Stupid Republican idea of the day

There’s still lots of restrictions. And it was only recently that atotal ban of firearms on campus was lifted.

If Lib U actually has any on-campus Muslim students, might one suppose that they have a case against the school, and against Falwell personally, for “creating a hostile environment” on campus?

Former Illinois Rep. Joe Walsh too!

Former Congressman Unleashes on Attorney General in Rant Against Islam: ‘Go Ahead and Prosecute Me. I Dare You.’

Just to be clear: Not to be confused with some earlier posts about Pataki saying shit like this. It appears that they are both saying shit like this.

Falwell would probably have you shot for calling it “Lib U.”

Can we call the students Lib-tards?

If, God forbid, someone actually does shoot a Muslim student, Jerry Fallwell could go down the way Tom Metzger did. It’s beyond stupid to say, “Let’s shoot people” in today’s U.S. It puts Fallwell right up there alongside ISIS and AQ.

That’s strange. Here is the LU Doctrinal Statement. I don’t see how a Muslim could accept it, e.g.:

“We affirm that each person can be saved only through the work of Jesus Christ, through repentance of sin and by faith alone in Him as Savior. The believer is declared righteous, born again by the Holy Spirit, turned from sin, and assured of heaven.”

Pataki saying something like that greatly surprised me. He’s been a white bread conservative type. Won his original governorship by promising to sign a death penalty law, but then laid off a few government workers and generally had a fairly quiet twelve years in office, even 2001.

The madness of this GOP primary season must have gotten to him.

Pataki just wants to be noticed and has had an epiphany that in today’s GOP you have to out-crazy the other guys in order to get noticed. It is pragmatism, really.

Looking around I found this. It doesn’t address the issue you raised, but it appears that being an open Muslim at Liberty university isn’t impossible.

You don’t accept it. You ignore it. As a Hindu, and later as an atheist, I was able to attend explicitly Christian private schools with similar doctrines.

I do however, think the dig that “maybe these students’ idea to attend there is the actual SRIOTD” was funny.

They have a pretty good internal financial aid program, and because it’s largely only stupid people that would choose to go for any other reason you can pretty much go for free if you’re normal and have mediocre qualifications. I would have qualified for a full scholarship to Liberty’s law school despite a 2.5 undergraduate GPA (too drunk to go to class, and it was UCF so I could never find parking when I actually tried to go).

The med school just opened last year so its admission requirements and financial aid offers were probably even softer.

I’d love to ask him where in the Gospels one finds this “kill them before they kill you” verse. I’ve read all four canonical Gospels multiple times, and somehow I’m having trouble remembering anything that might fit.

I believe it was in the parable where Jesus declares “Yippie-kay-ay, motherfucker” before blowing the Probably-A-Terrorist Samaritan’s head off.

No, the original is “Kill them all and let God sort them out.”
Can’t find the exact verse, though.

Chicago huh? This would never have happened if the PC crybabies let the cops do their job.
They probably would have shot him for looking funny before he hit puberty.

This wiki entry indicates the original statement (not from the bible, but 13th century Papal Legate Arnaud Amalric) was “Kill them all. For the Lord knoweth them that are His”.
How accurate that is, I defer to the experts.

It’s in the Apocrypha – Book of Armaments, I believe.

Falwell should start a new Crusade (the current Pope sure won’t) and lead the nuts to Iraq to fight ISIS. If they take all their guns with them that will help things here also.
