(Old) Stone Cold Vacation A 4/20 MMP

Good morning.

It’s 50F and cloudy outside. We’ll have morning clouds, with showers developing by afternoon, and a daytime high of 57F.

Flyboy, I’m glad Goo is doing fine today.

I’ve never gone to a single high school reunion. I’m not friends with anyone from high school anymore, and I really have no desire to see the people I knew there.

Hippie and Boo, I’m so glad you two got to meet up again.

Nellie, I’m sorry about your sister’s collision, and I’m glad she’s okay.

Mollie, hope all goes well with the cataract surgery. I’m having both of mine done at the same time.

My poor Maisie wasn’t feeling well yesterday and threw up. I should have grokked that something was wrong because she kept herself glued to me and was trying to crawl up between me and the arm of the loveseat (which I was propped on). She seems better today, but it is concerning that she’s had tummy issues a couple of times in the past couple of weeks. I don’t feed her a bunch of junk, and don’t use any kind of weedkiller in the backyard. I think I’ll discuss with the vet at the next visit if this keeps up.

Doggio, I’m glad the Roomie seems to be recovering so well.

Lily, I hope the surgery and recovery go well. I do not like Jello AT ALL, so I don’t know what I would do if I had to do something like that. I like lemon, but not artificial-tasting lemon.

I got the lawn mowed, weedwhacked, and edged yesterday, gave the bird baths a really good scrub and filled them with water, and yanked a couple of weeds here and there. I then walked around with my hands on my hips, thinking about plant placement and trying to remember what I had planted last year. I think I’ll be taking a nursery trip either Friday or Saturday morning. I am behind, but I need to get crack-a-lackin’.

Once my son is moved into his new house, I’ll probably buy him a planter and some pots, along with dirt, plants, and flowers. I need to actually be at his house to figure out where and how the sun hits, so I can purchase the plants/flowers appropriate for the conditions. We discussed it when he was up here over the weekend, so I’m not just taking over his landscaping; I’m just trying to make things a little pleasant for him. He’ll be busy trying to make the inside of his house a home, and it’s not like I’m going to go crazy. Just a few spots of color.

I have no plans for today; just the normal tidying. I will need to wash the guest bedding, too.

You all take care of yourselves.
