I’ve never known a gay man to wear a thumb ring.
Wait a sec: dresses well, smells good, thumb ring - is QuickSilver in the Mafia?

Well, you can lose the vest but the mustache seems to be working for you, in a straight, Snidely Whiplash kind of way.
As for Harley, how long have you two been in the relationship?
Now I’m just counting the minutes until someone comes along and starts a “slash” hijack in response to this. Go ahead…you know you want to.
Now, let me tell you my theory about Gillian’s Island and The Professor…
Stranger
Given that the steamroom and sauna are both at the “Y,” this question becomes moot.
Exactly
Personally, I would like to hear your theory, but I haven’t seen any slash or yaoi since page one, so I guess it hasn’t caught on.
No, keep the moustache, and wear a t-shirt around the office with the words “FREE MOUSTACHE RIDES” on the front.
That should take care of things.
If that won’t work, I’d definitely lose the thumb ring. But God Forbid, don’t change it out for a pinky ring instead. I’ve seen guys with those, but never a thumb ring.
Have you guys never heard of the concept of a straight guy being just gay enough? A good smelling, well-dressed man I can go jewellery shopping with sounds pretty much perfect to me.
My husband was a drama major in college. In one of my psychology classes, one of the cotton between the ears frat boys came out with the sweeping statement that “all male drama majors are queers.” I nearly choked to death because I knew that one of his frat brothers was sneaking around with one of the drama majors who WAS gay.
Because I feel bad about inadvertantly hijacking QuickSilver’s thread. I’ll put up a link to it here in a minute, and it’ll link back here. If anyone wants to continue the discussion, please follow me to the new thread.
Oh, and Scott_Plaid , please see my rebuttal there.
Sorry QuickSilver :o
Rebuttal How can you have a rebuttal when the nature of a human is to see support for their opinion everywhere they go? Oh well, I will keep my eyes out for his opinion that fans of homosexual subtext is somehow “BS”.
And it was the rudest thing on Earth if you didn’t have sex with your same sex guests. It didn’t mean anything, it was just a form of hygiene. And nobody actually ejaculated during sex of any kind until the 1930s.
I’m an “in the middle” acting gay guy (i.e. you’d probably think I might or might not be gay if you first met me- nothing flaming and nothing closeted) but a surprising number of people have assumed I was gay because I wear a pinky ring.
Ironically, the reason I wear a pinky ring has nothing to do with fashion: it’s a simple gold ankh ring given to me 20 years ago that has immense sentimental (though not of a romantic nature) value and that will only fit on my pinky. (I could have it enlarged I suppose, but that would cost money and also mess with its form.) While I don’t mind people knowing or assuming that I’m gay, it’s interesting that the ring is such a “giveaway” when it isn’t at all.
The new thread; Gay subtext in stories
ARRRRRRRGGHHHHH!!!
Scott_Plaid, Why don’t you actually READ my posts you…
I NEVER SAID ANYTHING PEJORATIVE ABOUT GAYS, I NEVER SAID THERE IS SOMETHING WRONG WITH HAVING GAYS IN A STORY, I SAID AS MUCH IN MY FIRST REPLY IN THIS THREAD, AND THE VERY NEXT ONE AFTER THAT!!!
I said that it bothers me that things which don’t conform to the masculine image currently portrayed by the mainstream media are often quickly labeled as gay, even though the basis for it is often taken from highly flawed reasoning.
QuickSilver, you have no idea how truly sorry I am to have hijacked you’re thread so much and started this nonsense here.
I AM NOT LOOKING FOR A FIGHT! If you want to calmly debate the matter, without resorting to not-so-subtle implications I’m a homophobe, then please continue to the thread I have started specifically for that subject.
I put it in IMHO, as it doesn’t seem GD-worthy, and it definitely doesn’t seem MPSIMS appropriate (though I guess it would’ve also fit in Cafe Society).
Good Day sir!
Dude. It’s called “decaf.”
There have been like four responses to your literary post on the PREVIOUS PAGE, and about forty more in line with the OP. Hijack? This is no hijack. Calm down. And, last I checked, there’s no particular sin in hijacking a thread in MPSIMS. Which this isn’t. A hijack, that is. Good day to you, too, sir.
I never said you were homophobic. That is your reading non-existent subtext into my post, based upon what you expected to find, kinda like a person reading the story of ruth, and seeing an attraction between Ruth and Naomi
What I said was, you are a jerk for saying the following,
Basically, you are in effect saying, “How dare you fans of a book, or a series read meanings into a story which perhaps the author did not intend!” Now, in your own thread, you conceded that people have the right to read what meaning they would like into a story, which contradicts your post above. I can only conclude you have taken a chill pill since then.
P.S. When someone starts arguing a point, generally, they will finish that point in the same thread, so that on-lookers don’t have to wonder about the conclusion of the argument. Hijacking only occurs only when others are willing to comment on an interesting point, and due to the fact is generally interesting, it is no great sin. That being said, I will now post in your thread to dispute the idea that Relena has any future with Heero.
How dare you! This is MY thread. I’ll be the judge of what’s a hijack and what isn’t! Thankyouverymuch…
What were we talking about again?
PS
Your name needs fixing, I think
You say;
Okay, well…
Well, how am I supposed to interpret that ? Okay, maybe not technically homophobic, but I think it’s a fair reading to take that as you saying I have something against gay people, hence my reaction previously.
Doh! that last one was for Scott_Plaid
