I grant I haven’t set foot in Tennessee (nor do I really wish to), but in my personal experience teachers tend to gravitate towards two general personalities : the “Eh, fuck it, seems easy and there’s lots of time off” low-effort folks and the “I’m gonna SHAPE THE FUTURE and teach those kids SO MUCH !” people with a true calling - the latter tending to be lefties, atheists, science wonks or poets or history buffs… IOW not really the Gawd gawd gawd Jeebus crowd.
So I could totes see a teacher seeing the retard on display here and formulating a Plan à la Scopes trial

Depends on the comparison. Comparing Bush to Hitler in terms of genocide is just as stupid as comparing Bernie to Stalin or Pol Pot. But comparing Bush’s use of stagecraft and propaganda to Hitler’s may be instructive. A knee-jerk “Ooh, Godwin’s Law!” doesn’t take much intelligence.
Still, the Republican politicians wouldn’t be pandering to the ignorant if there weren’t a lot of ignorant Republican voters.
