Much as I hate to agree with anyone named Palin (except Michael), this religion writer for the Washington Post says Bristol is right.
Of course, the fact that the video by the guy who started all this, Joshua Feuerstein, got 150,000 likes and 500,000 shares indicates that this nutjob’s opinion is not his alone.
Having posted that, now one of the nutjob-in-chief wannabes is picking it up:
Donald Trump suggests a boycott of Starbucks and its plain red cups.
I’m not sure if this is a stupid Republican idea, or just another stupid Republican.
Linky no worky.
Oops. Obviously I am not qualified to operate this dangerous machinery.
Red State’s Leon Wolf is right: Marco Rubio is Not Ready for Prime Time.
Rubio’s statement is probably the stupidest thing any candidate has said in the campaign so far. It’s shocking anyone could be so stupid!
The first comment made me laugh:
At least he didn’t say the Death Star was used for grain storage.
I mean seriously … have you thought about … WHAT’S ALL THE SPACE IN THE DEATH STAR USED FOR?
I find his lack of sense disturbing.
This is not the break the Huckabee campaign was looking for.
If that’s not proof of the GOP getting their constituents to vote against their own interests, then nothing is proof enough.
I don’t know if this is exactly stupid, but its is childish, petty, and hilarious: Media must use “StopHillary” Wi-Fi password at tonight’s Republican debate
So, I said “My colleges also offered classes in Perception. I am now totally absolved from everything, the end. And I want an apology.” and got this:
Somehow didn’t feel quite as vindicating as I had imagined it would!
Can’t believe I clicked on a RedState link. In the end, it wasn’t worth it.
That’s politics for ya.
And this is why we need Like buttons.
The fact that the shares so outweigh the likes tells me that a good proportion of those were probably from liberals opening himself up to mockery.
That still leaves 150K who saw his screed and thought, ohmigod, he’s right, I never thought of it that way!
Oh no, much, much worse:
Confused Republicans voting against their own self-interest is the only way they win. There are massive amounts of people in this country so anti-Obama and anti-liberal they’ve stopped processing any other political thoughts. Some members of my own family are perfect examples of this.
My brother is on disability. My father draws a social security survivor’s benefit check from when my mom passed away. And they are TERRIFIED… terrified I tell you, that because Obama is in the white house, they are going to have their benefits taken away. Basically, anything bad that might happen to them politically, is Obama’s fault. Anything good is because of the Republicans. I tried to explain that if anyone wants to reduce SS and disability benefits, it’s the Republicans, but they just look at me like I’m crazy and say something about how Obama is still a secret Muslim. I got the exact same look of befuddlement and pivot to random conspiracy theory when I tried to explain that Obamacare is not a health plan you sign up for, it’s a law that affects all health plans.
Perhaps the solution will be for the Republicans to gain full control of the House, the Senate, and the presidency for a couple of election cycles, at the end of which there might very well be a popular revolt including many of the swing voters and dunderheads sweeping in the Democrats. That’s pretty much what just took place in the Great White North a few days ago, resulting in a professional raft guide/amateur boxer as Prime Minister, a trigger pulling Sikh warrior as Minister of Defence, and a female Muslim Afghan refugee on a donkey as Minister of Democratic Institutions. Its a breath of fresh air.
Of course between now and then, there would be a good chance that the USA would continue to deteriorate, causing massive social and economic disruption along the way.
Have a look at fucked-up countries in Africa and the Mid-east. Some of them just can’t get their act together, particularly when religion is strong. I hope the USA changes its path and does not continue down that road. As an economic powerhouse, I expect that the USA has enough stability to work past it’s present insanity, but it’s sad to see the harm that it is causing its people.
