Springing Forward in the MMP

She does…but it evaporated. :smack:
Went to my friend’s daughter’s Bat Mitzvah yesterday. She had her friend, a career Army officer, in Class A dress uniform, do one of the readings - a Prayer for our Country. You know the one where the next to last line is, “We pray for a time when nation shall not lift up sword against nation.” Oh the irony of that being read by the one person in attendance who would become unemployed if that were to happen. :o

All of the girls take off their shoes & put on socks to dance. This included my friend who was literally sliding across the dance floor during one of the games, until the feet slid futher than her body. I watched…& heard her go down! So you’re not the only one to wipe out this weekend, Mooommm
This morning’s run was…interesting. Met at a different location than normal & therefore, one that we don’t really know all that well. Because some @#$%&* in a truck can’t read & damaged the covered bridge it’s closed to all (including foot) traffic. The guy at the front didn’t know he should make a pre-official detour turn so we got to go up the twin peaks of Mt. Misery (it is! @ 360’ elevation over .7 miles) & Mt. Joy (it isn’t! @ 260’ over ⅓ mile).

The cool thing is there was evidence that a famous person was there. Tree lined road with about 1-2 acre open field on the left & probably 4-5 acre open field on the right. Right in the middle of the very first tree, 60-70’ up, was evidence that none other than that loveable bald blockhead with a yellow striped shirt had been there. :smack:

Then we tried a new place for post-run refreshments, a corner dive bar. They weren’t serving from a menu but had a deal of a breakfast sammich & a Bloody Mary bar for $20. Given I didn’t crawl into bed until 3am & I’m not a Bloody Mary fan anyway I asked if I could just get a sammich & a beer - but since that’s not the special I’ll have to pay extra for the beer. Really, unlimited well vodka but pay for one beer on tap? Then the barmaid (who I rate at about a 4½) sees that she’s given me a little something ‘extra’ in my birch beer as I’m pulling & pulling & pulling this long hair outta my mouth  (& guess who has long hair) finally decides that she can cut me a deal on just a sammich. Ummm, sorry, no; I’m just going to go home & eat there. Thanks anyway. Forget to write.

We et N.O.L. and then I had a little lie down. Both were goooooood. OYKW has some paperirk stuff to deal with so he’s at his place. He wants <snerk> Quickie! <snerk> for dindin which sounds good to me. Tomorrow night we shall dine on today’s leftovers.

{{{MOOOOOOM}}} OUCH! Hope the swellin’ and pain go away soonest.

I’ve been up and down the stairs a few times and the knee, while achy, works just fine. I just need to stop Taz from launching off my lap via the knee.

You could always launch her via the foot.

Oof about the knee, Mooom. I did a number on mine when I was in the Navy. I found out why those things are called “kneeknockers” and that steel decks and human knees were never meant to make contact.

I went to Weight Watchers this morning and lost almost 3 lbs. This seems to be the pattern: Small loss, small loss, small loss or small gain, big loss. Lather, rinse, repeat. Overall, I’ve lost almost 35 lbs. Go me!:smiley:

I’ve got a corned beef and cabbage in the oven right now. Wegmans had these ready-to-cook things for St. Patrick’s Day and put them on sale right after. It’s nice that I don’t have to work hard to make dinner.

Tomorrow is Monday. Blurf.

Sorry I have been scarce this week but there is a reason

Some new “third band” channel called “Decades” has been running them in order since early Saturday and starting now doing some “favorites” for the second time. It’s one of those shows I remember seeing as a kid but a kid young enough that the plots (even the existence of plots) totally escaped me. I never did catch any of the reruns so for me it was a real treat to get to see so many of them

It snowed here so I grilled outside; some used steaks we got at Sam’s Club. They have some of the best, and best priced, steaks in Da Burgh. And clearance prices aren’t bad either.

In things to do ---- my basement t-shirt rack kept bending hooks so I went overkill; half inch eye hooks I modified for the purpose. The old hooks were rated for 85 pounds each - the new ones 550 pounds each. Those suckers may bust out of the 2x12s but they ain’t bending even under the weight of our shirts!

Back from a <snerk> Quickie! <snerk> dindin. There are many wunnerful comestibles on the menu. However, I went with the patty melt and fries as usual. I see patty melt then I think maybe I’ll try sump’n else this time, but I keep thinkin’ how nummy the patty melt is and end up orderin’ one. Then again, OYKW is the same about their cheese burger so I am not alone in this. However, when we go there for Sunday N.O.L. I will choose from amongst their delectable specials. Anywho we’s back at da cave and in chill mode. Irk tomorrow alas and alack. At least it’s a four day week for me cause Firday is Good Firday and I always take that as one of my “floatin’ holidays.”

{{{Pearl}}} I already posted in the thread about your Mother but my heart goes out to your family and you.

Sorry about the knee and shoulder FCM

::sigh:: now the dog has decided he needs a treat every time he wakes up.

I’ve put ice on my knee and I’ve walked around a bit, plus I sat on the recliner with my legs up. It hurts like a really bad bruise, which is what it is. Medicinal ice cream has helped, even if it’s just vanilla.

I figure I need to leave here about 7:15 to get to the office in plenty of time for my 8:00 appointment. It’ll be nice to have a leisurely morning. I may even have time to check in here before I leave.

T.G.I.S.! It’s the first day of Spring, and it’s 42 and raining. I say next February 2nd, we drive up to Punxsutawney, and drop about 3 pounds of C4 in Phil’s burrow.

Ow, Moooommmm!. Hope the swelling goes down.

You go, Rockin’!

Spidey, it was a dive bar. What did you expect? You should come down to [url=http://luckybsbar.com/]Lucky B’s** instead.

Sari sounds to me like the dawg has the right idea.

Finished off that case did we drunken link poster? :stuck_out_tongue:

I’m not as think as you drunk I am!:p;)

Tearbinder – give that man another <hic> round of friends for all <hic> drinks!

Very sorry Pearl

Crap. Thought I was over this whatever. Just got up from a nap, temperature was back up to 100, after staying in the 98-something range all day.

I don’t think I can go to work tomorrow, so employer will ask for a medical note. Also going to have trouble making rent without asking church for help

Crap.

My poor Lucky Louie. On Firday he had an anal sacculectomy, the removal of his anal glands. He is doing fine but it has been a rough weekend. He is not to jump, use stairs, lick or scoot. He has been trying to do all. He is in pain but does have pain Meds. When he gets over this he will never have anal gland problems again. It had gotten to the point I was taking him to the Vet monthly and sometimes twice a month. Little dogs are predisposed to problems with this and with all the infections and impactions scar tissue had built up to the point his glands could not empty naturally.

It was not cheap but neither were the monthly vet visits. My poor baby.

He does not have a cone and maybe he should have. I will check with the Vet in the morning to see if I can get one.

I really want to stay home tomorrow but with it being Moanday I really need to go to irk so I will take him with me and maybe skedaddle early if I can. I figure it will only be a few more days of the rough stuff Lord willing.

Pearl condolences to you and your family. No one like Mama.

I’m not seeing todays grump page…but then I am old and blind

I found it!!!
