I’d be happy to do it for you neuroman if you trust a newbie…
If not, I totally understand.

I’m Chico’s Bail Bonds.
Hamlet is Hamlet.
Camel Toes is waddamaroon’s friend, I think.
I think Norfolk is wadda.
And if Camel Toes comes by, I just want to say that I wasn’t upset that he hadn’t come by - I imagine he just didn’t know how to make a later round predraft. You seemed up on Plax in the other draft, as you took him in the 3rd round as the 4th or 5th WR taken. I had him predrafted for that round, and I stand by the pick as a quality one. There are 2 or 3 other WRs of equal value, but your picking him earlier sealed it for me.
And if you’re wondering how I got your password, the account is tied to my e-mail, so I can run a password reminder. I don’t abuse it, but thought this would be an acceptable exception.
I had written down that PUP is jkwhatever. Dunno if I was right or not.
I thought he had predrafted. Dangit.
If neuroman runs out of predrafts we should manually put him on computer control so we don’t have to wait the countdown, then when he gets back he can reassume control.
Naw, just make his picks for him. CC sucks.
who’s PUP? i wanna draft. dang i was hoping to get plaxico in round 4… oh well.
so, i know what WL does and why he can post so often. munch works in a law firm. i do network admin so i basically sit online and do nothing, what about everyone else?
figure we’re gonna be mock drafting for a while, heh. we should also all participate in an actual fantasy league once they get started.
I’m a Systems Analyst (work 80% from home) and short timer with my company, so I do as I please. I also work all kinds of weird hours and type pretty quickly, so I post a lot here. Have to work with people in Asia and Europe a lot, so it’s often the case that I’m up at 5:30 am or working until 1:00 am, Eastern time.
Soon I’ll be a starving entrepreneur. Hopefully my kids will have shoes. And sorry to give you so much grief; I was just jealous of your last pick and mine sucked.
I think PUP is jk1245, I just emailed him.
Norfolk etc. is definitely waddamaroon.
I agree that we should get a real FF league together. I wonder how many mocks we can do before they get boring? I already feel like I’ve got a gigantic leg up on next year’s draft because of the draft boards I’m developing here.
np, which pick are you so jealous of?
Shibb, I think it’s a near certainty that your kids will have shoes. It’s more of a question of whether or not those shoes will fit onto your children’s feet without the aid of whatever the exact opposite of the Jaws-of-Life is.
As for a league together, I know that WL, Shibb and myself were involved in an SDMB league last fall. Was jk in that? I can’t remember. Either way, we should definitely make it happen (even though Shibb prefers individual defensive players - foolish starving entrepreneur who works with Asia).
It was a blast, but I’m biased, because I kicked Shibb and WL’s ass up and down the internet. Then I got stomped in the playoffs, but I choose to forget about that.
Hey mrchan, you’re on the clock in case you didn’t know it.
Yup the PUP team is mine.
Sorry for the delay, just got back from a job interview that went WAY long (guess that’s a good thing though).
Damn work interfering with FFball!!!
Munch: when you get the 1st overall pick, and take Marshall Faulk in a year when (a) he is hurt and (b) Kurt Warner sucks, then your team is going to suck, plain and simple. You did kick my ass. And IIRC, WhiteLightning made his wad by kicking my ass. I did relatively okay against everyone else, all things considered. And I still think we should have individual defensive players; having grown up a Bucs fan defense was pretty much the only thing we had to look forward to. Last year I could tell you every starting player on the Bucs D, their backups, and often the backups’ backups. It was a VERY good year!
Side question for everyone: In a 12 team snake draft, if you had your preference, which position would you pick in?
For me the 3-5 spots would be ideal. I think you should be able to get a real stud about 4th or 5th still, and get quality second and third picks at 20-22. What about the rest of you?
Also: the next seven picks, at least, are pre-drafted or computer controlled, so it should fly for a little while.
@jk1245: Good luck on the job thing!
just picked, WL is up.
We had a second SDMB FF last year: Me, osip, jk12345, and several others I am forgetting were in it.
Shibb: re the 12man serp picking spot:: this always varies from year to year. This year, I think #4 is a great spot, and I usually think the swing pick #12/#13 is nice too.
Shibb, you’re absolutely right about the Faulk situation. However, the guy with Faulk in my other league ended up winning. Of course, he had some great (lucky) weeks, and got to play me and my Walking Wounded twice (Eddie George, David Boston, Griese, Pollard, Cleveland Def., A. Green, etc.).
As for individual defensive players, I’d be fine with that. Makes the mock drafts less useful, but I can live with it.
As for a 12 team, I’d say 5 is perfect, and if you have someone who insists on an early QB, 6 is good too. As long as I can get Taylor, Lewis or Davis in the third, I’m happy.
jk, good news and good luck on the job interview.
Munch, the year before last, when we did individual defensive players, I don’t think that ANY were taken before the 10th round or so, so it really doesn’t invalidate the mock drafts. What it does is put more value on the waiver wire. And the swings for defensive points are less erratic than if you have team defenses. Can you imagine if you had Tampa Bay’s defense in the Super Bowl? Kick ass. Less likely that somebody had or started Dexter Jackson, since he doesn’t make that many tackles. (I know we don’t play the Super Bowl, but it illustrates my point AND I get to annoyingly mention the Bucs again )
I picked; Stitch is up.
I agree that favored spot changes drastically from year to year. This year I’d want 3rd or 4th, I think, but then I’d cry if Ricky and LT were both gone by the time it was my turn. After that I’d favor a spot later in the first round but not the 12th. Maybe 9 or 10, and hope that not all the stud RBs were gone.
He did this in the last draft as well. I thought he had it figured out. I know he does now.
BTW: He accused me of stealing his password to make the Burress pick. Now the truth comes out.
Actually, you saved him from himself. He wanted Jimmy Smiff, until you reminded him of Plaxico.
Good, now I don’t feel bad. Smith would have been a good choice as well, though. But due to last week’s conversation of Smith v. Smith, it might have looked like a semi-biased pick.
