Federal employee here, at work along with about a dozen other people.
I get to work tonight because I always work Fridays… and, well, even though there really isn’t anyone left on campus except for the RAs, two of which are night owls who keep me entertained some nights. But, damn, it’s gonna be dead working night staff (read: night time dorm security) tonight… just like it was dead on Wednesday, and will be tomorrow. At least working these extra nights gives me a bit more money in my pocket.
I hear you, although my boss stopped by-astonished that I was here.
I told him this was the result of having no vacation days left due to a lengthy wedding… 
I’m at work because a nursing home never closes. That’s one of the bad things about working in the health care field. Most of the upper management is here today as well, kind of strange for the day after a holiday.
