Songs that go - "Woo Hoo!"

Ive written some songs that use different songwriting ‘ticks’ - a spelling song, a chorus free song, a key change down, etc and now I’m writing a song that goes ‘Woo Hoo!’.
So I’d like to listen to as many as I can to be sure not to pinch one and in order to honour the form.

Can you point any out to me? Obvious ones are Song 2 by Blur and Statue of Liberty by XTC. I won’t count Bohemian Like Me by The Dandy Warhols as that goes ‘Woo Hoo Hoo!’ but any others you could let me know would be sought out for my autistic-like research.
Cheers.

Song 2 by Blur has several:

  • I got my head checked
    By a jumbo jet
    It wasn’t easy
    But nothing is, no
    Whoo hoo!
    Well I feel heavy metal
    Whoo hoo!
And I’m pins and I’m needles
    Whoo hoo!
Well I lie and I’m easy*

Picky, picky! :stuck_out_tongue:

“Woo Hoo” by the 5.6.7.8s (as heard in Kill Bill Volume 1, and at least two commercials currently on TV)

“One-Two Step” by Ciara, featuring Missy Elliot (inane little dance song that is constantly being played on the radio)

The most obvious I can think of is U2’s latest. The one with horrible Spanish.

Already Gone by the Eagles:

“I will sing this victory song:
Woo hoo hoo woo hoo hoo.”

How about *Buddy Holly * by Weezer?

Imperial Drag has a song called “Yoo Hoo.” Not quite the same, but close.

As well as That’ll be the day by Buddy Holly.

Waterboys. Fisherman’s Blues:

Counting the towns flashing by
In a night thats full of soul
With light in my head
You in my arms
Woohoo!

“All of the Angels”, a b-side by Tears For Fears. So much so that I have appended the song an unofficial alternate title: “All of the Angels (woo hoo hoo)”.

All of the angels
Woo hoo HOO!
Callin’ us home
Woo hoo HOO HOO!
We leave tomorrow
We leave everything we own!
Yeah yeah yeah!

Buch Dich by Rammstein has a woohoo in roughly the first line, cant remember offhand if it is repeated much later=)

It’s All Been Done by Barenaked Ladies, rumoured to have been written because they didn’t want to be the only band without a song with “Woo hoo” in it…

Sympathy for the Devil by the Rolling Stones has quite a few Whoo! Whoo! s in it, but those might not count in the OPs eyes, either.

“Firehouse” By KISS

woohoo- Newsboys

Bowling for Soup- 1985
Gerald Levert - Baby You Are
Keith Urban - Days Go By Song Lyrics
Eagles -Witchy Woman
Madness - All I knew

Should do for now.

Thanks for the suggestions. Those that I’ve never heard (Rammstein for instance) will require investigation.

I mentioned Song 2 in the OP as I knew that it does indeed go ‘Woo Hoo!’

I hoped I had pointed out how fussy I was by outlawing a ‘woo hoo hoo’ as not being a ‘woo hoo’. Think Homer Simpson. He doesn’t say, ‘Woo Hoo Hoo!’ when delighted!

I’d love to include your entry Roland, but it does not meet the criteria.

I don’t need 'yoo hoo’s or 'whoo whoo’s (I’d considered Sympathy For The Devil but discounted it), I’ll look out all the songs above in the hope that they don’t in fact say, ‘Woo Woo!’

'Woo Hoo! by the 5,6,7,8’s does look promising tho…

Thanks

“Friends of P” by The Rentals might work. I think it has some woo hoo’s in addition to some woo hoo hoo’s.

I love these songs. Most of my favorites have already been mentioned. But don’t forget:

“Walk of Life” by Dire Straits
“Runnin’ Down a Dream” by Tom Petty
