Stupid liberal idea of the day

You’re aware that the AP is suing the State Department and not HC, right? Some of the FOIA requests go back 5 years. The State depatment has the absolute worst record (grade of “F”) of responding to FOIA requests having nothing to do with Hillary.

This:

and this:

It’s a former-presidential perk. They all get it, though reportedly Bush41 took it more seriously than most.

Powell used an AOL account. Not exactly the kind of service you’d use if you wanted to make sure no one ever got to read your emails:

You do have to wonder, why a private email server that only she and her team had control of?

One pities Mr. Hump, fighting against you amoral Marxian terrorists all alone. Let me help.

Although he supports many of the values Republicans hold dear: rape, imprisoning gays, eye-for-an-eye, and basing policy on religion; as an enemy of our friends, I think Ayatollah Khamenei should be considered a liberal: As an ally of Gog and Magog, he has slant-eyed ancestry and, like his treasonous friend, may have been born in Kenya.
All countries, according to the international norms, remain faithful to their commitments even after their governments change, but the American senators are officially announcing that at the end of the term of their current government, their commitments will be considered null and void.
The gall of these ignorant ethnic foreigners to try and teach real Americans about America. :smack: This is the very cream of America he criticizes, the astute detectives who will finally get to the bottom of the Benghazi Genocide so many years later.

The Ayatollah better shup up. When America wrests its White House back from Kenyanist terrorists like him, he’d better expect a mushroom cloud over Teheran.

Seriously? If your spouse already had one, set up with giga-security for top secret documents, wouldn’t you use it? Or would you use AOL?

Bill Clinton doesn’t use email. He may have paid for it, but she’s the only user.

Don’t you remember your history? Chinagate? Travelgate? Whitewater(gate)? Vince Foster and the rest of the Death List?

It’s a Clinton, so there must be something nefarious about it! (Even above and beyond what one can expect from a regular Democrat.)

Step 1- conclusion: Democrat is evil and everything they do is the biggest scandal ever.

Step 2- spin: Repeat everything they do, or don’t do, and say how negative it is.

Step 3- embellishment: Just plain old make shit up.

Step 4- disseminate: Begin on wackadoodle blogs and far right websites, work toward the mainstream via Fox, until CNN repeats it in an attempt to re-report what has been reported elsewhere.

Step 5- acceptance: It is now accepted fact in right wing bozo land, and naive middling nitwits think it is plausible because they don’t have a bullshit filter.

So, Adaher, as honestly as you are capable of, if Hillary had been the one using an AOL server, would your outrage level be affected one whit, and in what direction? I mean, it seems to me an AOL account is about the least secure thing a SOS could use…

I don’t know or care whether that’s true, but it’s irrelevant. My question was, “If your spouse already had one, set up with giga-security for top secret documents, wouldn’t you use it? Or would you use AOL?”

and here is what HRC said about the server:
http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2015/03/12/dem-source-bill-clinton-paid-out-pocket-for-personal-email-server/

“The system we used was set up for President Clinton’s office,” the former secretary said on Tuesday, specifically referring to the former president’s office, which is funded in part by taxpayer dollars.

She added, “It had numerous safeguards. It was on property guarded by the Secret Service and there were no security breaches. So, I think that the use of that server, which started with my husband, certainly proved to be effective and secure.”

It doesn’t matter how secure it was, since she said she never sent any email about anything classified.

Guess Addy doesn’t have an answer for me…:frowning:

When it comes to stupid liberals, you can’t beat the Europeans.

In the GD thread Just give them the money (the argument for basic income) where conservative Americans are patiently trying to explain that there is no Santa Claus, and that economic production is exponentially proportional to income inequality, the Board’s Europeans come prancing in, babbling about their Marxist paradise. Don’t they even know that their happiness, employment, health and education ratings are just doctorings by Leninist propaganda?

It all just proves the European liberals are jealous of American exceptionalism. America has a unique ethnic mixture Europe doesn’t need to contend with, and of course America is exceptional in other ways: e.g. Benghazi.

And Free Everything for Everybody would be much more expensive in America. In addition to free cosmetic surgery, free abortions, free caviar, and all the other freebies in the dysfunctional “utopias,” Americans would need free guns. Can you imagine the mayhem in Ferguson if that kind of people we’re given free healthcare and free guns?

I wouldn’t be outraged, because if she’d been using AOL, chances are those emails would still be out there somewhere. Of course, as we speak hackers are working on her private email server, so we may get some answers soon.

Here’s a story though that sort of exonerates Clinton but condemns government as a whole:

The State Department doesn’t have a system for retaining emails. That’s some pretty old technology that they still don’t have. There’s one very good reason why Republicans have more stupid ideas. Because liberals have one big stupid idea: that the government can be effective. They can’t even save their own emails.

Note that corporations have been required to save emails since Sarbanes-Oxley passed. If there’s one thing the government is consistent on, it’s being really slow on the uptake.

http://www.techrepublic.com/article/what-the-sarbanes-oxley-act-means-for-it-managers/

Kinda depends on your view of corporate America and its civic virtue. Not a fan of Hilary, trust her a bunch more.

I would think that the idea that the government should have to follow the laws they pass on the rest of us would be fairly uncontroversial.

What gets me is that in news articles they act like this is a challenging problem, retaining emails. these folks are just not too bright, are they?

<looks up at the motto: “Fighting Ignorance Since 1973 (it’s taking longer than we thought.” Rereads Septimus’s post. Sighs.>

I have read many moronic things on the Internet and most of them, I’ve read on the SDMB. But I gotta give you credit, Septimus. That was one of the most incredibly fucking stupid things I have ever read. It’s no wonder Cecil despairs with people like you around.

Further proof Clothahump doesn’t read his own posts.
