Y’know what I said earlier about not accusing Cruz of faking his empathy?
I take it back. Now I am accusing him of it.

That’s impossible. Over the Thanksgiving break, I was playing ‘old, knee-jerk, Fox-news-isn’t-conservative-enough-let’s-watch-One-America, frightened Republican’ bingo (filled out my whole card within two hours) at my aunt an uncle’s house. Anyhoo, I learned from my cousin that Christians don’t kill people. :smack:
The proof involved talking to a true Scotsman.
Don’t keep us in suspense, did you ask about that “porridge” thing? OK, do they or don’t they?
Well, as a matter of fact, there is this thing Christians do with porridge . . . in deference to your delicate sensibilities, I will say only that Nero was not overreacting.
"‘Someone’s been eating my porridge,’ said the mama bear…
And we all know who the mama bear is, right, Sarah?
Every once in a while, I think that maybe the national reporters actually aren’t big pussies who wouldn’t say shit if they had a mouthful. I think that maybe they actually do get a lot of calls and emails from credentialed scientists saying climate change is a hoax, or something. Even if only 1% of scientists believe it, if that 1% all feel strongly enough to call somebody, then that would be thousands of calls, and if other 99% think it’s too loony to even debate, then it might seem like a legitimate question to somebody who didn’t take many science classes on his way to a journalism degree.
But for fuck’s sake, this is about their own specialty. They know for a fact that they aren’t burning or suppressing the videos that would vindicate Trump on the 911 cheering thing. They know for a fact that at best, he’s being willfully ignorant, and more likely, he’s lying. But they won’t say it, just as they won’t call Ben Carson a kook for believing ludicrous stuff that has no Biblical, let alone scientific, basis.
If they won’t stand on their hind legs on this, then they never will.
Maybe she has Syrian rape fantasies. It’s not like she’s getting any from her husband.
He’s never seen The Daily Show?
Wouldn’t we all be more surprised if she didn’t?
She probably has HBO. Fifty Shades of Grey premiered this month.
I can’t believe I’m saying this.
I have a fuzzy recollection of seeing a news story showing people celebrating the 9/11 attack on the towers, but my recollection is that these were people in the Middle East, *not *in the United States (any of 'em). Might have been Palestinians, in fact, which could explain his confusion with Patterson. [NB: I make no guarantees that I am remembering correctly. It was 14 years ago, and that’s the sort of thing I’d actively try to forget.]
And now I’ve half defended Donald Trump, which makes me feel really, really queasy. Yirk. Where’s that barfing smiley when you need it?
Don’t feel bad, I recall it that way, too, which means that the Donald is still wrong, and you’re still not defending him.
Fellow rememberer here.
I also remember that some sources were saying that it was people in America doing the celebrating, but that was actually debunked on this very board. I could easily see someone “remembering” that it was people in America celebrating.
If he made an honest mistake, he’s had plenty of time to realize it. So he’s either lying or is willfully ignorant, and considering the nature of his accusation, either would disqualify him if we had either a competent press or a sane voting public.
Disqualify him from what, seeking the Pubbie nomination? Anybody can have that. Pubbies are disqualified from actually winning the presidency, just by being Pubbies.
Waitaminnit, I thought it was the Mexicans doing that! Now I’m confused.
DT and MB need to pow-wow and get their stories straight.
That’s right, all the major news sources that jumped all over Trump have pointed out that there were videos of 9/11 celebrations in the Middle East, and one report of some scattered alleged celebrations in NJ that the police checked out and nothing came of it. It seems to be that news article about police checking some reports of scattered NJ celebrations that Trump magnified into thousands and thousands of Arab-Americans dancing in the streets of New Jersey.
On MTP last Sunday, Chuck Todd suggested to Trump that maybe he was confusing the celebrations in the middle east with some rumors about New Jersey, but Donald refused to accept that as an explanation.
