So, you don't like Trump. Do you REALLY thing that Hillary is a good person?

Hillary was not my first choice but I have no regrets picking her over Donald Trump.

And her femaleness. That seems to particularly rankle a certain segment of the population.

Laura? For all his faults I don’t recall GWB having an affair. And God only know what the Roosevelts’ “arrangements” were.

Back to Hillary: I don’t think it’s fair to characterize her as having no principles; she clearly has principles and they manifested whenever it was politically expedient (or at least posed no risk) to do so. The rest of the time she went with whatever she thought would work best politically in the longer term. Determining whether having principles you don’t use is better or worse than not having any at all is left as an exercise for the reader.

George W. Bush.
As BuzzFeed wrote, Bush was alleged of sexually assaulting a Texas woman who later committed suicide. He was also alleged to have engaged in an 18-month affair with a former stripper, with the affair concluding in 1999.

Hell no. Cant stand her. She is such a fake. Why the hell did the democrats pick her and shove her down everyones throat and ensure their would be no other candidates? Oh yeah, it was her turn!

She got the most votes in 2016. She didn’t in 2008. The Democrats picked her because a majority of primary voters thought she was the most qualified and had the best chances of success.

“Good person” doesn’t apply in politics. “Good” people are seen as weak, and unable to stand against foreign enemies. Carter was ostensibly a good person, but he didn’t scare Iran like Reagan did, so being “good” didn’t matter. Winning a Nobel for getting Egypt and Jerusalem to stop fighting may have made some nice headlines, but Carter got defeated in a landslide. Good didn’t amount to jack shit.

Voters may make their decisions based on whether a candidate is publicly seen going to church, so they can have some sort of moral justification, but they will ultimately support a candidate who seems aggressive, strong, and on their side, even if they are visibly flawed. Trump’s message was simple. Voters like simple. Hillary had too much of an evasive legacy from Bill, used too much qualifying talk, and seemed like she had something to hide. Hillary’s biggest asset was that she wasn’t Trump, and her being “good” wasn’t an issue.

Rex O’Herlihan:You’re not a good guy at all!

Bob Barber: I’m a lawyer, you idiot!

So much wisdom is Rustler’s Rhapsody.

No I don’t think she is a good person as I define it. Elections tend to be between people I don’t like. So what?

Huh. I had not heard (or don’t remember hearing) about either of those.

I have not read this whole thread, so I may be repeating what someone else has posted. I believe the 2016 POTUS election had the two worst candidates the repugs and democraps have ever run. If there ever was a time for a third party or independent candidate to be elected, 2016 was it!

To be fair Kerry/Edwards was pretty piss poor, I thought it was actually worse than HRC/Mr forgetable and I still think Cheney is more evil then Trump. Problem is Trump appears to be more dangerous to the US.

It makes you wonder what would have been the result if Sanders had run as an independent.

I don’t know if she’s a “good person” but to me she comes off as elitist and condescending.

No, I don’t think she is a good person. I just think she would have been a superior president to Trump, though granted the bar is VERY low on that as I can’t imagine a worst president than the one we have. A president doesn’t necessarily have to be a good person to be a good and effective president. Of course, a person obviously CAN be both a bad person, a really horrible human being AND a bad president…as we can see demonstrated nearly every day since Trump was elected.

Try to imagine how different the results of this poll would be if Trump hadn’t been brought up to remind people who they were supposed to compare her to.
Brilliant move.

He’d have been destroyed worse than Kerry. It would have been horrible.

The Dems didn’t run a lot of good candidates in 2016, with much of the party backing Hillary as it was “her time”.

He’d have taken some of Hillary’s votes, maybe a few of Donald’s, but the vote would have been more in Trump’s favor. Just like with Perot and Nader.

How exactly will the poll results show this?
