Well, I got in trouble for messing up FCD’s laptop. I’ve decided I really hate Windows 10. I managed to fix most of what I screwed up, but I lost all of his browser bookmarks. Dammit.
He’s taking a nap now - we’re meeting our daughter for supper tonight and giving her her present to avoid bad feelings at the family gathering, since we didn’t bring gifts for anyone else. They’re all adults, they can deal!
It’s way too warm and muggy and overcast and ick here. Have I mentioned that I hate Florida? Because I do. Two more days, then we can go home… bah, humbug!
Oh yeah, and in addition to the 13# turkey and the 3 racks of ribs I brought, MIL baked an 8# ham - and she’s worried about having enough food for 13 people. Did I mention the 3 gigantic veggie casseroles and the jello salad and the deviled eggs and the mashed potatoes and gravy…
My hubby is a workaholic. Seven days a week, 12-15 hours per day. Always has been. Since he is not getting any younger he gets extremely tired and takes it out on me. Just being snappy. He snapped one too many times in as many days and I gave him a piece of my mind. I am pissed. Just leave me alone.
In his defense at least he is not a slacker but it can be too much overachieving too. He is self employed in the A/C business. He always has way more than he can do but cannot say no.
‘Tis still rainin’ heavily. Looks like all night and into tomorrow as well. Christmas Day in Ye Olde Hometowne will be sunny and 80 Amurrkin. Do not despair, however. Looks like next week we’re in for a chill down. I talked to OYKW a little while ago. Most of the rain and ick are clearin’ out there but he said the tstorms earlier today were hell. Thus he has stayed in all day with his mom. I got out for a bit to go pick up my meds at the pharmacy but that’s been it for da bear and outside.
MOOOOOOM it’s a generational thing. No matter how much food there is, my own dear mother will always worry there’s not enough. I’m talkin’ food all over the kitchen counters, bar between the kitchen and dinin’ room and all over her hyuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuge dinin’ room table and sideboard and she worries it’s not enough. Gotta love 'em!
Butters maybe one day hubby will learn to slow down a bit. Good for you for not lettin’ him take it out on you, however.
Would posters in the eastern US, such as Swampy, PLEASE stay checked in? Some of us are seeing some alarming weather reports for that part of the country, including VERY high chances of tornadoes.
Interesting that most of it is East of the Mississippi. There is projected activity in Eastern Arkansas, on the Western side. I was out and about trying to save my car, home and stepdaughter from the IRS this morning during very heavy rain.
I’m fine Nettie. So is OYKW There was some nasty in Mississippi. Tornadoes lurve Mississippi. Right now we have no rain and I even saw the moon a little bit ago!
I believe I have mentioned that Mrs. Plant’s (v.2.0) Aunt called us from Rhode Island to see if we were safe in Little Rock, Arkansas, because she heard that there was a tornado in Dallas, Texas. States are larger in the South than New England. (And New York, Rosie.)
We’re just getting a steady rain here. Nothing scary. It looks like the scary stuff is mostly west of the Appalachians. And as it travels over the mountains, it may weaken.
Sadly, we’re in Oz & stuck here as the rain & wind are conspiring to keep the dozen plus pilots & crews snuggled warm in their beds in the morning, cxling our traditional Xmas Eve morning flight.
Turned out that way. Both shifts flexed up so I worked 12 hours out of 13 in the building. But the good news is I don’t have to go in tomorrow. Tomorrow is just the two early shifts (of which I am not a member) and then Saturday is my shift and shipping (but that is my day off). So I have me a 4 day weekend, relatives to visit, and LOTS of powder. Spidey – keep your eyes peeled to the northwest for any large plumes of smoke.
