December 13? Ooof. I’ll be 8 days away from my C-section, if not already naturally going into labor. If it were closer, I might still be game–but looks like I’m out on this one. Have fun!
I have to go to LA in the evening for another appointment, and I don’t see myself driving there once in the morning and once in the evening. I can’t stay there all day because I want to spend time with the kids on the week-end.

While conversing with a fellow Doper, I got a scare because it was thought the 'fest was this Sunday rather than next.
This is a bump to verify that we’re all showing up on Sunday the 13th at 11am.
Yes, still planning on it. Who’s coordinating? We don’t need reservations or anything, but shouldn’t someone volunteer to wear a trenchcoat and fedora and carry a copy of The Straight Dope?
As I am the Official Black Doper of Southern California™ as well as being a notorious early bird, AND I now live within walking distance of Empress, I should be fairly easy to spot.
We should, however, try to get a headcount so we know how big a table to request. At 11am, it may take a while if there are more than eight of us.
I’ll do my best to be there, but be advised, I am not going to eat anything. I don’t like Chinese food; I’m just going for the company.
