It could be worse, you could be convicted of 34 felonies.
Had just fixed dinner, sat down at my computer and opened up the SDMB and saw there had been over 300 posts in the trial thread so I guessed a verdict was in. Scrolled down the messages just to heighten the suspense and there it was.
At work. My co-worker came, back from the breakroom, which has a TV and was grinning from ear to ear and told me.
I really don’t care. I read the headline on my couch and continued doing my thing. I’m not sure what this is suppose to do. Historic, of course. I just don’t see it moving many people, and I doubt any real consequences will come.
At home watching Beetlejuice, hoping to counteract a bad association I had with that movie. I stupidly decided to watch it on Election Night in ‘16 thinking that things would go from iffy to better by the time it was over. They obviously didn’t. But this seems to have worked
.
Sitting on my back porch after dinner. My husband was taking the dishes into the house when I decided to check email. NYT news alert in my inbox. Sentencing July 11th. Good. He can sit and stew about that for a while.
X, which is frothing right now, said oh its 4 days before the convention. Lots of people saying they’re donating.
I’m on day 4 of this shit. I think the felonies might be better.
Seriously- you should see the epic meltdowns in the Breitbart comments section. It’s worth a look
Ugh, my sympathies then.
Here on the Dope, between work reports.
Changing clothes after work. Husband mentioned it like he thought I already knew.
Sitting at my desk at home where I saw a thread on SDMB called “So, where were you when you got The News?”…
Good cap to the day.
In a Zoom meeting with a bunch of Texans and “fellow” Albertans. I thought I wouldn’t be doing myself any favours bringing the matter up.
A friend texted “we have a verdict” while I was on the phone with a potential client.
“Uh huh, your daughter got taken away, uh huh, ok, I’ll email you a contract, gotta go, bye!”
My heart was pounding. I went out and told a legal assistant that we had a verdict.
“What is it?”
“I don’t know.”
Then furious updating of the Dope, and CNN’s website.
The first guilty came here. The Dope wins again.
And then I high fived the assistant.
Just as I was being dropped off at work I read it on The Dope.
Meh. I’m in Alberta, and I’m happy.
Right here in this very chair, refreshing the feed over at Taegan Goddard’s Political Wire page.
Must See TV! (ok, Must See Internet Reading).
I am a little surprised how many comments are from Trump non-supporters, and how sharp they are. You go, team!
You work in law. I work in the oil industry with people with Fuck Trudeau signs on their desks and Fox News on their internet radio feeds.
