Rick was kind enough to point to this thread ~ I am totally a last-minute girl who is also in the throws of interviewing for a few different kind of jobs, so it is anyone’s best guess what I will be up to thirty days from now.
But if serendipity plays any hand, I might just drive down from San Francisco (or Napa if I get THAT job!) for the shin-dig (and Randy’s apple fritters, Nickel Diner’s Irish Car Bomb doughnut, and the Donut Man’s fresh strawberry…)

Found this thread just 5 minutes ago…filled out the calendar thingy…realized that I forgot that my wife is going to school all day on Saturdays, which basically leaves me the two Sundays…the 10th and 24th.
Youngest son’s birthday on the weekend of 16th/17th…Will be going to Rancho Mirage (Agua Caliente Casino) on Oct. 30th (her off Saturday) to see these guys.
Could have it there if you want to…it would be a blast.

Fried Dough Ho - Donut Man’s fresh strawberry donuts are scrumptious, but they’re also seasonal. If you’re set on having them when you’re down here, make sure to give them a call before hand. They usually only have them during the summer months. It’s a little late in the season, but they usually have fresh peach donuts too around July and August. It’ll be tragic to drive all the way to Glendale and return empty handed.
I know - I was down there about six weeks ago and the fresh fruit doughnuts were Peach. Thanks for the nudge; I really need to write-up that report for the blog!

Anywhere in Pasadena on the 23rd works for me. For the sake of information, I called the Pasadena Yard House and asked about reservations. They said they only take a limited number of reservations but that a group of 15-20 people on Oct 23 should be no problem if we tell them far enough in advance.
Cool. It looks like the only thing left is to recruit people who haven’t seen the thread and discuss carpooling.
I just woke up out of my fog. I will be on call that weekend, I might have to depart the festivities at any time.
Volvo is doing a track ride and drive at Santa Anita that weekend, and if anything breaks, I get a call.
If anyone want to hot lap a 300 HP Volvo before the dopefest it might be arranged.
