– Has anybody kept a body count for the town of Charming? Good grief, the mortician has got to be the busiest guy in town.
Who gets the kids now? Legally, it may be the readhead at the hosital. Or does Sutter just pull out another GET OUTTA JAIL FREE card for Gemma? How many people has she killed or helped kill without any consequences - John Teller, the busty blonde, now Tara.
The way Patterson was looking at the gun on the floor makes me wonder if they’ll have her pin Roosevelt’s murder on Jax.
Nero and the Mayans linking up with Lin will make a formidable opponent for the Niners and the Marks empire.
I agree, it was horribly sloppy on Roosevelt’s part to ignore the fact that someone was in the house with the pickup parked in the driveway.

The DA did make it a point to say that protective custody was off the table with the deal worked out with Jax. At that point, the sheriff was just a glorified taxi.
Patterson will not be able the sheriff’s murder on Jax (I don’t think, at least). Not using that gun. But it is suspicious circumstances, though even the time of death should absolve him. Jemma is on next season’s body count, for sure. Unser should be just for being so damn stupid - he’s had that same trick pulled on him at least a dozen times!

Both Jax and Tara did both make a point that she didn’t need protection, so that could explain Roosevelt letting his guard down.
Unser finally has exactly what he’s wanted all along. Nero has dumped Gemma and she’s reached rock bottom. She has no one else and she needs him. I guess it’s time for him to die of cancer now.
I didnt buy the whole part about Jax going to jail. Why would Jax turn himself in now? Maybe Juice did what he did cause he wants to get back on Jax & clubs good side again. He figures Tara’s dead, then Jax wouldnt have to turn himself in. Patterson doesnt have shit. Sure she walks in & sees a gun on the floor & 2 dead bodies, but pinning the death of Roosevelt & Tara on Jax? I dont see her winning her case on those murders.
The way I see it, Juice knows he’s on Jax’s shit list now - the whole hugging/Godfather-reminiscent/“you betrayed me” scene - that he saw an opportunity to stay in Gemma’s good graces by shooting Roosevelt and thereby protecting her.
Gemma, shocked at what she’d done and still swirling from Nero’s dumping, accepted that help. She had time enough to change and sob on Wayne’s lap - which means she had time to warn Jax what was waiting for him at home…but she didn’t.
She found out Jax’s plan after the fact, but made no move to save him from seeing someone he loved so deeply he’d give up his boys for lying in a pool of blood. Plus whatever fallout came from that, knowing that the police were all over Jax up til that point and that he’d be THE most likely suspect in Tara’s murder.
I think they all go next season, in the sense that next season is the last season, wot?
I was half-expecting Juice to shoo Gemma out of the house, then wipe the fork clean, put his own prints on it, make the scene look like he killed Tara and Roosevelt, then shoot himself in the head.
Anyway, Tara’s plotline is (finally, thank God) over.
I have to say, that was one of the most brutal deaths I’ve seen on TV in a while. I’ve been kind of wishy-washy about this season, especially the Tara plot line, but at least they ended it in keeping with the tone of the show. Now I’m kind of excited for the next season to see how they resolve things. Son of Anarchy is a lot of things, but predictable isn’t one of them.
If I remember, I’ll start a poll next year before each week’s episode on which (if any) characters get killed that week. My best guess is we’re going to have a blood bath in the final season, even by SOA standards.
Great idea for the polls. Ought to be fun. Makes you wonder if Sutter will introduce some new characters just to have some to kill off!
It’s interesting to me how often we come right up to the line of having one of the main cast get offed, only to have him (or her) saved by the bell. And count how many didn’t get that saving bell.
Other than those kids (one might hope) is anybody safe from the fireworks next season?
If so, my early prediction is the series finale will end with Jax killing Gemma, after finding out that she gave the order to have John Teller killed, and that she killed Tara as well.
I want Gemma to kill Jax (& maybe all the club) and then realise that she is the cause of all her men dying. Yeah that would leave me fulfilled as a last episode.
I think that everything that Jax has wanted to achieve is going to go down into the shitter next season. The club will get arrested, or torn to pieces, and ultimately disbanded, his kids will either be taken away from him or killed, Gemma will be killed, and Jax will be left with his life in ruins.
I’m surprised no one’s mentioned the stupid bird symbolism in the last episode - I meant to post this a couple of days ago and figured I’d be slow-ninja’ed by now.
In the beginning, Jax splattering the dove.
Near the beginning, Gemma with a crow in the birdcage.
Couldn’t get too much more heavy-handed in a non-symboling show. (What happened to the lovebirds or white macaw that Gemma has had all along?)
Maybe not in the details, but in general… yeah. The second-to-last event is Jax killing Gemma (probably for killing Tara), the last will be Jax riding off nomad.
This was the first episode I’d seen, apart from maybe a shocking minute or two of one other. Damn, that was a brutal death and boom, another. Okay, I think I could get hooked and I usually don’t do TV dramas. I checked and the seasons are available on Netflix so I goess I’ll try to get caught up over the holidays and then start watching regular.
