Here is a link from CNN’s website. PA 04, 06, 07, 08, and 10 are the five seats I’m referring to.
Ties and sweaters - never a good mix.
They’re showing Lamont’s concession now. I love concession speeches - people trying desperately to say “We should have won” without saying “The public are idiots”. Fun verbal gymnastics.
I don’t think so. The Dems will need Missouri, too. I bet we don’t hear about that one 'til midnight.
It is Wednesday morning here, so I am just seeing this stuff for the first time. Remarkable how close (like Virginia) are. Does not look like a Democratic sweep, but perhaps they will get the House (a gimme really), and maybe the Senate.
As hard as it is to believe, the country is still very close to being tied on the Great Issues.
Isn’t it rather late over there? Is this election that interesting for you??? Hope you’ve got some good booze to keep things lively!!
Apparently. CNN has called MN-05 for Keith Ellison.
It is late, but I don’t need to be up until pretty late tomorrow. And I just enjoy elections in general, really.
The vodka isn’t hurting, either. I’m taking that I could spell Schwarzenegger correctly to mean that i’m not drinking enough yet though.
Yeah, but we don’t call the governorship a “seat”, so I’m deducting one point for that error. No one expected Arnold to lose. (You don’t need to spell his last name-- he’s just Arnold.)
Yes, that’s the guy. I assume he’s a “real” Muslim, and not a Black Muslim.
I actually feel a little bad for Lincoln Chafee. If there’s a Republican who didn’t deserve to be punished for Bush’s misdeeds, it’s probably him.
Alas, no, he is a black muslim. Raised Roman Catholic, too.
It’s looking fairly grim for Webb in Virginia. According to CNN, there’s 93% in, and Webb’s down by 32,000 votes.
True, Richmond City and 1-2 other big Webb counties have a disproportionate amount of their votes out, but it doesn’t seem that enough Webb votes are outstanding to make up the deficit. Prediction: It’ll narrow, but Allen will win. Maybe 15-18K vote margin.
(and I’m betting that absentees are likely to favor Allen. If I’m wrong about that, this one could be very interesting.)
Kerry’s not running. Kennedy was, and he’s a lock.
Is it bad of me that if came to Democrat control of the Senate and kicking Kennedy out, I’d take kicking out Kennedy?
Chafee should have switched parties. He’s closer to the Dems anyway.
He seems to have had some association with the NoI ~1990, but has since become more traditional.
Boy, wouldn’t that have been something!
This is wrong. Ellison is black but he’s not a “Black Muslim.” He’s a Sunni. He’s never been a member of the Nation of Islam and actually denounces both the NOI and Louis Farrakhan.
Not that the NOI has anything to do with Islam.
Reid says VA Senate race is so close it will trigger an automatic recount. That makes sense. Bring on the lawyers!!
The Pubbies might pick up the two House seats here in Georgia that are held by Dem incumbents. Or they might not. Both races are very tight with 85% of precincts in. That could affect Dem prospects for holding the House. In one, the Dem candidate holds a razor-thin lead, in the other, the Pubbie candidate holds a razor-thing lead.
What’s the situation there with voting machines? I thought recounts weren’t possible on many electronic voting systems.
