So we made a hasty getaway.
But…We ran into a fast moving stream
So we all clung to the dog as he dog-paddled downstream.
But…We ran into rapids.
So we got torn away from the dog, and each fended for himself, including the dog.
But…a catfish bit my head and took me down to his underwater lair.
So he showed me his collection of autographed first-edition Isaac Asimov novels, and I have to say I was impressed by how little water damage they’d suffered.
But Foundation was crumbling badly and I, Robot had gotten somewhat rusty down there.
So…we found a way out the back door.
But we were then faced with an underwater pineapple and its resident sea sponge, who welcomed us with a big smile.
So after a quick and delicious visit to the Krusty Krab, we decided it was time to head back to the surface.
But…we had to swim through a forest of kelp.
So we started swinging our underwater machetes to make our way through.
But the kelp turned out to be the tentacles of a sea monster.
So every time we slashed a tentacle, two more grew back.
But…there were many if us and we got through the kelp/tentacles without so much as a scratch.
So when we finally reached the surface you can appreciate, I’m sure, that we were more than a little perturbed to see that there was no ship in sight.
But we did find the dog…
So…We headed for the vet.
But it was a “Cats Only” vet, and they wouldn’t even look at the dog.
