Sometimes, the silliest things can make your day

I was driving home after work today. I was already feeling good - it was my last day of work, I’m moving in a little over a week, and the weather was perfect. I turned on some “light contemporary” station, because I was just in that kind of mood. The (Faith Hill?) song “This Kiss” came on the radio, and I started to sing along.

I pulled up to a traffic light, behind another car. Two girls - I’d guess about 8 or 9 - were sitting in the back seat, facing out the back window (a serious pet peeve of mine, but that’s another post). One noticed me singing, and nudged the other to look and said something. I thought I was going to be mocked mercilessly by a coupla 8 year old girls. Instead, they started singing along. Apparently they had the same station playing in their car. So they bobbed and swayed, singing in the way that only 8 year old girls and 29 year old fools can, and we sang to each other through the light, and down the road.

By the time they turned off onto another road, they were grinning from ear to ear, and so was I.

And so am I, now. That was a great story. I love when the magic happens.

It’s been a long day, but your story just made it better. Thanks.

I can only imagine how much stronger the effect might have been had I been in a crappy mood  Glad to have shared the smile.
