And I never said that I couldn’t remember what side of an issue I’m on. I always know exactly which side I’m on. In this thread, I am most definitively not on a side at all, which makes it slightly more difficult for me to recall which side I am attempting to explain at any given time, as evinced by the post to which I was referring. In the post you quoted I proceeded to attempt to categorise the sides as I saw them, thus avoiding the potential of repeating my earlier mistake.
As a side note, I believe the phrase you were looking for is “there should be no doubt of it.”

eleanor, if you can’t see the hypocrisy of believing START with only his words as proof, yet doubting E. Smart despite her having the corroboration of accredited adults, I’m not going to bother explaining further. There should be no need to explain further.
I posted a link to this thread in the one that inspired it. Granted, that thread was locked, but that was standard procedure and I followed it. Why isn’t START here? I don’t know.
But I hope everyone realizes that the same thing is happening that always happens when START posts one of his threads: We’re arguing amongst ourselves while he is nowhere to be seen. I and others have pointed that out several times already, but we’re still doing it. Good for us. And that includes Futile, eleanor and brickbacon.

Are you merely disagreeing with my charges against him? Or are you saying that I should not be Pitting him at all? If the former, well, you’re entitled to your opinion. If the latter, sorry, everyone’s fair game.
Generally, people do show up at Pittings in their honor, either to defend their position or to post a token, “Eh, who cares?”. They don’t have to show up, but in this case, START’s absence is consistent with his established pattern of getting people riled up and then walking away.
I don’t know about the others, but my point in mentioning START’s absence was to note the irony in the fact that one of the biggest accusations against START is that he starts threads just to get people to fight amongst themselves (and FWIW, I agree that it does seem that way), while the biggest START fight has started in a thread not even started by START.

Incorrect. I was not holding a position, I was attempting to explain what logic I saw in one despite my lack of actual agreement with said logic. Sadly I misinterpreted the post I was quoting. While a stupid error, it is not the same stupid error of which you are accusing me, and has nothing to do with “could not be bothered to find out” - in point of fact I didn’t know I had made an error until I re-read the post and realised how foolish it looked.
Also, I’m not sure what you mean by “the point obtains” - obtains what? Unless there’s another meaning to the word “obtain” of which I’m unaware. Until this moment I had thought it meant “acquire”.
The first meaning of “obtain” is get, receive, acquire. It also has the secondary meaning of to be established, accepted, or customary, and a third meaning of to be valid, applicable, or true.
