You love paying taxes, bitch, admit it!
How does Trump say with a straight face that he has great respect for Mexico while accusing them of the worst crimes and a conspiracy in the same statement? The guy’s egomania and distortions know no bounds
I deserve it, too, the way I dress my money.
The text of your link (and of the bill itself) directly contradicts your assertion:
So it has to be voluntary; it’s totally not something an employer can require.
BWAHAHAHAHA! Let’s go to the quarry and throw stuff down there! Ddamn, I thought I was gonna be able to type that with a straight face, but haha no way! That shit is too funny!
Yeah, I’m sure if this passes it’ll be totally voluntary, with no employer’s firing or threatening to fire any employ who declines to “volunteer” for 7 day work weeks. Surely the bill will include stiff sanctions for any employer who coerces or attempts to coerce an employee, right?
<checks text of Wisconsin JFC Motion 999 2015>
Hmmmm… nope, I guess I’m wrong: there seems to be no penalty for coercing an employee into “volunteering” to work 7 days per week.
Yeah, it’s that kind of policymaking and enacting that is gonna launch Scott Walker into the White House, and usher in a new Golden Age of prosperity for 'Merica.
Not exactly a “stupid idea of the day” but I ran across this quote and this seemed the appropriate venue to share it.
“Here the big battles were being fought-against revised versions of the Bible, fluoridation, dirty books on school library shelves. The people of Garden Grove cared enough about the future of their country to pass an ordinance prohibiting the sale of UNICEF Christmas cards. At PTA and school board meetings in a dozen communities, women had the courage to stand up and reveal how Democrats were building barbed-wire stockades in Alaska to imprison all conservatives.” The Last Days of the Late Great State of California-Curt Gentry-1968
That’s how you know that they’re conservatives. They won’t even come up with new material.
They are conserving their material. Reduce, re-use, and recycle, right?
Hatred for paying taxes is central to GOP ideology. I’m surprised some of the red states don’t yet have rectal ultrasounds as a mandatory part of the tax-filing process.
The latest from fading troll Sarah Palin - A new book, “Sweet Freedom: A Devotional”, Palin’s fourth, will feature 260 “meditations” that apply “biblical principles” to contemporary issues.
A gal’s got to make a living.
Well, hell, what’s Toddy doing these days? Isn’t he performing his Biblical function of being head of the household, breadwinner, and family priest?
Shouldn’t there be a devotion for every day of the year? Or is the new Palin calendar 105 days short? Are those days left for resting because thinking is hard?
Actually, since she’s from Alaska, there should really only be one day in that book…
Fifty-two weeks of Mondays through Fridays. Weekends is fer cuttin’ loose and engaging in family-oriented activities, like barroom brawls…
I’ve heard about that too. And now the Free Market of Texas can work that way also. Texas Supreme Court rules against workplace and consumer safety regulations, in favor of The Free Market.
Texas Could Become an Even More Dangerous Place – The state Supreme Court just gave itself the power to strike down health and safety regulations it finds “oppressive”, Mark Joseph Stern, Slate, July 7, 2015.
I don’t think we need to worry - Texas has an excellent industrial safety record. What could go wrong?
You know, I’m tempted to give them this one. I haven’t seen the syllabus, but 750 hours seems like a excessive amount of time to teach “Wash your damn hands”.
Then again, in Texas, an oppressive health and safety law probably constitutes prohibiting dumping fracking byproducts in people’s living rooms.
There were going to be 365, but being Sarah Palin, she quit part way through.
Methinks there should be a poll — or at least a pre-poll survey — for “fifty all time great SRIOTD posts” (Og knows there’s plenty of material). Anyway, this post would definitely be in the running.
Maine Governor Paul LePage apparently doesn’t understand how pocket vetos work and ended up allowing bills he opposed to pass.
This is my favorite story of the day. Heckuva job, LePage-ie!
LA Gov. Bobby Jindal “The Confederate flag is a symbol of my heritage”

He’s a direct descendent of Robert E. Lee himself!
