So, what are you doing at home on Saturday night?

I’m dragging an industrial rental carpet cleaner all over the house, and working up a sweat. I’ve moved furniture and the TV and stand out of the way. I’ve vacuumed up enough hair to knit a new cat, and emptied out three buckets of utterly gross, brown water from the machine. And I’ve only done the living room and hall! My trigger finger and my arms are sore from squeezing and dragging, and I want to quit, but I have four more rooms to do.

My wife, on the other hand, is with friends, watching Dr. Who episodes.

What are you guys doing?

I’ve made colcannon, and I’m going to eat some with a slice of lamb soon. I’ve saved a container of two slices of lamb and some colcannon for my roommate. The rest of the lamb has been minced, mixed with vegetables, gravy, and sautéed onions. It will go into a baking dish, be topped with the rest of the colcannon, and baked as shepherd’s pie tomorrow.

I’m also reading More Readings From One Man’s Wilderness: The Journals of Richard L. Proenneke 1974-1980. I may watch an episode of The Monkees.

i’ve been to the cord/dusenburg/auburn car museum in fort wayne, indiana today, driven a friend’s 2004 corvette back down to indianapolis, and now i’m scarfing chicken cacciatore and scoping the dope.

I just got through assembling a new dresser. I’m beside myself with joy. Dumb, I know, but I was sooo happy to take stuff off of hangers to make room in the closet for the 3 suits and 5 shirts my husband just had to buy.

Now that I’m through with that whole mess (which included moving my bookcase filled with a few hundred pounds of textbooks) I’m lazily outlining my paper due Monday night. It’s a creative writing assignment of historical fiction, so I’m having way too much fun with it. And it’s 60% of my grade!

Eating ice cream and watching Shrek.

My boyfriend’s not back from his vacation till Wednesday night. It’s been two weeks, and I’m lonely, hence the ice cream and cartoons.

I’m posting to the Dope. Duh.

I put in two tomato plants tonight, though, only a week or so later than I had intended. I think they’ll catch up, though, they’re both quick maturers. I meant to get one yellow cherry and one regular sized red (to pick while green and make fried green tomatoes out of), but somehow I switched plants at the nursery and got two different varieties of medium sized 'maters. Ah well, they’ll still be good eats. I moved some baby basils and oreganoes over into their pots them to keep them company.

I made a new recipe tonight, an Egyptian Stewed Chicken, but it was disapointing and won’t be added to the recipe file. Now I’m rather unsatisfied and craving ice cream, which we have none of. Maybe I’ll start driving and hit Johnny L.A.'s in time for Shepherd’s Pie leftovers on Monday! :stuck_out_tongue: I think I’m going to log off soon and watch something with the husband and elder kid. I think we got Little Miss Sunshine from Netflix or BB online.

Ah - the excitement of being married with children!

It’s Sunday morning here, and I just put some towels out to dry on the line. I’ve also been playing with my cat (he headbutts for treats) and contemplating cleaning the apartment. I’ll probably just muck around on the net until my fiance and I can be bothered walking to the city to buy coffee pods and get a photo printed.

On Saturday night I was browsing etsy for nice art prints. I looked through almost 700 pages of items and found about 10 I might get.

I was finishing packing and cleaning the apartment. Now I’m starting to think about crawling into bed (ok, for tonight “bed” is a featherbed on the living room floor), so I can get up tomorrow morning, load the car, turn in my apartment keys and start the drive west. I am debating whether to shower tonight or in the morning. I’m leaning toward in the morning, just so I don’t have hella bed head for the first stage of the drive.
The movers were here this morning - by next Saturday I’m supposed to sign my lease in Tucson. I’m going to mosey that way - there are some things I think I’ll stop and see on my way west.

I have been cleaning the house and yard on and off all day in prep for the 3rd Jersey DopeFest. I also washed the dog and watch the Yankees win another game with the ‘Relaunch of the Rocket’. We watched “Bed knobs and Broomsticks” earlier tonight.

I surfed the dope and the web a little in between. Soon I will be crashing. Pretty boring huh?

Ahhhhhh, the joys of Saturday Night…

I worked in the yard all day, swam for a little while, lounged in the hot tub, had dinner at Fazoli’s and topped it all off with a hot fudge sundae from Dairy Queen.

All in all, a grand day~

It’s Sunday morning here, just after 10am. But we did go out last night. I opened my liter of 18-year-old Talisker single malt with my buddy who was down from upcountry and some old friends who were in town from Colorado. The friends had their children with them and so went back to their hotel at the end of dinner, but my buddy and I hit the Nana Plaza bar area, followed by some late-night Mexican food and margaritas.

I was trying to go out. I could not find parking to save my life. Since my partner had already met up with his friends, I decided to go home and listen to Broadway showtunes…loud!

I was out drinking Weds and Thurs a bit, went to dinner with the GF Friday and spent the day with my dad at the Yankees game so I didn’t feel compelled to go out tonight. Plus GF is sick.

So basically my evening consisted some shrimp and pasta we whipped up, IMing a buddy of mine who’s stuck at work and watching a couple of movies on cable.

Since everyone is married or has live-in GFs now, there’s a lot less incentive to spend Sat night going to a bar or club in the city until 5 am.

I was working until 11PM. Came home and split time between the Dope, e-mail, and the ongoing Pirates game. Had a beer and a cigarette and then went to bed. Ho-hum.

I was acting as chauffeur to son and daughter for various social activities, then I was out drinking wine and nibbling grapes and talkin’ about life.

Go to hell, Clemens!
