If we are going to get all demographic, the 800 pound gorilla in the room is that six of the nine Supreme Court justices are Catholics and two are justice, with just one Protestant on the court. It’s all about abortion and litmus tests, of course, but it’s still fucking weird.
Er, Jewish. Two are Jewish.
There hasn’t been even one Protestant since Stevens retired. Ginsburg, Breyer, and Kagan are Jewish, the other six are Catholic.
Maine Governor Paul LePage advocates shooting a political cartoonist. To the face of the son of the cartoonist.
Wow, that’s some serious crazy
Democracy, Theocracy, just the same thing with different names right?
I’m not sure if he graduated from law school, but if he did, he should ask for his money back.
Does Bob Jones University have a law school?
Jeez, that’s fucked up. I mean, that man is mentally ill.
My bet is Liberty University.
Resignation coming in three, two, …
Since he brought up the Nazis; what’s his solution to the Jewish problem?
Same thing.
I find it hard to believe that any of these people have ever interacted with a real homosexual person in their life. I know they’re a minority, but that still strikes me as really sheltered.
I hate to be all cliched, but based on pure Bayesian probability, this guy just shot up to the top of the list of “Most likely to be caught canoodling with a member of the same sex in a moment of weakness”.
Did you notice this:
The criminal laws against homosexual sodomy are for the protection of the righteous…

(Emphasis added.)
IANAL, so I don’t know the specifics of Alabama’s sodomy laws, but I found it interesting that he would distinguish between the flavors.
Who hasn’t? Granted, they might not have realized the person they were talking to was gay, it ain’t always obvious.
I think that many or most of the letter-writers, preachers, and other prominent anti-gay folks have interacted quite intimately with a number of real homosexuals in their private lives.
The criminal laws against homosexual sodomy are for the protection of the righteous, particularly the young, the weak, the vulnerable, who need the law to teach them right from wrong when in a vulnerable state.
This was the bit that got me. With out the law to tell me gay sex is wrong, how am I to know? Now that it is all legal and everything everywhere, I gots to go out and get me gay-laid. Because, everyone in their heart of hearts wants to do that a lot and would have been doing it a lot if the law had not been protecting us.
What, does this guy live in some kind of law cabin?
That’s another dream he can’t allow himself – imagining himself surounded by the Log Cabin Republicans.
I see what you did there.
