Star Wars: The Bad Batch on Disney + [Open Spoilers]

And I’m thinking, “Tech is the kind of guy who would have his goggles recording Space GPS locations of everywhere he went!”, so the goggles might just lead them straight to the hidden base.

So were Rebels and Clone Wars and they did not hesitate to wipe out loads of people, main characters included.

But didn’t they show us bodies or other proof, at least for main characters confirmed to be dead?

We never saw Kanan’s body, not that there would be much left given how they died, but.

BTW I am not saying he is for sure dead, only that this shows do not shy away from killing main characters. Specially in an ensemble cast.

I think he’s alive. It’s right up their alley. Traumatize the kid watchers, make the grown ups roll their eyes at the cliche.

I don’t like this show but I watch it in case there’s something I need to know for one of the other things. I did think Jimmi Simpson was the highlight of this season.

I’m not as disappointed in The Mandalorian as some, but do have to say the Bad Batch has been, in general, better

I’m loving both series, although I get some temporal whiplash watching them on the same day.

Yeah, I was feeling that the other day, trying to sort out all the SW related stuff we’ve had in the part year.

Bad Batch, just after the fall of the Republic
Obi-Wan, a few years into the Empire, when it’s at its height of power,
Andor, in the years leading up to the Rebellion and the fall of the Empire, with cracks starting to show in the Empire’s power,
and then Mando, in the first few years of the New Republic.

It can get a bit overwhelming.

They’re very different, oddly the cartoon seemingly more mature and serious than the live action.

Mando has its fun goofiness here and there. Sometimes intentionally funny, sometimes without meaning to be, along with some winks. BB is closer to Andor in its feel at this point.

I was a bit confused by some recent posts until I saw that TWO episodes were released.
In Comics (this is close enough) – no one, except possibly Uncle Ben, is ever permanently dead. Especially when you don’t actually see the body.

There have been plenty of deaths in all the Star Wars cartoons, permanent ones.

I just discovered that S3 is out!

Managed one ep so far. I’m hoping they allow some fun elements as the season goes on. Even serious dark shows need a smile here and there.

I agree. But boy, do people complain a lot about “filler” episodes, i.e. the ones that don’t appear to contribute to the main story arc. They don’t appreciate TV that just wants to entertain, they crave lore.

4 eps in now and I wouldn’t say any of these are filler. The closest might be Ep2, but even that established that Echo was still off with Rex and that Hunter & Wrecker are still diligently searching for Omega. And that are there are clone refugees scattered around. Think that’ll come up again?

Nice to see that Omega is still the moral compass for the Batch. It can be frustrating to this jaded adult when she makes the “morally right, situationally risky” decisions (I sympathized a lot with Crosshair in the last episode), but if she loses that, she loses what’s special about her.

I’m 50/50 on whether Tech makes a miraculous reappearance or not.

Edit: Tech died in S2, not Echo. It’s Echo that’s off with Rex.

I’ve finally caught up to date (seven episodes in the third season so far). They’re moving the plot along quickly, and leaving plenty of loose ends for later, this season or next.

I’m not sure it’s correct to call this a kids series. Kids can certainly watch it, but it’ll be entertaining for many adults as well.

Yep. She is the “glue” character that holds everything together.

I’m suspecting he’s the apparently indestructible secret operative.

I was under the impression there is no next season and this is the last one.

Also, assuming she survives this show, I think it’s almost inevitable a live action, adult Omega appears in one of the live action shows.

Oh! That’s just evil.

Star Wars is very good at making villains likeable.
