Springing Forward in the MMP

Mooommm we love. But we are having problems with pigs slipping in from Maryland. The rule right now is shoot on sight before they get too far past the border.

Dinner was corned beef and cabbage. Yeah – I know – a little late. But we needed to clear out some of the pork first.

Other than that I mostly puttered at some laundry and watched a marathon of the very first series about life in the New York City Police Department. This was far before Law & Order. The acting isn’t much but the theme music is just as memorable.

There’s a hold up in the Bronx, Brooklyn’s broken out in fights
There’s a traffic jam in Harlem that’s backed up to Jackson Heights
There’s a scout troop short a child, Khrushchev’s due at Idlewild!
And first!!!

I haven’t seen any snow here but my friend down in Balto is getting some. I know it’s cold out though, Sah-son let the dog and I could feel the cold coming in.

I had chicken with tomatoes and rice for dinner.

We’re finally getting around to watching the latest season of House of Cards. Funny - we were all over season 2 when in came out, but now it’s more meh. We’ll see if it grabs us.

Had a friend request from my BIL - FCD’s fundy, right-wing brother. I just deleted the request. No way I’m letting him have access to my page. I don’t need his politics or anything else for that matter…

**swampy **- our coasters are the moisture-absorbing stone type. But there’s no reason that cotton rounds or squares can’t serve… except if the glass happens to be really sweaty.

You are a wise, wise woman!

& her back door’s open, too. However, since I only have a vague idea of the town & not a 'zact address I didn’t come for dinner for fear of someone else in the neighborhood not being as friendly or having an extra plate at the ready. :frowning:

I believe they only traversing thru Merrylande & are actually originating in Arrrgh-Kansas. In fact it’s not really the pig’s fault, it the pig farmers fault, & since you can’t quite tell who’s a farmer down there, it’s best just to shoot any Arkansinian you come across.

Personally I don’t see any problems with the idea but I’ll run it past my WCO. Who knows? The way Harrisburg works, it may be adopted into the PGC rules and regulations. We’ll call it the “SpideyPlan For Invasive Species”!

Wild pigs and/or feral pigs are nasty. Please shoot them all.

Boy child did get to the video game store. He was very mature about it and took in a system he doesn’t use and a stack of games. He traded those in for the things he wanted. This is the first time I think he’s wrestled with a complex economic situation of this magnitude (trade things in? Mom’s wallet is not bottomless?!), so I was very proud of him.

I have also accomplished going to the bank, taking a nap, and feeding the family. Carnitas, refried beans, and a G&T for me.

Hubby got his fancy new telescope set up in the yard, so we’ve been looking at Jupiter and assorted other things. Jupiter’s moons really zip around.

I did not accomplish shopping, so tomorrow’s coffee shall either be black or with powdered creamer. Blech.

I fondly remember that theme! Watched the show in question on Nickelodeon ca. 1986-1987.

In other news, I’m really tired of this fever. Had to be brought home from irk early on Friday, called out Saturday. Haven’t seen a temperature below mid-99s all day, highest was 101.

Up, caffeinated, and sheveled. It’s my Firday.

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. YAWN 'Tis 57 Amurrkin out and cloudy with a predicted high of 64 and sunny for the day. The weather PTB said we’d have a cool down the early part of the week. They actually got this one right!

This mornin’ we shall deheatenate Luterun style. I am servin’ as Lector (the readin’ not the cannibal kind) this mornin’. ‘Tis also Palm Sunday for those who keep up with such things. This means we get to wander around wavin’ palms and sayin’ “Hosanna in the highest” as we process into the church house.

OK, that’s all I got for now. I need more caffeine and rumbly tummy wants to be fed. Then purtification for deheathenization must commence. Since it’s windy out I suppose that means I should also wear a jacket. Bother!

Happy Sunday Y’all!

I know it sounds bizarro, but I’m convinced something about the way I crochet is causing my shoulder pains. I’ve been feeling lots better, except when I have to stretch to reach with my right arm, but after making 8 coasters last night and unmaking a few more, my arm bothered me all night long, and it’s still achy this morning. I’ve got an appt with the orthopedist on Tues, so I’ll discuss it with her. Weird…

Happy First Day of Spring! It’s COLD here! All of 38° and overcast and icky. Today’s high is supposed to hit 42° - the ick shall continue. Stoopit weather.

We’re going to try out a breakfast buffet placeway down in the southern part of the county. Actually, it’s at a marina and we breakfasted there once eons ago when it wasn’t a buffet, plus we stayed at that marina during on of our boat escapades. I read about the buffet on a local forum and it sounded interesting enough that we’re making the trek this morning.

I’ll do a little laundry today, but that’s about the extent of my plans. Definitely an indoor day.

Happy Sunday!

Happy Sunday!

Happy Spring!

It’s cold outside, although I haven’t seen any snow. I need some breakfast, and then onto chipping at my list of things to do.

Good morning. At work since 5am since a coworker got fired Friday, they needed someone to cover.

At least I’ll be off at 1.

Nettie, quit overachieving!

Wasn’t the guy who drove under the bridge with the boom up, was it?
Off to run.

No, that fellow will likely just get a verbal warning. He has been a great guy otherwise and the safety systems designed to prevent that accident had failed, so he’s going to be okay.

This is another guy who was nice and very energetic but just didn’t get the core principles of the job right and wasn’t reliable at all. His failure rate was far too great.

Howdy Y’all! We have been deheathenated. YAY! I have a peach cobbler in the oven as I post. When that’s done I shall start the N.O.T. cookin’ and make and bake cornbread sticks. All I’ll need to do is smash the N.O.T. when they’re done and warm up the beast, veggies, and beans. N.O.L. shall be teh nummy!

{{{Nettie}}} feel better soonest.

Laterz!

I’m about to leave for deheathenization. I wish I could wear a new t-shirt I got in the mail, from a place called Hirsute History. It’s got a silhouette of a main in a beard, with slightly long hair and horn-rimmed glasses, and it’s labeled “Rowan”. I’ll wait until Pentecost, when we have our annual outdoor picnic.

sunny, you mean that you don’t keep a little can of evaporated milk for coffee emergencies?

Happy first day of spring! It’s downright chilly here in middle Tennessee. So much for our temps in the eighties last week.

Nothing much is planned for today except the usual fixing of the week’s breakfasts and lunches, folding the drawers that were washed yesterday, working on a studio project and going for a ride.

If you read my FB page, this will look familiar:

Well, that was a fun adventure. We got to the restaurant (it wasn’t the place I’d remembered) and we were told we could take any of the tables by the windows. What he forgot to say was “watch for the step up by the bar.” As a result, I went flying over the corner of this raised platform, landing hard on my left knee, then down on my right shoulder - you know - the one that I went to see the orthopedist about.

Everyone immediately freaked out, hovering over me. I was OK, really, but I needed to lie there a moment to make sure nothing was broken. I told **FCD **to grab my purse, which went flying, and after a little bit, I was ready to get up. There were hands reaching to help me, but I just wanted a chair that I could brace against as I stood.

When I went to the ladies’ room, I saw that my knee was skinned over a nickle-sized area and it was definitely swollen, but I could walk OK and move it just fine - no dislocation or major damage. I was able to walk to the buffet just fine, and it helped to flex my leg as I was eating. My shoulder aches, but it’s hard to tell how much is the impingement issue I was already dealing with.

I’ve got an ice pack on the knee right now - it feels pretty good. I expect it’ll really hurt tomorrow.

It’s all Mom’s fault for not letting me take ballet when I was a kid. I’d have easily transitioned into a grand jeté and landed on pointe.

Meanwhile, I think I need some medicinal chocolate ice cream…

Doesn’t surprise me that you might have a repetitive motion problem going on, and that kind of thing can be weird. On a slightly related note, I have neck problems (couple of cases of whiplash) and sometimes find that if my pillow’s due for replacement, my forearm muscles hurt.

Medicinal chocolate ice cream solves a lot, IMO.

Temperature was 98 when I got up.

off to plant maters…
