I seem to recall a NY Times photo of people celebrating 9-11 on the streets of Cairo Egypt and nothing at all about Americans. American Muslims were, without doubt, terrified at possible retaliations against them. To his credit, Dubya differentiated between violent extremists and ordinary every day Muslims.
