I think. If this doesn’t finish Carson’s campaign, then the whole party wins today’s “Stupid Republican Idea of the Day.”
Not even outside of the Bible. Pyramids are not mentioned in the Bible. Pyramids are not mentioned in any part of the Passover celebration. I wouldn’t be surprised if some illustrated Bible books for children show the Hebrews building the pyramids. Maybe that is where he gets his ideas from.
It’s that damned liberal biased fact-checking.
That would seem to apply to every building The Donald has ever put up.

Or from a Jack Chick comic – I saw the Hebrews building the pyramids in one of those.
Carson’s campaign admits he faked his West Point admission claim.
Slowly the vultures begin to circle. If Trump or one of the others doesn’t call him out about this next debate they are stupider than advertised.

$20 says this has no impact on Carson’s campaign at all. Though as I pointed out in another thread, we are three days away from the date (in 2012) when Cain’s poll numbers started to crater.

It’s Fox News’ top story.

Did they even notice when a universe was created around them? Egyptians don’t sound very observant.
Well they had recently cribbed beer from the Sumerians, so…

Actually, I’m not particularly outraged by this one, although I guess it depends on the precise language used to describe the “scholarship” in the first place.
If in fact he was in ROTC and did meet with official and relevant people (like General Westmoreland) who said things like “you should apply to West Point, you’re nearly certain to get a scholarship”, that’s actually only a few shades of meaning away from “being offered a scholarship”. It’s just an unofficial offer, whereas that turn of phrase usually implies an official offer.
That said, I will gleefully enjoy any implosion that occurs.

2011, I think. Herb never made it as far as 2012. On this date in 2012, we were on the verge of the last cry of “… this may be just the break the Romney campaign is hoping for …” – the 6th was election day.

But Westmoreland wasn’t in town on the day he claims this happened.
Speaking of the break the Romney campaign has been waiting for, let’s flash back to May 2012:
“I can tell you that over a period of four years, by virtue of the policies that we’d put in place, we’d get the unemployment rate down to 6%, and perhaps a little lower,” said the GOP nominee-to-be.
Today’s job report for October shows the unemployment rate at 5%, which is indeed “perhaps a little lower” than 6% - and over a year early, to boot! Who knew that losing the election was all Romney needed to have his economic plan do its thing?!?!
Perhaps not the “stupid Republican idea of the day” but I’m sure the continued howling from the right about Obama’s destruction of the economy - in the face of cold, hard facts showing otherwise - will suffice. Heck, Elizabeth Hasselbeck on Fox & Friends could barely get out the words that “only” 271,000 jobs were added in October, even though that’s about 90,000 more than forecast.

But Westmoreland wasn’t in town on the day he claims this happened.
If in fact he totally fabricated meeting Westmoreland, then that’s a different kettle of fish entirely, and pretty inexcusable.

when Cain’s poll numbers started to crater.
Well, it’s hard to beat the bad publicity *he *got.
In fact, I’m not Abel to…

The kind that you shoot at.

The Beer Advance should raise a civilization’s growth and happiness.
Trump vetoed risqué “SNL” skits because “I want to stay leading in Iowa”.
Though, come to think of it, it is debatable how stupid that thinking is.

My understanding, which I admit may be wrong, is that there is really no such thing as a scholarship to West Point. The Army pays everyone’s education at West Point since the students are all in the Army.

To be honest, I didn’t even know Carson claimed to be a West Point graduate. And that’s the problem with thinking this is some kind of smoking gun that will bring him down. Why do most Carson supporters support him? Because he’s seemingly smart (he’s a doctor!), he’s got a calming disposition, he’s not part of the political establishment, and he says crazy things. Not once have I heard anything from him touting his West Point credentials (maybe that’s just me, I tuned out when Carson talks) so I don’t know if this will really hurt him.
