Stupid Republican idea of the day

Trump’s base loves it when he doubles down on being flat-out factually wrong, with no embarrassment and no shame.

I think this is because the RW media echo chamber has now become so drastically divorced from reality (Planned Parenthood shooter is a transgender leftist? Climate change is a hoax to establish socialist world order? Abstinence-only sex ed reduces teen pregnancy?) that they’re no longer looking for ways to debate opposing viewpoints: all they want is the reassurance of stubbornly rejecting inconvenient facts. And Trump’s egotistical “facts and logic are for the little guys” schtick provides that reassurance.

Kimstu is right again. Damn, these people are not just lying; they hate the truth, as it is attacking their worldview. And it isn’t even a comfortable world view, just an angry and defensive one. As if that worldview is worth defending.

It’s comfortable to them. Much as Wahhabism is comfortable to Wahhabists.

Trying to keep up with the long criminal record racked up by characters like Jesus al-Zawahiri would confuse anybody.

No, Syrians do the “rape jihad,” Mexicans do the “rape fiesta.” If you have to choose, hope you get raped by a Mexican, at least you get cheerful music.

I hate mariachi music, I’d rather have the ISIS theme song in the back, especially the Skrillex version

Ted Cruz: “The overwhelming majority of violent criminals are Democrats.”

I would have thought the overwhelming majority of violent criminals were apolitical.

It’s a dog whistle. What Cruz really means is that the majority of violent criminals are blackity-black-black. His intended audience knows what he’s really saying.

Yeah, the Republicans who destroyed the job market and economy didn’t use guns.

…look at Frosty go.

…Trumpety-Trump-Trump?

God help me, I just hurt myself snorting.

Colorado State GOPer knows exactly who is to blame for the Planned Parentood shooting.

JoAnn Windholz says that “Violence begets violence”

Has anyone ever seen Ted Cruz and Starving Artist in the same room?

I have it on good authority that the overwhelming majority of violent criminals are Christians.

The greatest danger to us is the number of religious-fanatic terrorists coming out of North and South Carolina, not Syria.

So a couple days ago, Ted Cruz and some right wing sites had fun claiming that Colorado Springs killer Robert Dear was transgendered. In what will come as a surprise to almost no one, it was all just a silly misunderstanding. The Colorado Springs Gazette says Dear was listed incorrectly as female on both his voter registration and his driver’s license due to a data entry error. He got a corrected DL and tried to correct his voter registration, but he didn’t fill out the form clearly, so the clerk didn’t process the change.

TPM hasa little more background on Dear. It turns out he praised anti-abortion extremists and had faced charges for domestic violence, rape, and being a peeping Tom.

You know, like what Mike Huckabee said he would’ve been if only they’d had transgender rights laws when he was a teenager.

So it turns out that the OVERWHELMING majority of anti-abortion folks, perpetrators of domestic violence, rapists, and peeping Toms are trans-gendered supporters of Ted Cruz.

I’m totally confused. Did I conflate a post or two above?.:smack:

I don’t imagine I’m the only man who’s first impression of Ted Cruz is that he looked a bit effeminate, the anti-matter Charles Bronson.
