Advice, please:
So, I was at this party at a friends flat saturday night, right?
At this party I met a girl, who was very nice to talk to, shared some of my tastes in music and stuff, and was very pretty as well.
We talked for quite a while (couple of hours, probably), before she had to leave kind of early, as she had some appointment in the morning, apparently. Before she left however, she asked me if I wanted her phone number. -HELL YEAH! (I played it a bit cooler than that, though. :))
So I wrote it down, and shortly after that she leaves, after giving me a hug. You know, a friendly hug, not a I-want-you-now-hug, but still.
So, I am not very used to dating, but surely this can’t be interpreted in any other way than that’s what she had in mind, right?
So… when do I call her?
Any ideas on what to do for a first date?
Any tips?
And yes, it’s probably very silly for me to have to ask these questions when I’m close to 30, but whatever.
I don’t really care about societal rules, and I have no idea what’s the norm in Sweden, so I’d call her at a reasonable hour (say, after a regular day of work) today.
And for an activity? If the weather’s nice, take advantage of that. Otherwise, come up with a few plans for something low-key, and ask her if she’d like to go anywhere you didn’t mention.
Wow…I misread the title as ’WHAT’ do I call her?’ and I thought you might be rushing the gun a wee bit dude. Like, she’s not your girlfriend/partner/fuckbuddy just yet etc.
Anyway, call her today, and once you’ve got that first date outta the way, we’ll help you with the naming process!
You call her when you’ve found something that you would both like to do or see - and that you can fund yourself. So during your lunch hour, find something, then give her a call this evening.
I second this advice. Don’t call until you know what it is you want to ask her to. It should be casual - just a coffee and dessert in an interesting place is a good start - but know what you want to ask her to.
