Has Trump explicitly disavowed Robinson? I mean, not appearing on stage with him is one thing, but saying, “I encourage North Carolinians not to vote for an actual literal Nazi” would be something real.
It’s probably more like he wont be saying nice things about him any more, or at all. Robinson will be discarded like any other of Trump’s used rags. “Mark Robinson? Never heard of him.”
Yes, Trump won’t disavow Robinson because that would come dangerously close to admitting he was wrong.
He’s not not disavowing him…
People are saying he’s a bad guy. I don’t know that’s just what people are saying.
so he’s not avowing him …

As if Trump would tell people not to vote for himself.
Emulating the actions of the campaign staffers, Robinson’s staffers in the Lt. Governor’s office are lacing up their track shoes:
Representatives of the crowd embarking on an exodus – in an homage to Donald Trump comparing Robinson to MLK, Jr. – were quoted as having said, “Free at last. Free at last.”
Or … y’know … not.
Despite having yesterday’s date on that article, that’s old news and was already mentioned days ago earlier in this thread:
I don’t think any more people can resign, he pretty much doesn’t have any staff left. I think it’s like 3 people, one of whom is a bodyguard.
Not the same stories, actually. First, high-level campaign staffers walked. More recently, office staff walked.
My bad, you’re right. Weird that in both cases it was “4 staffers”. They are superficially identical.
But yeah, if now people are quitting the LT Gov office over this, that’s different and very significant. Yow.
Agree. Presumably these people like him and his policies (his world view was hardly a secret) but recent developments were still too much to take.
Leaving was the biggest ‘decent thing’ these folks could do.
Slightly less impactful, they may very well also be carpooling
“This just in: Mark Robinson’s housecleaner, personal trainer, accountant and car detailing guy have all announced they will be terminating their contracts with Robinson…”
Is joke.
I would argue that the latter was proof positive of the former
I dunno - Robinson seems like the type to have a personal trainer just to be able to say he has one, despite never actually training.
I’m really looking forward to laugh at whatever comes out of cheato’s lie-hole trying to distance himself from this steaming turd.
Cheeto has all but forgotten his little endorsement of Robinson, but JD may have slipped-up and acknowledged Robinson’s (“he-who-must-not-be-named”) problems…
The Republican Governors Association stopped running ads on his behalf this week, and Virginia Gov. Glenn Youngkin, who serves on the RGA’s executive committee, told the National Review on Wednesday that he would no longer be supporting Robinson.
Still, Trump has refused so far to rescind his endorsement. That’s even as Robinson, a regular presence during Trump’s recent North Carolina appearances, has become he-who-must-not-be-named at recent events.
Republican National Committee Chair Michael Whatley, a North Carolina native, skipped over Robinson as he ticked down a list of the state’s most important elected officials during a campaign stop in Charlotte earlier in the week.
…snip…
Both Trump and his running mate JD Vance ignored Robinson during their four combined North Carolina appearances since Saturday. Vance was forced to acknowledge his party’s candidate for governor only when he took questions from reporters.
“What he said or didn’t say is ultimately between him and the people of North Carolina,” Vance said of Robinson. “I’ve seen some of the statements, I haven’t seen them all. Some of them are pretty gross, to put it mildly.”
Has anyone seen the AI-generated version of Robinson yet? I had read about the development of this attack ad, but I wasn’t expecting them to go all-in with the AI visuals. O_o
Reporter: Are you going to drop your endorsement of Mark Robinson?
Trump: I don’t know the situation (runs away)
