It just luuuuurves you! Also, it’s desperate to get into your house so it can take over there, too.
I got tired, so I’m taking a rest before going for a walk. It’s partly sunny. Hopefully that won’t prod the lupus beast.

Gotti I hope it gets easier soon.
Nettie Condolences on the passing of your MiL.
Taters I loathe Daylight Savings. Let’s just pick one time and move on with our lives.
Mooommmm Wisteria can be a pain. I don’t mind it if it flowers. I ripped out one that wouldn’t though. Too much work.
It’s actually raining here, sorta. It was about 40 this morning, and there’s snow in the hills. My aunt’s father passed away today. I don’t have all of the details, but I believe it was COVID related. Someday we’ll get to the other side of this.
Take care everyone.
Listen to Boo, Mom. My cardiologist was adamant that I switch from taking naproxen to taking acetaminophen. I don’t remember why he said that. The naproxen worked some better for me. #le sigh#
(I still sneak an ibuprofen now and then.)
I hears ya about the wisteria, Mom. We have the same problem in the valley with blackberries, and english ivy, and some crap our next door neighbor keeps planting up against the fence that keeps falling down. (the fence, not the neighbor.) She’s nice enough otherwise, but she’s obsessed with planting things.
Now I want street tacos.
Some days I feel like we’re living in a very slow-moving Hollywood disaster movie.
Only it’d be panned by the critics for not being even remotely believable.
Congratulations, evil spaceperson!
Nettie, I’m sorry for your family’s loss.
I feel like my brains are about to leak out my ears. I’ve been heads down all day, trying to finish something up for someone way more important than I am.
The skies are about to open up for about 3 days. I’m okay-ish with that. It is spring after all, but it’s going to be impossible to get anyone out of their beds on time until the weekend when I can cease caring for a couple of days. Now to figure out what might be for dinner. I think I’m going to wait until later to visit my mom. She & I just spent about 4 hours together. Not that I minded, but I’m tired, darnit.
Tuesday:
BOOM. SQUEAL. BOOM. SQUEAL. Yip Yip Yip
30 minute maintenance interlude
Wednesday:
BOOM. SQUEAL. BOOM. SQUEAL. Yip Yip Yip
RUMBLE RUMBLE RUMBLE
30 minute maintenance interlude
Can’t wait to see what they throw at us(possibly literally) tomorrow.
Yay!
Cool!
The late Lucrezia D. Hellcatt liked to set herself on fire.
Good to hear!

{{{nellie}}} I’ve been seeing a youngish (under 40) guy on the way home from irk that is riding a tricycle (the ones popular in Florida). He wears dark glasses, so I’m guessing that his vision won’t allow him to drive a car. He’s always riding in the bike lane about a mile down the street from WalMart when I see him. I think that’s his version of your rollie cart.
I’m sorry about your MIL seanette Hugs to you and DH.
herald, the first school desk is what we had in elementary school.
taters, while I outgrew naps by the time I was ~3, Mom made me take a quiet break in the afternoon anyway until I went to school. There were four kids younger than me in the house, even at 4 years old, so I’m pretty sure that it was her solution to watching her stories in peace.
shoe
bumba, doc switched me to acetaminophen a few years back because of the kidneys. Tylenol takes longer to destroy your liver than NSAIDS do your kidneys if you’re diabetic.
Irked through a day of frustration today. I had IT issues on top of getting backdated counts wrapped up (bosses just got the last of them approved today) whilst trying to do all of the crap scheduled for today and the last two hours of yesterday. Oy!
Last evening, I just told the neighbor no on phone usage. Lending someone my phone would be akin to giving them access to my purse and / or financial information. If I had had a landline, I would have allowed it, but yeesh! phones a pretty personal. I don’t know if she was trustworthy or just clueless AF.
Stay safe and healthy y’all!
I took a walk after work. I was going to make three laps around the park (2 miles total), but I decided to take a slightly longer route where I come up the beach. I walked on the new berm (in progress) for the first time. The photo of the 2018 storm in the link shows why they’re (finally) building a berm.
I can tell I haven’t been walking for a while, especially getting up the hill to the house. Anyway, 2.11 miles.
Someone asked about “Moon Unit” above. That’s the MMP name for Harmonica Moon.
Cookie, great news. So wash something already!
doggio, great sound effects there.
NO soccer practice tonight, but I went out there anyway to check on the7U boys practice (I’m coordinating that division) and ended up doing some coaching anyway, then came home to find that one of my 10U Girls had been switched and replaced (probably couldn’t make it to practice) and no one had told me. Got in touch with the new player and it’s cool, but after trying to hard to keep all my coaches in the loop…
Still waiting for the league to publish the schedule for this weekend…they promised it for Wednesday, but we’re running out of day now (just peeked again, still nothing).
Dinner has been consumed and stuff watched on the TeeVee, so internettin’ and maybe some readin’ will finish off the day. No nappage, so I ought to sleep good tonight.
All y’all take care.
Cue my semi-annual “Standard, Daylight, split the difference, pick something else altogether, I don’t care, just pick something and STICK WITH IT!!!” rant.
@purplehorseshoe, maybe a GoFundMe to help you with that document cost? I get paid tomorrow. Can’t throw in a huge amount, but could help at least a little.
Howdy Y’all! I took care of [s]church janitor]/s] Junior Warden stuff, met with EYP about the HVAC replacements, procured groceries, and et sup. This was a bzzzy day for me! Tomorrow I shall finalize the deal with the HVAC folks and then get to deal with the fun of watchin’ it all get installed. I know y’all are just green with envy cause I get to do that.
I read all but retained little, so yays, boos, hugs, nougies, trouts, chitlins, and how you doin’s all around as needed.
I walked 6 miles, then came home and baked cookies. The former manager here got bumped up to a luxury high-rise and invited me to come for a tour. He was kind to me when he was here, so I decided to bake him some cookies. (M&M). Now I’m so tired, the trip to the bathtub seems daunting. Suck it up, Nellie. (That was my inner drill sergeant. She seems a lot like Moooom, though, so I like her.)
Also, I could NOT get off the phone. My nephew called during my walk, followed immediately by Old Flame, followed immediately by my daughter. And I have about 20 texts to catch up on. Some days the phone is comatose, then days like today happen.
And for you cat lovers (Isn’t that all of us?), I was listening to an old Jeopardy! episode, and one of the contestants said a gray tabby cat kept showing up on his driveway every morning until he decided she’d adopted him. He called her New York Times because she’s a gray lady who showed up on his driveway every day. Don’t you love it?
Oh, my gosh, I LOATHE Daylight Savings. When I was teaching, it took the kids a full week to get adjusted: in the meantime, they were sleepy and miserable. I always said I’d run for president on a “Stick to One Time” platform and would step down as soon as I convinced 48 states to drop DST. WWI is long over, and DST actually costs us money. My students all said they’d vote for me. Down with Stupid Time!
Cookie, yay on the functioning washer!
Flyboy, day-um that’s some mighty wave action there.
Red, I’d love to ride a bike. My kids pointed out I still need better peripheral vision, but I admire the cut of that guy’s jib. I wish I could drive my rollie cart. Meep, meep!
doggio, as always, you crack me up.
Ack! So much to read!
Hugs to {{nettie and DH}}.
I just lost a battle with a tetra-pak, which did not flatten correctly. So it’s in the trash, but not flat.
And my husband’s confused himself. Instead of using the warmed up mug on top of the espresso machine, he put my latte in the mug he got down while sorting out the bags of coffee.
Might be the long days (8-7) or the sameness of it all. We have Monday off and we scheduled vacation for the year. Don’t expect to leave the country before June, due to missing vaccines, passport renewals and complicated border crossings.
And this week starts the yearly confusion, because SOME country decided to start DST early, before Europe, so we have 2 weeks of being confused (is it 8 or 10 hours between here and the Pacific coast) before we return to the normal levels of confusion (9 hours).
Was supposed to improved this year, but this pandemic seems to have distracted the governments.
I’m getting on the meatloaf train today, so I have to put that together and bake it. And we need to go to the beverage center before hubby runs out of cokes.
Happy Day of Thor!
Up, caffeinated, and sheveled. Off to sort and heave.
Riddle me this - why does my night brain set me in situations that take place in the house where I grew up? I left home in 1973. My folks sold that house in 1979. I can’t even remember the last time I drove past. Still, I have far-too-frequent nocturnal visits there that absolutely could not have happened, sometimes in rooms that absolutely did not exist. I think my night brain has issues…
Today is FCD’s shot day. Huzzah!! I’ll celebrate by doing laundry this morning. I don’t want to go grubbing in the yard then have to clean up to go with him, so I shan’t grub till after we return. Besides, my laundry basket overfloweth. I also have to help him change the filters in the HVAC units in the shop - help as in he’ll be on the ladder removing/installing the filters in the ceiling vents so I’ll be his floor-level connection. They’re 10’ ceilings - we’ll need the BIG ladder!
More raking this afternoon, since I didn’t nearly finish what I’d hoped to get done yesterday. And I’m thinking pulled poke for supper, since I have some in the freezer just begging to be thawed and ingested.
doggio - happy heaving!
everybody else - Happy Thursday!!
Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. YAWN ‘Tis 46 Amurrkin out and clear with a predicted high of 79 and N.O.S. for the day. I shall finalize HVAC stuff today and I have a meetin’ to discuss Worship Miistries via Microsoft Team Meetings this evenin’. Fortunately the meetin’ will last only thirty minutes. Sup shall be majik intartoobz pizza with sallit, cause sallit makes it healthy.
Happy FCD shot day! Jawja has expanded vaccinations to teachers and staff, adults with intellectual disabilities and their caregivers, and parents of children with complex medical situations. The more folks eligible the better, I say.
Now I need more caffeine and to feed rumbly tummy. Then, onward into the day! Rah.
Happy Thursday Y’all!
Good morning! It’s my Friday, and I am happy about that. Now, I just need the day to speed by and not be interrupted by work silliness. That’s a pipe dream, but one can hope.
I am looking forward to the weekend, although I know I’ll be exhausted, lol! I’ve gotten so used to quiet weekends, that when bursts of “people” happen, I am tired. I am seriously thinking about asking for Monday off, but I know if I do that, I’ll be kicking myself on Tuesday. I need to take a good hard look at workload and due outs and see if it’ll be worth it.
I was hoping the knee problem would clear up, but it hasn’t; damn it. I think I’ll give it through the weekend, and if there isn’t a noticeable improvement, I’ll grit my teeth and call the doctor. I hate going to the doctor.
First load in the dryer, second in the washer, and 2 more on deck, tho I think I’ll put off jeans till tomorrow. And it turns out the HVAC filter in the shop are washable - huzzah! I little high-pressure air, and all the crud has been blown out. The hardest part of the chore was unfolding the ladder.
We leave in a bit over an hour for the Hollywood VFD lot where they’re shooting COVIDs. His appointment is at 10:15 and from my experience, it moves smoothly and quickly. At that point, load 3 will be in the washer, and load 2 in the dryer, but it’s t-shirts, so it doesn’t matter if they don’t get pulled out right away.
Good day so far!
Taters - I know what you mean about going to the doctor. Especially orthopedists in this county - I’ve been less than impressed. Hope it’s not a huge deal. Knee issues sucketh mightily.
Mrs Magill had her appointment with the hematologist yesterday. They took a lot of blood, she compared it to the amount of blood the OB took when she was pregnant with Fang. They found that not only was her white cell count low, but her red cell count was, too. They took a bone marrow biopsy from her hip. I think she’s trying to quietly not freak out.
In other news, I completed my fifty-first lap around the sun about an hour ago. By my count that’s 18,627 consecutive days without dying once. Logically*, this means I’m immortal.
* For very bad values of logic.
