all in lower-case and had correct punctuation as well. Didn’t know correct grammar was so hard to find. (Shallow of me? Hey, I’m an English teacher.)
Hugs to Roo, and welcome to the [del]fresh meat[/del] new MMPers.
MindDude, I meant to say I really like the picture of the moon.
I had a very nice night last night with the apartment all to myself. I had Papa John’s pizza. (KeithT doesn’t like chain restaurants when there are so many great local restaurants… which is true, but sometimes one just wants the chain stuff! So I got my fix last night.)
Given the above, and my general enjoyment of a little alone time once in a while, my advice to **meli **and **ali **would be to establish a schedule that gives each of you some alone time in your apartment. Time when one of you is off at work or doing some sort of hobby or (even better in my opinion) a weekend every few months when one of you goes away and the other has some down time. I know it can sound unnecessary - like if you love each other enough you shouldn’t need time apart - but trust me, it helps preserve your sanity! It’s just nice once in a while to compromise on what to eat, what to watch on tv, whose turn it is to do the dishes, etc.
