John McNaughton’s One Nation Under God illustrates Tom “I Can’t Believe He’s Not in Jail” DeLay’s theory. Cursor over each figure & object in the picture to see an explanation of the subtle symbolism. Bad Art & Bad History in the service of Bad Politics…
Is it possible some of those photos have been altered slightly?
(Fox News got caught doing that. I’d really hate to think that anyone on my side of the great divide would descend to that level of chicanery.)
As for Mitch McConnell, shrug. If you take as many photos of anyone as have been taken of him, some will come out with a doofus expression on 'em. There are doofus photos of Obama, and Clinton (Bill and Hillary) and…well, just about anyone who’s famous enough to be the subject of thousands of photos.
We liberals and progressives and moderates are supposed to be the ones who don’t care about externalities such as physical appearance. We don’t mock people for body issues. Let’s try to hold up that moral standard.
(Some of the wickedest people in history have been rather handsome.)
McNaughton cracks me up. Still pissed about Marbury v Madison. Roll over to Reagan’s face… “a true patriot of freedom”. Love Lincoln doing his Al Jolson impersonation.
Yeah, if Hitler wore old shoes that were too big for him and a bowler, but usually ended up winning the girl, that whole taking over Europe and exterminating the Jews thing would have been more palatable.
Sigh. The Governor of Texas Greg (Wheels) Abbot- R, launched a Pre-K expansion to help more kids get into and stay in daycare. The Lt. Gov.'s advisers went a little koo koo bannanas, calling the initiative “socialist” and decrying the children being ripped out of godly homes for a daycare with a "Godless environment.
