Now, if you were truly arguing valid points you would have walked right on by such an obvious ploy. But you couldn’t. Because this isn’t about defending your religion, world view or anything else. This is about you gratuitously and childishly insulting people without having a single point.
The Pit is the place for rough stuff but it usually gets rough because people are valiantly defending something they firmly believe in. What is it you are defending? Nothing. What point are you trying to make? None.

I’m not going to tell you or anyone else what to do. I agree with Jodi: don’t get into it with him until (or if) he raises a point. I think this has been very entertaining as far as a bashing party goes but it’s five pages now and he hasn’t really responded to anything on point or made one himself.
I think he’s not going to be here all that much longer. Most trolls have a very short life span.

Yeah, I saw that Drain. It fell so flat I didn’t think it was worth correcting. He would have a hard time convincing me that Afghanistan is an example of democracy gone wrong. He’d have a hard time convincing me that it’s even a democracy.
Normally I try not to intervene in threads like these. And I know that this is the Pit and a certain level of insult-hurling and flaming is acceptable and even encouraged at some levels. But in my experience, when a thread becomes people tossing gratuitous insults around, it usually signifies the end of a thread.
In his last few posts, Sneevil has described various posters as a “walking afterbirth”, “dumbshit”, a “hermaphrodite”, a “wack job”, a “bag of skin” and a “slut”. There’s no argument left. It’s just name calling.
Unless I hear a compelling reason not to, I’m gonna close this thread by the end of the day.

au contraire. I’m quite willing to engage in civil discourse with anyone at anytime. Unfortunately, that quality is not usually reciprocated here. I will be the first to take responsibility for my part in the escalation. IMHO, however, “I didn’t start the fire.” My sin was to overreact to intolerant and spiteful remarks.

I agree Alphagene. It was fun insulting him, and that lymerick was hard to resist, but we’ve tenderized the horse quite enough. It’s getting old.

IIRC, the Torah aka the Old Testament falls under the Old Covenant. It would seem to me that Christians would/should be more guided by the New Testament, wherein Jesus says in the Sermon on the Mount (Matt 22: 37-39) “You shall love the Lord your God with all you heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind. This is the great and foremost commandment. The second is like it, ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself’”. He goes on to say in verse 40: “On these two commandments depend the whole Law and the Prophets.”
Now (also IIRC) the OT (Torah) exhorted the Jews to apply the law only to other Jews. Gentiles were not included and could be treated differently (outside the law). OTOH, the principle in the NT apply to all mankind.
